My D-I-L has once again changed her mind and decided she wants to try to fly to WDW in Sept. She's scared to death to fly and has swimmers' ear, but also gets severely carsick every time she gets in a car and rides for more than an hour or so. Anyway I told them to make their minds up for sure, because I needed to book airfare, if they for sure wanted to fly. They talked about it and called me back about an hour later telling me to go ahead and book the flight. I decided I didn't care what it cost, I was going to buy those tickest so my D-I-L couldn't change her mind again.
While I was on the AA website I just happened to click into the Net SAAver Deals part of the site and found airfare for $176.90 apiece with tax, with perfect times. I couldn't believe it. Those exact same flights were $254.90 just a couple of days ago. Back in January I paid $183.90 on Delta (back when Delta was still making nonstop flights to MCO out of DFW) and back in May I paid $220.90 for the exact same flight times on American and thought I was getting a good deal. The times are great too (Depart DFW on 9/17 at 6:18am and Depart MCO on 9/24 at 6:59pm--getting to WDW before lunch and leaving as late as possible).
With AA and Airtran being the only carriers to make direct flights to MCO it's almost impossible to find a decent flight out of DFW. Now if we can just get my D-I-L on that plane.
I just thought I'd let my fellow DISers know in case anyone from Dallas was looking for flights out of Dallas. The prices are good from August through September and they still had lots of seats left. The price for my December trip is still $254.90, but hopefully it will come down soon too.
