Candlelight Processional

We were not able to get dinner reservations for the Candlelight Processional. When we were on the phone with dining they said that you don't have to go into the theater that you can see and hear everything by standing in the back outside the theater. Is this true? What are your best suggestions to see the show (time to go, strategies, ect.)?

If you want to sit in the theater, then line up EARLY (if you go to the 2nd or 3rd show, you can hear it from the line).

If you just want to hear it, I would go to America and just sit around. You could get food and eat and listen. We went on 11/27 and it was great. I highly receommend it.

yes its true as it is an open air theatre. however, you can still get into the theatre without a dinner pckg. get there early and get on line. it is a great show and nice to have a seat! enjoy!

We attended November 30th. Loved it!!! We had the package and lined up 45 minutes ahead of time in the "package" line and still were not close to the front of the line.

If you will be going without the package I would check out the stand by line at least an hour before the show. I read on here, many people saying to line up about 1/2 hour before, but from what I saw, I just don't know about that.

Yes, you can stand in the back outside the theatre. If nobody is in front of you you might even get an ok view, and you'll hear everything. That said, this show should be enjoyed from a seat inside the theatre.

You can get a seat without a dinner package. How early you have to line up depends on when you are going. Which week, day of the week, show time.

We were there the week after Thanksgiving. That week, at least the day we waited on line, we got on the line 20 minutes before showtime and got a seat. Yes, people had been on line for A LOT longer. We saw people on the stand by line over an hour before the early show, and I'm sure that wasn't necessary. If you will only be in Epcot one night, it's worth investing some time in line, but if you'll be there more than one night i'd wait until closer to showtime and jump on the end of the line.......unless you are there on a weekend or close to Christmas.

Two years ago we went the day after Christmas with Gary Sinise as the narrator. Can't get any better than that. Anyway, we sat in the outdoor Liberty Inn seating area and waited until the stand by line started moving. Then we went to the back of the line and got pretty good seats. You will not be in the very front but as long as a tree (which are thin anyway) aren't right in front of the narrator, you'll be fine.

If you just want to hear it, sit in the Liberty Inn outside seating area.

We have reserved seats at the 8:15 show on 12/11. Does anyone know a plan for seeing illuminations after the show?

We saw the first show on 11/30. We did not have the package. We got in line @ about 4:30. The cast members running the lines have a good idea about the # of people. I asked one when we got in line if we would make it into the theater. He said that there were x amount of people in the package line and about x amount of people infront of me and that the theater holds 1500 people if they all squeeze in. We had great seats and could see and hear everything. Give it a shot!!

Yes, you can see this behind the fence as long as you're not right in front of the rope drops. We have done this for a few years now. Sure I'd like to get a seat inside, but with children, it's too hard to stand in line for an hour. We have sat at the American pavilion eating and trying to listen to them, which is a good idea, but only if you don't have someone noisy sitting nearby.

After the show, go to the left and head over to Germany. There's an overhang directly across from the shop that sells Hummels (check it out on the way to the Processional so you know where it is). Our favorite spot and usually not noticed until about 15-30 minutes before the show.

Which side of the theater does the standby line form? If you're standing on the sidewalk looking at the theater, is it on the left or right? I want to make sure I get in the right one!

When we were there on Wednesday night, the standby line was on the right of the theater and the package line was on the left.
