Candy cane inn - always the same rates?

Are the best rates for the candy cane inn always on their own website? Their AAA rates are 92.00 a nite is that pretty much the cheapest anyone has ever paid?

That sounds pretty good, especially when you throw in the free breakfast and shuttle. I have never seen the Candy Cane Inn listed on anything else (Expedia, Hotwire and the like). I think they are small enough, with a loyal enough following, they don't need to sell blocks of rooms to travel sites.

That a great rate for the CCI. It's a superior hotel with a great breakfast and it's own shuttle - our favorite!

I think we paid $82 for a deluxe room, but that was a couple of years ago. I called the hotel direct and dealt with the desk clerk. He gave me the best rate, which was and internet rate if I remember correctly. (I mentioned it to him, having seen it online.)

Candy Cane doesn't deal with expedia or orbitz, so you won't see them there. Although it is a nice property with lovely rooms, it's still a motel. It's a step up from most of the other motels around, but its rates have been steadily increasing. It just really depends on what's important to you. I think people are willing to pay for something nice around there, since so many of the offsite properties are pretty basic.

What makes it worth the extra $$$ are the nicely decorated rooms with comfy beds, good breakfasts, pretty grounds, and free private shuttle to the parks.

However, if you just want a basic, close, clean place, you can pay a little less and stay at one of the motels right across from the entrance on Harbor.

I am going to be staying there in Sept and am very excited. Do the doors to the rooms open outside or is there an interior hallway?

It has 2 stories. There is no internal hallway.
You will love your stay there. It is our favorite place to stay if we are not staying onsite.

We were there in November and were told that $92 AAA rate was the lowest they go. It is a very good value for that price with the close location (easy walk), comfortable well appointed rooms, lovely grounds, good continental breakfast and the dedicated shuttle.

I am looking into the Candy Cane Inn for our trip in August and I have called them and the lowest rate they would give (even for renting 9 rooms) was the Standard Rate and then lower if you have a AAA card.

I wanted to point out that the AAA rate for a Standard room is now $97 per night instead of 92.

We found the same thing...we had 7 rooms booked and AAA was the best we could do. We are glad we chose it though...very good value for the $. That $5 jump was quick! Only 2 months since we paid $92 - that is a 5% increase!

Did you get the AAA rate on all of your 7 rooms? Did you need to use your AAA card?

When I called the hotel he would only give me the Standard Room rates with the exception of 2 AAA discount rooms as long as I had the card.

Hi,

Four people in our party were AAA members (BCAA really but it still counts). They said we could get two rooms on the AAA rate with each card so all 7 would get the discount. They photocopied the membership cards when we checked in and attached them to the booking form so that we were not charged the full rate when we checked out. One of our party forgot her card at home and they charged her full rate but refunded the difference when she got home and faxed them a copy of her card. I made the booking and held all the rooms on my credit card. You should be able to get the discount on all the rooms if enough people in your party are AAA members....Good luck!
