Oh my god I cant believe Im having to write this,
And not sure how Im managing it through the tears but we may have to cancel our trip in september!! Its not because of my health but because Dh came home yesterday and said that his leave has been cancelled!!!!!!!!

Dh is in the RAF and they have decided to run another course which Dh will have to teach on(when we booked there was NO course) they are now saying they dont have the man power to cover,Im utterly devastated this just isnt what I needed right now and nor did hubby!
I feel like im on a huge emotional rollercoaster.......One minute im told i cant go due to surgery then Im told i can, then my Op is brought forward and NOW this!I feel like this holiday isnt ment to be.

THANK GOD THE KIDS DIDNT KNOW.

So now Im having to work out when we can go they THINK Dh may be able to leave on the 12th of october Ok its not that much longer to wait BUT i will lose those 1st twelve days of ADRS that where special to us we wont be there for DS bday or our 4th wedding Anniversary!

Anyways can anybody tell me what the end of october is like weather wise into november? I dont like it cold a I would be happy if it was like our hot summer days. The boys are huge water park fans so we would have to be able to visit those and not freeze:rotfl2:

Dh is going to try and speak to everybody he can to sort it so we can go but its not looking good!,this also happened bk when we was getting married he was told he would be in Afghan at the time of our wedding and honeymoon they sorted it but it ment he had to go the next wk instead so he could be back in time!..

Oh no :sad2: what a nightmare......

So sorry to hear that something else has come up that may ruin your dates when you thought all was going well with your op date being brought forward

We go in October every year and the weather is always beautiful. Definitely water park weather, not humid but lovely and warm, Im not certain but I would guess around late 80's. We usually go for the first two weeks of October but we have been later in the month too and have never had cool weather. Usually in the evenings I have a little jacket or cardi but during the day, no way, we sunbathe around the pool in the gorgeous sunshine! :cloud9:

I hope your DH's work manage to sort something and let him have the time off but if not, October is a gorgeous month for Florida! Might be a bit busy around Halloween time though!

Good luck with your adrs if you end up having to change them! I hope you manage to get what to want and hey, why not have 2 birthdays and 2 anniversarys and double the celebrations! :)

We are going on 29th Oct - 12th Nov. We will be able to do MNSSHP, MVMCP, Epcot Food and Wine and Eat to the Beat. If you have to change your dates (I hope you don't) I'm sure you'll still have a fab time.

Sorry to hear that - what a nightmare.
The weather is usually very nice - not as hot and humid as September but usually warm enough for water parks etc. There is more chance of cooler weather as you get into November, but the second half of October should be quite warm.
There is generally less rainfall than September on average, though last October was quite wet, so you can never tell!

There's also the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot which starts 28th Sep. [Edit] Jools mentioned that, but it's very good so worth another mention!

Gosh how awful, I hope you manage to get something sorted.

Not been in October, but if its like April it was still hot enough to go to Water Parks and sunbathe, just needed a cardi in the evening.

I am so upset for you, my stomach lurched when I saw the title of your thread, You so deserve the break
I hope you get this sorted - I'm thinking even more positive thoughts for you :wizard:

Fingers crossed you get your October trip, this news was the last thing you needed :(

Might be worth your hubby raising a grievance at work and giving the circumstances of the holiday, there's a chance then they may reinstate his leave.

Thankyou for the replies,
My heads been spinning all day ive been sicker today then i have all month i think its due to the stress,
I reckon that if we go from the 12th then it will cost us around £1500 to cover the differences the flights will cost us £120pp to change dates and then if the flights are more then what we paid we have to cover that too! also if we are in Disney over school half term then the rates will go up on a 2 bed thats not going to be pretty:sad1:

we will try our best to make it work but I just cant see/think straight right now,and we have to take the flights before march or we lose them altogether.

Oh no what a horrible situation but as others have said there is a silver cloud i.e MNSSHP and the christmas party (sorry I forget the acronyms :rotfl2:)

If you have to change your dates would your travel insurance cover the costs as your DH's job is not your average job and it is beyond your control :confused3:confused3

October has been our month of choice for many years now.

Weather is perfect, however as a pp has mentioned it can be a little unpredictable but so can any month in Florida :confused3

Food & wine festival is fab, eat to the beat concerts, MNSSHP, no humidity, great crowd levels :thumbsup2

We have to visit August now due to eldest DS starting seniors, but I would choose October anyway

Oh I am so sorry to hear that it may not work out for September, but hopefully it will. On a plus note we always go first 3 weeks of November and its always very warm indeed early november although towards the end the evenings can get cool. Have also been last two weeks of October and 1st week of November and you will have no worries with the weather then. Without a doubt its swimming weather..

I hope all goes well with your forthcoming op and that it they find cover for your hubby from somewhere..

Lots of pixiedust:coming your way

If the RAF are anything like the Army then grievance hearings are not top of their list of priorities!

We had to change our dates I was meant to be there may 10th for my 30th and sons 7th birthday we weren't allowed to take the kids out of school due to sons year 2 sats so now changed to oct which is more fun though didnt think at time but now going to Halloween party food and wine festival so nice time of year but I'm still not be authorised for kids schoo leave but this time I'm going

They are exactly like the Army:rotfl2:
Its WORK 1st FAMILY 2nd! that I have learnt over the last 8 years!!

But thanks for making me feel better lol hahaha

I had a major Op and they didnt even let Dh have an hour off to be with me.
Other times I have been in hospital and our Twins got chicken pox they nearly charged him for not coming into work as we have no family to look after the kidswe didnt want to just leave 2 sick kids with a sitter when I was in hospital and he had to wait for my mum to come up from Cornwall.

I do like October we always go in october but only the 1st wk as we normally go last 2 wks of september into october,We already had plans to do MNSSHP we did it last yr and LOVED it,
I just didnt know what the end f october was like,if it got much colder "thankfully people are saying NO it doesnt" also we will have to pay extra on accomadation as it goes into halfterm and we was practically paid:sad2: also I did all my ADRs and i just cant get my head around the fact that I might lose the places we really wanted!

On another note we have been refused to take our son out before and we took him anyway.

Hi we was already doing the MNSSHP so that doesnt feel quite like a pro right now:lmao:
to be honest losing all my ADRs after I spent months planning them then days sorting them out is just making me ill.I cant believe this is happening.
I looked at the travel insurance and they said that if we decide to cancel then hubby would get paid £2000 towards costs us on the other hand are not obligated by the RAF to miss the holiday and that it would be our choice not to go:confused3
Im going to have to look into it some more, however if we decided not to cancel and to change the flights it would be £1269 for us to change to the dates we may be able to do,(we dont know for sure until tomorrow what dates he is allowed now)

Hi all

Well ive been on the phone to Disney and Virgin

Virgin said to change the flights it will be £120pp plus another so much because we will be flying around half term the total cost came to £1269

Disney have said that if we can fly on the 5th of october we can stay at SSR at NO extra cost for the whole time of our original booking which is 15 nights.

If we have to Fly on the 12th which we think we may have to do then we can only stay at SSR from the 12th to the 20th we can keep 9days DDP then we would have to transfer to another resort,I looked at AOA for the remaining 6 nights it will cost £1050 and we will have NO DDP :scared1:

The cost actually comes in around £270 cheaper then what we was paying but the thought of NO DDP for the 6 nights scares the hell out of me,My mum said her and the boys can eat at the resort to make it cheaper and we can go out to dinner etc,BUT its upsetting me as I have booked all our ADRs and i want to keep ALL of them!!!!!!

I know how much it is to eat at Disney :lmao: so I know OOP just wont be ok if we want the original ADRs I mean I could try and eat at all the fav places and signatures whilst we have the free DDP and then just do 1 or 2 the wk we dont have any.

anyways right now im still angry and have a thumping head that seems to want to really get at me,(stress) Im trying not to let this make me sicker but right now its winning!

So sorry you are having this hassle.

Will work compenstate at all towards the cost of moving the holiday?

Before we had DD we were booked to go to New England when work decided to book a training course DH 'had' to be on. His leave was all approved for the hol but he did a deal that we would move the holiday by a week if they paid the amendment fee (wasn't alot) and he looked v good for being reasonable and putting his career before a holiday.

If you end up with no DDP it may be worth looking at upgrading one adult ticket to an AP and buy a TIW card - it will give you 20% off TS and probably the food court at AOA (not confirmed yet as the resort is not open)

Sorry this is happening :goodvibes

so sorry you're going through this!!
i know my head would be thumping too!!!!!
i hope you can work it all out!!!
