Does anyone here own this camera? It is on sale at K-Mart for $179.00. Is this a good price for this camera. I am looking for a camera that takes good action pictures because all 3 of my kids play travel soccer and I am always trying to take action shots of them, but they don't come out very good. I would like a good size lense also. This camera is a 8MP, 4X optical zoom and 2.5" LCD screen. Also, when the kids play indoors, I need a camera that gives off enough light to get good indoor, action pictures, is this the camera for me???? Any info on this camera, or any suggestions on any other digital camera that has all the things I am looking for. Thanks, Lynn

I think Newegg had it for 139 today on their e-mail. It is probably limited quantity and limited time though, so if you find it, I would say move quick. As for the quality, I had two A series and two S series that I liked.

I did not read all your post the first time. I do not think any p&s camera is going to make you happy. To get all that, you are going to need a DSLR, fairly expensive fast lenses, and possibly an external flash. No flash will help for the indoor sports though. That is what the expensive lens does. I doubt you could do that setup for less than ~$1,200.

Thanks for your info. I think I will try this cheaper camera and see how it is. I can not afford to spend that much money on a camera. I am a scrapbooker and I am taking pictures "all the time", as my kids would say. I wish I could take a photography class to teach me how to take really nice pictures. I guess I should find out how to use the camera that I am using correctly, and know what kind of features it has and how to use them. I love the point and shoot method but then I also want the good zoom, action, good lighting options also. I guess I can't have them all unless I spend alot of money, which I do not have. Thanks again, Lynn
P.S. How is the weather down in FL? HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Up here in upstate NY it is in the high 80's-90's, Hazy, Hot, Humid!!!!
We are planning a vacation to disney Aug. 20-29. Staying at POP Centrury. This will be our first trip down there staying on disney site, I don't know who is more excited me or the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting real good price on a room at POP $64.00/night. I couldn't find anything cheaper even staying off property. I think it is a great deal and then we are getting free dining for some of our stay also. Can't wait. Thanks again. Lynn

I think what ukcatfan was trying to convey is that the type of shots you're trying to get are notoriously difficult with any point and shoot camera; heck, they're even difficult with a dSLR unless you're experienced and have the right equipment.

Have a great time at Pop Century. :hippie:

It will not be hazy, but it will be hot and humid. All those paved surfaces at WDW really heat up. We went in early Aug last year off site and it was so bad that my DW had to go to the first aid place three times over seven days. We are going in late July this year, so pretty much the same heat, but we are on site this time. Plan to take breaks in the mid day and take advantage of EMH as much as possible. We usually try to get relatively early meals as well b/c right between 3-6 is when the rains usually come. Then you are usually finished with dinner when the rain has stopped and it has cooled off some.
