I'm really trying to not complain... but the first price increase felt like enough? I know they've made many improvements and offer a lot of amenities, but it feels like it's no longer a "budget" hotel.

Looking at dates in May/June/July/August/September/October/Etc., the room rates are up to $299... Even their smallest rooms are now up to $239, when just a few weeks ago they were $179. Does anyone else feel it's a bit too much? Any recommendations for alternative hotels?

Unfortunately, prices are up across the board since the reopening of the parks. We just booked CCI for June and got the premium room for $249. I thought that was a pretty good rate considering we get late check out at 2 and breakfast delivered to our room.

Other places with breakfast included are Home2Suites, Element, Hyatt house, both Best Westerns on harbor, Cambria, holiday inn on Manchester, Hampton Inn, Springhill suites, homewood suites, embassy suites, residence inn, desert palms, BW stovalls. And I’m sure there is more I’m forgetting at the moment….

If you’re looking to spend less overall, I would look outside of Anaheim as they have pretty high taxes for hotels. We like orange if we want to stay a bit further away.

Hope that helps!

Which room did you get for $249? If it's one of the premium or deluxe rooms, that's the price they used to be when I checked last week, now those rooms are $289-299 pretty much across the calendar, even on week days. The standard rooms are now $239+.

I understand rate increases, but they already did a pretty big rate increase when they re-opened 3 months ago. So, compared to their old pricing it's quite significant.

It was the premium room. We are only staying one night before we meet friends to check into a different hotel and we needed the later check out.

Depending on our budget, we sometimes pick to stay further away unfortunately. Some of the hotels within walking distance have gone up SO much! I’d have to say our favorite lately was the Cambria. The room is so much bigger and they have a hot breakfast included. We would just walk to Toy Story and take the shuttle from there. But, they did have a resort fee. And parking fee. And that added up fast!

It’s becoming a lot more difficult to get a good rate. Are you AAA or a magic key holder? I got $10 off a night at CCI for that.

All about Supply vs Demand. Hospitality has jumped (and continues to increase weekly) across nearly all properties/brands.
I can stay at Best Western or Park Vue right across the street for less, so I will probably do that. $300 a night is just too much, heck we paid around $400 to stay at the DLH hotel on our last trip.

I think I recognize you from your youtube hotel room tours and real-time walk videos btw! Your videos are excellent! Might be something you'd want to warn others about in your video descriptions though, because the price jumped quite a bit since then. Your videos are admittedly why we chose CCI in the first place, and we typically love them. That price hike is a real bummer though.

Yep! I do, but I don't feel like it's just Candy Cane. I'm surprised you can get BWPPI for less. I got BWPPI for $189 last October, the same dates for this October are $330!! While I feel like the price increases in Anaheim are more extreme, it's happening everywhere I travel. I'm paying at least 35% more than I did pre-pandemic.

I'm looking at Best Western and Park Vue now. Park Vue is $75+ cheaper and BW is about $50+ cheaper per night. The rooms are bigger and they are closer to the park. The price was what made the 10min walk to Candy Cane Inn worth it. Now I'm not sure why we wouldn't just stay closer and in nicer bigger rooms for less.

Also, I'd expect that around Halloween or other holidays. This price increase for CCI lasts from now until the end of the year. Weekdays aren't any cheaper either. When I emailed them and asked about it they said that's their "peak rate" pricing and to try looking further into the year past summer, but the pricing is the same.

It feels like prices are going up everywhere and for everything. The Wicked Broadway digital lottery is $64 a ticket……***. (For reference other digital rush tickets are still between $35 and $47)

Trying to go anywhere or do anything is rough.

Well, luckily Park Vue and Best Western are about the same as they've always been, so I think we'll just take our business there. It's a bummer because we loved CCI, but the perks don't match the price for me anymore.

For example, I'm looking at June 9th - June 11th. At CCI it's $239 for a very small Standard Room, while at Park Vue it's only $209 for a much bigger 2 queen room. Even with taxes and fees included, it's cheaper to stay at Park Vue. We don't really like the CCI standard rooms because they really feel cramped with nowhere to put your luggage (even with just 2 people), so we'd be looking at $269+. For $150-200 less (for the whole stay), I'd pick Park Vue. Plus, you can't beat the walk.

Yes! That’s me ☺️ so happy you find the videos helpful! We also really loved our stay at Park Vue. Cannot beat that location!!

Quality Inn is pretty basic but has breakfast in the morning and is pretty close to the park. Might be worth looking at especially if you aren't planning on hanging out in your room or need a big fancy pool. If you just need a place to crash its not bad IMO.

I am not sure when your last trip to the DLH was, but I just did a quick look at DLH for weeknights during the months that you mentioned (because only Sun-Thursday nights are included on the "Spring Hotel Room Savings Offer"). The lowest I saw was in April for $462. For every other date that I looked at during the promotion (ends in June), the lowest I could find was $490 (with the promotion) and almost all of the weeks were well above $500-600/night, even with the promotion. Once the promotion ends in June, even a Standard Room was $631 and up. So I think the prices at the DLH (and every hotel) have gone up. Not a fun reality for us travelers, but true!!

For these dates, DLH is $631 for a Standard View. Ugh!! So maybe the CCI and the PV are not such a bad deal!

We got used to paying $300 per night at the Springhill Suites. CCI seems cheap to me

I never thought of them as a "budget" place to stay, it's always been out of my price range for Disneyland.
So many cheaper places and I'm only at my room to sleep and shower, I don't need any upgrades, just a bed.

The reason why hotels and motels raise their prices is because now that Spring has arrived many hotels and motels around Anaheim have now begun to have their springtime prices especially with Spring Break and Easter on April 9th this year. With Candy Cane Inn I mainly think they raised prices on their rooms because when they were doing their long renovation they lost a lot of their fans who liked to stay there for their Disneyland vacations. But after they reopened Candy Cane Inn decided to welcome back their fans by doing this price raising. But I think due to this price raising deal Candy Cane Inn will lose business and fans but will regain fans and lower prices for the fall and winter. Because the travel magazines has always said "when you are going on vacation and you want to find a hotel or motel that's cheaper for your money it's best to check the nearby cities rather than the city you're visiting". Because if you visit Disneyland and you want to stay in Anaheim but the hotels and motels in Anaheim are pricey you can check out the cities like Orange Buena Park and Whittier for good priced hotels and motels to get to Disneyland. But what I think will happen is that Candy Cane Inn will start advertising deals and discounts to get the people in and during Summer the prices will be cheaper there so in my eyes it is best to wait for a better deal at Candy Cane Inn
