Has anyone been? We are going tomorrow. My DD7 wants to do the water stuff, but are lockers free? How are the rides? We are driving 2 hours to go, so is it worth it?

we live not too far away, so we have lots of experience. Its a pleasant regional park, set on a lake. The water portion is pretty small. Really, just the dumping bucket type thing with some small to med small water slides. There are two other water slides, but they are not in the same area and designed to be done even with clothes on. I think you would have a good time. Its got a good mix of rides. Only 2 bigger roller coasters. A wooden and a tiny steel.

for water, would you consider water country?

we are in CT and my husband got free tickets from work. I am just making sure it is worth the drive. THANKS for helping us!!!

We like Canobie. It is our local park, I suppose. It is not as big as Lake Compounce if you know that park. The wooden coaster, Yankee Canonball, is not huge, but it is a good ride! Boston Tea Party is very popular on a hot day. It is one of those rides where you sit in a boat and go down the one and only hill. Big splash. People watching can get drenched if they stand in the right spot. Lockers are not free. Parking is free. It is a nice little park. Quite old, too.

Kadysmom...
just wondering how your trip to Canobie Lake Park was. I am taking my girls next week. We've been before so it's not really new to us, but it's been a few years since we were there last. Were you there at night at all? I was contemplating going at 5:00 till close since it's cheaper, but I'm not sure what the atmosphere is like, crowds etc.

we went a few weeks ago on a monday. it was awesome! very quiet, walked on to all rides. my 7 year old is not the bravest toaster on the planet, so we didn't hit the big rides for the most part, and there was still so much to do for him and his 5 year old brother/sister. my dh and I had been years ago pre-kids and didn't remember much about it, but were really pleasantly surprised by it. just a great day.

we didn't end up hitting the water park portion, but the rest was a lot of fun.

My son works there. We went this season. It was fun. We were there five hours (5-10 p.m.) and didn't do all the rides or the water stuff. However, it was crowded.

I went to Canobie Lake when you had to buy tickets. It is a nice, clean park. There is a restaurant near the swings (the big swings) and I sat outside during sunset. It was so pretty. You can also go on the boat but we missed it.

The lockers are not free. Hope you have fun. Oh, you can get discount tickets at Market Basket. If you go after five, there is a coupon on the Pepsi cans which is buy two tickets, get one free. We did this and it saved us forty dollars. I think the day pass is $4 dollars off.

My kids love Canobie! We go every year for my DH's company picnic and we all look forward to it. The water area is very small and the lockers will cost you a few bucks. Hope you have fun!
:thumbsup2

It is a nice little park. Quite old, too.

I don't know if it is still there, but many years ago there was a ballroom/dance hall on the grounds where name acts came and performed. Friends and I saw Sonny & Cher there the summer after high school graduation in 1966.

Have fun. When we lived in Hooksett many years ago my daughter and I used to go to Canobie most every week during the summer. A wonderful park! Always clean and well run.

Best wishes.

OP here! We went on Tuesday and had the time of our lives. My DD7 is kind of timid so big thrill rides are not her thing. She went on most of the rides and did the water stuff. We got there are 10 and it opened at 10:30 though most of the rides dont open until 11. We had to leave around 4 and did most of everything. I would drive the 2 hours to do it again. Thats funny to me because i am about 8 minutes from Six Flags and cant stand the place!

Kadysmom,
glad to hear you guys had such a great time. My Dd's love the big rides, so they have been after me to take them to Six Flags but I really don't want to brave the crowds etc even though I love the coaster as much as they do. Was it crowded?

not crowded at all. There were about 3 or 4 large coasters but the majority were not.

I saw a coupon a McDonalds in Mass for 4 bucks off admission to CaNOBIE, if that helps anyone...
