Me again! :teeth: Not that knowing beforehand is absolutely vital to the planning of my trip or anything, but I'm dying to know what kind of stuff you can find at the various WDW candy shops. Pictures would be great too :bitelip:

The candy shop on Mainstreet in the MK is wonderful! There is an overhead track that the candy travels around on, sort of Willy Wonka'ish. My DD proudly proclaimed one year that she was going to be a cotton candy lady at WDW when she grew up, while standing in this candy shop. Chocolate, hard candy, boxed candy, cotton candy, fudge, etc. Enjoy!! :cloud9:

They also sell my most favorite cookies anywhere!
They are amazing, big & yummy!
Even though I'm on Weight Watchers, I'll be cheating with a Main St cookie and I won't feel guilty about it 1 bit!
:)

The Main St. Candy shop in MK also has the BEST chocolate covered mickey pretzels, carmel apples, fudge...MMMMMM, it's one of my favorite stores to browse (ya right) I eat too :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

The best place to get Candy Apples(they use tart granny smiths) is the Candy Caudlron in Downtown Disney and Ghardelli's Ice Cream Shop for the best Hot Fudge Sundeas
(or any other yummie ice cream product you enjoy)!!!!

Disney Quest has a Cheesecake Factory too!

Goodings Supermarket in Lake Buena (yes, a supermarket) offers tasty
colorful (Disney themed) Birthday Cakes=for all of those in need of a cake=while on vacation-and the deserts are great too! they are at the Crossroads Shopping Plaza in LB!

Lots of ideas from this sweet toothed gal!!!!
enjoy! :cool1:

4 more weeks-time for another carmel apple! yummie! :bounce:

There is a candy shop in MGM on Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, that has the Mickey pretzels and caramel apples and all those wonderful things :mickeybar

OH YES THE CONFECTIONARY!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Somebody on another post mentioned something about a candy lady in Japan at Epcot. Does anyone know anything about her? :flower:

Oh My it's like the center of Willy Wonka's candy Factory..minus the chocolate river! I don't have pics, but there's huge mickey shaped rice crispy treats, marshmallows covered in chocolate and toppings on a stick, chocolate covered strawberries, mickey shaped pretzels covered in chocolate and w/ various toppings, and on and on..anything you can imagine is there. The fudge is yummy!

I read a lot about her. She does a show during which she makes animals out of a taffy-like candy and gives the, to people. Apparently, it's an ancient art in Japan and she's one of the few practitioners left.

Nobody's mentioned Downtown Disney. I think there's a couple of places there - Ghirardelli's, and another candy shop too, right? Anyone?

I don't know, but there's a site that has a schedule of all the live entertainment at WDW. I don't remember what the site is called, though. Can anyone help us out with this?

They are getting ready to open Goofy's Candy Kitchen ( I believe that's the exact name) at DTD Mplace. It use to be the Disney at Home store.

The candy store in the Italy pavilion in Epcot has the BEST chocolate in the entire world! It's so much better than American chocolate. The chocolate is very creamy and just melts in your mouth. I could just die thinking about it! :cloud9: The chocolates are individually wrapped.

My favorite candy place would have to be the Main Street Confectionary. They have a huge variety of candy and their fudge is amazing and comes in so many different flavors! I recommend the peanut butter and chocolate mix because it is so soft and flavorful :)

We saw her when we were there in January and she is wonderful. We had been waiting in line about 30-40 minutes and were next in line when she decided to take her break. I asked my 8 y/o GD what she wanted to do and she said "I want one of those candy sculptures and I don't care if I have to wait all day". (An 8 y/o volunteering to wait :confused3 .) My son said we were crazy and wandered off, while my GD and I sat down right in front of the cart and waited 1/2 hour. My GD got a yellow tiger and I got a blue kangeroo "with a baby in the pouch". Again she is wonderful, she talks the whole time she is doing it and keeps telling you it only takes one minute (which it does). We left them in the plastic bags she put them in and mine is sitting on top of my computer desk in a small flower pot.

You better be good though, because the whole time she is making them she somehow keeps an eye on what is going on around her and knows who is next and also who is being rude. She will give you 'that look'.

Miyuki makes them at a stand near the entrance into Japan. It has a blue sign or awning above it. She is only there for a short time, and she makes several appearances a day. Check Steve Soar's site for the times - he updates times for everything at the Disney parks every week.

his web page is http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

hope that helps
