Can't Anyone Keep A Secret Anymore??? October Pre-Trip Report!! ADRs have been set!

Hello, fellow Oct. 2009 vacationer! I'm about to write up my PTR too.

I'll be following yours also.

Thanks for joining. I'm definitely glad to have you. I saw that you would be arriving two days ahead of Jess and me.

Let me know where I can find your PTR I would love to follow it. Just over 6 months until we go to WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!:goofy:

Well, that's a great surprise, right? Not exactly. Right around Christmas Jessica and I got into a very heated argument.:headache: This obviously upset both of us and she also brought up that I hadn't purchased the ring. :rolleyes1 Well, in order to calm her down and in an attempt to make sure I didn't have to remain celibate for at least a month I pulled the ring out of the sock drawer.

She was extremely ecstatic. :yay: However, now I'm trying to figure out how I can find a way to surprise her at Walt Disney World. :confused3 Regardless, she was very happy with the ring that was purchased and it goes well with the wedding band. :woohoo:
I've done the same thing as Jessica in the heat of an argument!;) I'm also terrible with surprises....I want to know what they are!:rotfl:

that we would be renting points for DVC

Repeat after me while watching the swinging pendulum....."I need to buy DVC, I need to buy DVC!" :rotfl2:;)

Love the plans so far! That's great that you're going during the F&W Festival. Never been there at that time. Would love to do an adults-only trip but that'll have to wait until the kids are older.:sad2:

You'll love the BWV!:thumbsup2

I need to buy DVC, I need to buy DVC! :lmao:

And honestly I would love to do so.

Thanks, we are really excited. Well I am anyway and I think if I begin getting Jessica more involved in the planning she will be more excited as well.

And I'm wanting to do this trip now before we have kids. Jessica suggested we start trying to have one while we are at Walt Disney World and I said if it was a boy we should name him Walter. :rotfl:

Or Mickey!:lmao:

We rented DVC points three times and then decided to buy. We were hooked!:thumbsup2 For us, it just made sense.

Sounds like a wonderful, romantic trip you are planning! I'm sure Jessica will love it even if it isn't a surprise!:cloud9:

Jessica said maybe Prince Charming. :rotfl:

We talked about it after we rented last time, we just could not come up with the money to do it at this time. We would love to buy in though because the Disney resorts and even the Adventures by Disney vacations would be wonderful.

I'm hoping so. I think that she will, and I want to get her more excited by helping with the remainder of the trip planning.

How was everybody's weekend?

I know mine was busy between Easter and driving up to Cheyenne, WY (there's not much there,:confused3 well at least not until Frontier Days).

I just wanted to let everybody know I haven't forgotten you and I will follow up soon with the when of the trip.

OK. Who here really hasn't ever been able to decide on the dates of a Disney vacation. :confused3 Well I know that we couldn't.

The only thing I initially knew was that we wanted to stay over Jessica's birthday, which is a Thursday this year. Alright, we can get there on Sunday and then leave on Friday. We wouldn't have to stay for any of the expensive weekend nights and we could celebrate her birthday in the parks.

Well, then I was talking with Lisa Bailey, chef and co-owner (along with her husband Keegan Gerhard) of d-bar desserts in Denver, about where Keegan was. She mentioned that he was in Disneyland recording Food Network Challenge (which he hosts). Which brought up that Jessica and I would be going to Walt Disney World for her birthday in 2009.

Well, she mentioned that she and Keegan go down every year for the Food & Wine. Since we were already planning on being there from Sunday through Friday, she recommended staying for the weekend and going to some of the events. Ok, now I had something to think about: Do we go from October 18th - 23rd and save money? or do we extend the vacation two more days and really enjoy the Food & Wine festival? party:

I believe there is only one good answer to those questions and that's why we're leaving on the 25th. :woohoo: We just hope that we can truly enjoy the Food & Wine festival. :drinking1 (I don't think that will be much of a problem):cloud9:

:cool1: Joining in! My trip is from Oct 21st-Oct 26th at ASMo. Looking forward to hearing more of your plans! Good to know I have something to help keep me occupied!!!! popcorn::

 Hi mickeyfan! I'm glad that you saw the PTR and decided to join.

Is this your first trip to WDW? Have you stayed ASMo? I stayed at ASMu during my first trip 12 years ago this week. They're nice resorts, on property and have the Disney Magic for sure.

Look forward to discussing our upcoming trips.

This will be my 3rd trip as an adult! I made several when I was younger but don't remember them to much. This will be my first time at one of the All Star Resorts. The last trips were at POR & POFQ. Loved them but thought we would try something new this year. I'll be glad when July gets here so we can see the park hours-I'm ready to make my ADR's!

Saying "Hi"! (oh and also rubbing it in that I leave for WDW 3 weeks today!);):rotfl::woohoo:

Any plans for the weekend?popcorn::

I know what you mean. I've been looking at menus (yes, I know there's still three months before I can make them) and trying to figure out where we are going to make the ADR's and whether or not we'll be doing the DDP. I think right now I'm actually leaning toward not doing the Dining Plan.

:mad::mad: Just kidding, I'm not really mad at you. :rotfl:

3 weeks, wow! How much packing have you done?

Any plans for the weekend?popcorn::

Other than play in the snow? No, not really. I would have made plans, but from Thursday through tomorrow night we're expecting between 2-3 feet of snow.

 You'll really hate me when I post on your pre-trippie in 2 weeks that I'm leaving in a week!;):rotfl:

That's right! Yuck!!! Not in April!! My husband's cousin lives outside of Denver and she posted on her facebook status that she was watching the snow fall last night. She's expecting 30 inches.:scared1:

The menus help alot! I already have a list of our ADR's! I always use the dining plan-I love being able to order what I want and not have to look at the price! Since its already paid for it gives me more money for other things-like the adult liquids!!:drinking1::rotfl2:

I agree with you about the dining plan. But I'm not sure that we are needing all the food they offer. It will probably be closer to our 90 window that I make that decision, possibly even after I've made the reservations that we want.

As for adult beverages, I'll probably buy some of those regardless of whether or not I choose the dining plan.:drinking1:rotfl:

Yeah, we ended up with about 2 feet of snow. I ended up getting sick:sick: and missed work Monday and Tuesday as a result of all this weather change. It was 70 last Wednesday, in the 20s on Saturday and then back up over 60 by Monday.

I know it's been a while since I last updated. So here's where we are:

We've added another passenger to this crazy train. Yes, there will be three going. No, it's not because Jessica is pregnant. Who is this mystery guest? Well, it's my DFIL. Yes, I'm going to WDW with the in-law.:scared1:

He was visiting us in early July and we were talking about our upcoming vacation and how much we enjoyed it last time. Jessica asked her dad whether he had ever been to WDW and he said no and I said, well maybe you should come with us. :confused3 ...I know, I can't figure it out either.

Also, I made the all-important CRT reservation this morning. I got up at 3:45 so I could make the reservation at 4:01 am Mountain Time (it's when the Disney servers update). :scared:

I was hoping that we could get in before the park opens, but then I saw that MK was having EMH that morning, so instead I figured a 9:15 am reservationg, getting to the park at 8:00 and getting a few FP and possibly squeeze in a ride or two ahead of breakfast.

Here are the ADRs we have right now:

October 18 - none
October 19 - B- Kona Cafe; L; D
October 20 - B; L- 50's Prime Time; D
October 21 - B; L; D
October 22 (Jessica's Birthday) - B- CRT; L; D- California Grill
October 23 - B; L; D
October 24 - B; L; D
October 25 - B; L

I'm also thinking of scheduling Boma for breakfast the day we go to Animal Kingdom. And as all three of those traveling are of German descent and grew up on German foods I'm thinking Biergarten is probably in order.
