Canoe trip outfitters Elk River, Noel, Missouri

I want to take a float trip on the Elk River outside Noel, Missouri. I've found a dozen outfitters, but am wary of the quality gaps between providers. So I ask...

Does anyone have experience floating this river and the outfitters near it?

Does anyone know if a site/board that would address this type of recreation service?

A friend recently came back from a trip to Noel and while the river was grand, the campground was a big letdown.

I know the town of Noel is very small, but you might look into surrounding areas such as Beaver Lake in Arkansas and other areas in Missouri to actually camp at. I know that it is a popular summer place for people.
I am not into camping /canoing so I can't offer much else. I moved from the area last year. My company has a facility there that I went to a few times.
