Canon 55-250mm

Hi I was thinking about purchasing a canon 55-250mm lens for my upcoming trip to Disney World. Was just wondering if anybody here has used the lens iand if so what they tought of it, or if anyone could offer any alternatives to purchasing this lens?

I will be bringing my 17-85mm, 50mm 1.8 and whatever other one I buy, do you think this will cover most photo opps? Thanks

I don't personally have one, am thinking about it, but the lens gets excellent reviews on every site that I visit. I've thought long and hard about one but am currently leaning toward the 28-135 for a good "walk-around" lens and then maybe going to the 55-250.

The 55-250 shows out-of-stock at a lot of places so may be hard to find right now.

Ye I seen it for a decent price on Amazon. I read a few reviews seems to be quite good for the price.

Anybody else any thoughts on this lens or an alternative one instead of it ? Thanks

I think I'm going to get this lens. I went into the camera store the other day & tried it out. I'm new to SLR photography, so I don't know a ton about it, but I felt like it was quick to focus, and I liked the range that it had. I tried shooting toward the window of the store and also towards the ground in lower light. I was pretty happy with the results.

Currently, I only have the 18-55 kit lens with my Canon Rebel XT, and I've found so many times when I wish I could get up just a bit closer. I like that this lens picks up where my kit lens leaves off, and for a decent price with image stabilization!

Would love to see if anybody owns this lens and their opinions as well.
