But that never stops me from giving my opinion.

No it is not a good deal, and no it is not only 5 months old since the last D60 rolled off the assembly line in 2002.

If you want a D60 and will really start shooting Canon, you can have my old D60 for free. Of course, you'll have to get it back from the @#$! that stole it from me first.

OH OK, just to give you some history on the camera line.

Usually with a 18month window in between...
D30 ---> D60 ---> 10D ---> 20D ---> 30D --->(current)40D

I regularly see the 20D on craigslist for as little as $400 and I have seen the 10D for as little as $150.

And IMO even the REBELS would be superior in pretty much every area except build quality.

I'm guessing that he's either ignorant of how prices have fallen or he's hoping that someone will get it confused with the Nikon D60 and think it's a steal of deal.
