I am planning a trip for the fall of 2005 and we are trying to decide wehre to stay and can't really decide between Boardwalk, Willderness Lodge or Yacht Club. It will be just me and my husdand looking for fun and relaxing. I am starting to lean towards the WLR. We both love the mountains mo then the beach. We have never stayed on site. My husband has never actually been and doesn't like crowds and a lot of noise. Will you please give me your thoughts.

If you go in the fall around Sept you shouldnt the crowds to bad at all. I have never stayed at the WL but I hope to one day, it is beautiful. We have stayed at the YC before and we loved it. THe resort is so nice, very close to MGM and Epcot. We will be staying 5 nights at the BWV our next trip so after June I can tell you how we liked it but really I dont think you can go wrong with any of the resorts.

Hi,

We've stayed at WL, not the others. We really loved our stay. We spend most of our time at MK. It takes maybe 15 minutes by boat. We also love the easy access to CR, FW, Poly, & GF. Lots of yummy resturants to choose from!!

We found the transporation to be excellent from WL. Lots of choices & routes by boat and bus.

If it is just you and your husband I would go with the YC. It is a great resort and it puts you in walking distance to both EC and MGM along with being just across the lake from the ESPN Club, JellyRolls and Atlantic Dance. I would also reconmend the Dolphin or the Swan. My husband and I stay at the Dolphin if we can get it cheeper then the YC.

I was doing some reading and found that the poly was a very nice and romantic resort. I looked at some pics and I now believe it is between the poly and WL. I would love the idea of the poly with a view of the castel. I am looking for romance. I also heard that the rooms at the WL are smaller then others. I would want space to put all of our stuff. Has anybody stayed at the Poly in the conc. level and the wilderness lodge. I think I am leaning toward Poly but I am sure I will change my mind again. I am always getting new info that makes me rethink.

Thank you for your comments so far. I think we will eventually stay at all of them but I would like to start romantic and ease my Dh into the other fun Disney offers.

I love these boards I get so much info I love it.

We are staying at the Poly concierge for 5 nights during our trip in June so I will be happy to let you know how it was. I do know the rooms are bigger than WL. It does look very romantic, with the beach and the tropical theme.

If both of you really like the mountains/wilderness WL is a great experience. We stayed there two years ago and we just loved it. It is a beautiful resort....and has great theming. One thing we liked was that after being at the parks, WL was so nice because you felt a million miles away from the action. Its a great place to walk around also...both during the day and night.

Some complain that the resort is too dark for their taste. You might want to check out photos of the rooms before booking.

I've stayed at all the resorts you inquired about and my heart is set at Boardwalk. I love it there...great decor and ambiance. Near everything too....but that's just my preference ;) I stayed at Poly a long time ago, but I did like my stay there...others seem to love it. Good luck...you can't go wrong with any of them.

I was looking at the prices and noticed the the one bed room villa is the same or cheaper then the conc. I am thinking about maybe going with that. Has anybody stayed at all of them and like one better then the other?

Thank you all for your help I really appreicate it a lot.

Were you looking at cash rates for the one bedroom (through Disney?) or were you looking at renting points from a vacation club member?

I've stayed in a one bedroom at the boardwalk and LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!:Pinkbounc Here are pictures from our unit:

As you can see this unit is very spacious! We loved it there...plenty of room, and it was nice to have a separate area to watch tv and eat! We happened to get a boardwalk view also and it was just breathtaking...it made the trip if you ask me!

We've also stayed at a 1BR at the Beach Club Villas also. I have many pictures from that unit if you'd care to see. I do think the units at BCV are better decorated than those at Boardwalk. The BCV units have great firework views also. We really enjoyed our stay there and the pool is unbelieveable.

Not sure which I would prefer...I've always had a thing for Boardwalk. There is an ambiance about the place that I don't think you can find anywhere else. :)

You have been so helpful. I would love to see the pics of the BCV also. Thank you. I am thinking I would want to stay at one of them. Being so close to two parks.

I was also looking at them through cash price through Disney. There isn't a lot of differnce but I think it would be better at a villa. There is more room and my parents are thinking about going also and that would be great to have a place for all of us to see and eat, play cards or just talk about our day. Now it is just a matter of figuring out which one I want to stay at.

Thank you for all the help and info you have giving me. Let me ask you this if you were going back tommorow which villa would you stay at BCV or BWV?

It would be BCV in a heartbeat!! I have stayed at WLV, BWV and BCV and prefer BCV over the others. The rooms are fairly similar to BWV in feel, but BCV is a much smaller and more intimate feeling resort. Also, there is no comparison when it comes to the pool at BCV vs. any other resort pool at Disney, IMO... It is fabulous! You cannot beat the proximity to Epcot -- depending upon which room you have at BCV, you can walk to Epcot within 5-10 minutes! And it's great going there for dinner or the fireworks at night. The Boardwalk restaurants and nightlife are just across the lake, as are the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin, but it has a much quieter, more relaxing feel about it, again IMO... Any of the properties would be great, but BCV to me is extra wonderful!

Have a great trip,
Sarah

BCV and BWV are completely different resorts. Boardwalk has this old time feel....I just love it. The sights and sounds on the boardwalk is probably the one thing I adore about Disney World. It is definitely more upbeat at the Boardwalk...clubs, entertainment, etc. The thing I love now is that you can get a guaranteed boardwalk view...I had one and...to die for!

BCV is more laid back...and beachy. It's nice also because you can still view the boardwalk from across the lake (which is gorgeous) but you're not in the middle of the action. It is much more laid back at the Beach Club....so it really depends what you're looking for. The pool at BCV is awesome...I usually don't swim a lot in pools when I go but I loved their pool!!

If you are seriously considering a one bedroom unit you would save a lot more by renting points from a DVC member instead of paying cash through Disney Travel. As long as you are staying on a Sun-Thurs night the price is extremely reasonable....about $300 a night on points...I think Disney Travel charges more than that, plus tax. Just something to consider ;) I know that we really enjoy the extra room in those 1 and 2BR units. Especially when we bring people....to have that kitchen and living space! :)
