Can't carry on wedding dress onto plane

I know how you feel we had the exact same problem!! In the end i got one of those space saver bags where you suck all the air out? Rolled it up as small as i could and shoved it into a holdall! Managed to get it on as hand luggage i the end! My dress wasnt exactly small, and as i was getting it steamed i wasnt so bothered about it getting creased!

Does that mean that you didn't put your dress in your suitcase? I'm just so worried about delays or even lost luggage

I put it in a suitcase, but checked it in as luggage. I didnt take it onboard with me.

I was reading your OP and was thinking the same thing that Maggie and someone else posted. I read on Carolyn Allen's website that you could ship it ahead of time - with major insurance on it, and store it there before you get to Florida. I'm sure no matter what you do, it's going to cause stress especially coming all the way from London.
