Do you own one? If so, what do you think about it?

I'm still looking for a good camera at a really good price for my next WDW vacation.....but I just can't keep my eyes off of this particular one.

What are your opinions on this camera and can you recommend some others?

Yes, we just bought our SD700 IS for our late August Disney trip, and love it, but do wait for the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS coming later this fall for $400 dollars which will be even more of a powerhouse! This thing takes amazing pictures and is a real pleasure to use, I really do love it, especially in the parks.

Love it! It takes great pictures, is small, and has been very easy to learn to use. The prices have gone down since the SD800 was introduced. The IS feature has made a big difference in my pictures. We cashed in all of our change and got an Amazon gc (coinstar doesn't charge a commission if you get a gc with your change) and saved a lot.

Another nice benefit of Amazon-- the price has gone down twice since I bought mine (a month ago), and they have refunded the difference both times. Once it went down $19 and the second time $7-- not a fortune, but it was nice to get a little back on my credit card.

Other retailers doubtless have it on sale, too.

I thought a bit about trading in for the SD800. I've read a lot of comparisons of the SD700 v. SD800 online (at dpreview and other sites), and decided to keep my SD700. The lower price vs. the slightly better zoom lens helped me decide.

I LOVE mine! I love the size and the different modes. It is very fast and I can get great pictures of my kids when they are running around. I have found that sometimes the "night" mode works better than the "indoor" mode for indoor pictures. The battery lasts a long time. I took 600+ pictures over a 5 day trip and the battery finally needed recharging on the end of the last day.
