We decided to to go for the first time during December so we want to try this. But what restaurant?

DH and I have eaten at R&C, and Makaresh and neigher of these would be great for our kids.

As a family we have done Via Napoli, Le Cellier and Les Chefs, Via Napoli is way overrated IMHO and we loved LesChefs but want something new. Le Cellier was great the first time and just okay last time so again we want something differnt.

My first 3 choices would be

San Angel- How is the food? Place always looks neat but menu is very limited?

Hacienda- Food, ambiance, do kids like it?

and Garden Grill Pricy for kids but would probably be a winner,

Thoughts, suggestions.

I am considering Teppan Edo except I am afaid my kids would be really disappointed. We do Hibachi/Teppanki several times a year at a place near our house and all meals are served with soup, salad, shrimp, entree, veg, FRIED rice, and noodles.

They are so spoiled I am afraid they would be really annoyed not to get soup, salad and FRIED rice. :rotfl2:

Nine Dragons does not really appeal to us, and I am not sure if my husband would like the Italian place.

Thanks, we want to do the early dinner 6:45 show so if our youngest wants to skip Illuminations, then he and I can leave.

We are staying on DVC points so not sure about DDP or not, but given the number of points it will probably be a combination of credits/oop depending on where we go.

Of the three you've listed, I would go with Hacienda, although I've not eaten there.

It does get more consistently good reviews than San Angel. San Angel is definitely a hit or miss.

Garden Grill would be a good alternative too and you do get characters with your meal!

If you have children go to Biergarten. The setting is a bavarian village and christmas tree is on stage. The show brings the children to the stage and gives them a surprise. We like the food too. I think it is the most Christmasy restaurant in epcot. Also, it is the cheapest place to eat for the processional:thumbsup2

I would list the restaurants according to your likings. Then, call Disney Dining and see what is actually available for your night, and time frame. You may not be able to book the restaurant that is your first choice. You may not even be able to book the show of your choice.
No way of knowing until you call and see what is available.
