I've booked a room there for our December trip. I've stayed in many different places but none are available during our time there.

It has good reviews, but wondering what dis folks think?

I like it. It's clean and comfortable, friendly staff, ok breakfast. They have their own free shuttle to D, but it's also close enough to walk. There's a pool, hot tub, and kiddie pool area, though when it's warm enough to splash around our youngest prefers the Hojo. So the Hojo is our warm month hotel and the CCI is the one we stay at when we don't care about swimming.

My BIL has stayed there 2x with his DD and he likes it a lot. It's close to the parks and it is clean. He just needs a room to sleep as he usually goes to the parks all day.

Every time we walk by it the grounds look great and are very well maintained.

Love it! Check out the link to my review in my sig. I first stayed there 2009, I think. Or 2010. But I've added a few updates to it and the pictures look pretty much how it does now. Wifi has improved since our first visit (but the coffee has not. :P. I rarely like hotel or restaurant coffee)

I also love Candy Cane and it is my go to DL hotel. I appreciate so much always how friendly the staff is and how clean the rooms are. For me, I absolutely love also the super soft beds and wonderful showers. I always make use of the shuttle (I need to save on walking) and that is always very prompt too. Have a wonderful trip!

I can't think of one bad thing to say about the Candy Cane, and come to think of it, I've never heard anyone else say anything bad about it either. Like everyone else said, the staff is friendly, rooms are clean, great breakfast and I love having the option of the shuttle!:thumbsup2

We love the Candy Cane Inn. It's clean, staff are friendly, and we like the free breakfast. They have the usual coffee, juices, milk, cereals, bagels, pastries, yogurt, but also hard boiled eggs, cheese, and peanut butter. Lot's of fruit. We always load up on the fruit to take into the park with us. If you need a scooter, they can refer you to the company they use, and it's delivered right in front of the hotel. Next door is the ABC Market with all the misc food items you might need. Plus they have a really good selection of Disneyland t-shirt, sweatshirts, lanyards, etc. at excellent prices. We stay there every time we go to Disneyland now.

We've only stayed once so far but it is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful , you can walk or take the free shuttle ,free parking , the breakfast is very plentiful with a variety of item,s including protein with hard boiled eggs and yogurts. The pool area is small but very nicely decorated with flowers and plants. The shuttle is always on time save for traffic and the drivers are all very nice. The rooms are comfortable and relatively spacious. The staff is always very courteous and helpful too. They also provide a coupon at checkout for $10 off per night your next stay that you can stack with other discounts like AP or AAA. I advise booking early ( you can always cancel) because it is a very popular destination.

We stayed for the first time in August, and we are booked again in November. It is a nice hotel. Our girls really loved the pool. Although it's in the parking area, they work hard to make it pretty. The breakfast was just fine, although nothing warm, all we need is a little something to tide us over until mid morning snack. It was clean, and very close to the park. I originally booked on purpose for the shuttle because this was our DD6's first time having to walk everywhere, and we always come back to the hotel for a swim. So I thought it would be nice to be able to use the shuttle to allow her to not have to walk all through the parks, but multiple trips back and forth between the hotel. Unfortunately, it was often late or delayed during our 9 day stay. Multiple times, the driver was late arriving to work, so they had to use a little van, so not everyone would get on. Or we would be waiting at the park for the shuttle and it just wouldn't show up. Very frustrating. That's my only issue with the place, though.

I just got back today from a four-day stay at CCI! It was great.
  • Beds are super-comfortable, as are the pillows (I hate hard, thin hotel pillows - the ones at CCI are super-squishy and comfortable). I'm really picky, and was very pleased with the bed quality.
  • Grounds are very pretty, and everything was very neat and clean.
  • We got a premium room. It was very nice - very roomy. Has a microwave in addition to the fridge that the other room categories have. In the prevmium rooms, they provide lots of little extras like complimentary bottled water, dvd/vcr player (with a coupon for one free DVD each night from their "library"), snacks like microwave popcorn and cookies, late check-out on your departure day (2:00 pm). They'll even deliver your breakfast to your room, if you want! We didn't do that, but it was nice to have it available.
  • The shuttle to the parks leaves on the half hour. Very handy when you have tired feet at the end of the day! But the walk from the hotel isn't bad at all, maybe the equivalent of 8 blocks. Our shuttle driver was always on time.
  • Be aware that the hotel doesn't have an elevator. If you have lots of heavy luggage, or have to lug a stroller up steps, request a ground-floor room.
  • The deluxe continental breakfast was quite good. Fruit (bananas and apples), juice, pastries, croissants, bagels and bread (and a toaster), oatmeal, cold cereal including granoa, yogurt, cheese, and hard boiled eggs. I'm not a huge breakfast eater, so it was fine for my needs.
  • There's a CVS pharmacy about a half-block away. It's very handy; needed to pick up a couple of things, and it was so close.
  • Be sure to check on any discounts available, including AAA, AARP, and military. Saved us 15%.
  • Parking is included in the room cost; lots of other hotels charge for parking.
I highly recommend CCI!

Just stayed there last week. It's our go-to spot. We love it for the following reasons:
* Comfy beds, super clean rooms
* Friendly, helpful staff, a step above other places we have stayed
* Breakfast - Yogurt, cheese, hard boiled eggs for protein - bagels (with two cute "moving toasters" regular toaster too - pastries and muffins - fruit - cereal, juices, hot chocolate, coffee and milk
* Complementary, exclusive shuttle that leaves Candy Cane on the 1/4 & 3/4 hour and the park on the hour and half hour
* Will charge your ECV at nights, I like Deckert $125 for 5 days
* CVS pharmacy is across the street and ABC Market on the corner
* Free parking
* Mini fridge

We love the CCI, too. Also, if you need to book for friends, the staff is super accommodating. We made reservations for friends from abroad who spoke very limited English. The staff took care of all their needs, fulfilled all the requests we made on their behalf, and kept an eye out for any possible problems during their stay (my request!). Our friends were so impressed that they now say they won't stay anywhere else when they visit DLR.

We stayed there earlier this year, and loved it. Everybody has covered all the good things about it, so I'll cover the *only* negative thing I could think of:

The pool is open really late (11:00), and since it's right in the middle of the parking lot, there's a good chance of having kids making noise at the pool until it closes. It happened every night of our trip, and made falling asleep early difficult.

We prefer to be closer. It was nice enough but being farther away for more money doesn't work for us.

We're staying there in December for 8 nights in a premium room. I'm looking forward to it. I like that we can have breakfast delivered to our room, and the free parking and late checkout are nice perks. I also like that it's on the same side of Harbor as the parks. I hate crossing Harbor - the light takes so long and it's like herding cattle at that crosswalk!
