This is the latest email I received from my friend in CRO/WDTC

"This just in!! 2005 Candlelight dinner package is now part of the dining package. Only one table service for all participating restaurants except Coral Reef which requires 2."

It's true! I just booked for 12/2 at Restaurant Marrakesh! The CM said they just received an email today, and it's only 1 dining credit - except for Coral Reef which is 2.

I had to guarantee with credit card, but it will not be charged.

HOORAY!!!

Just called Disney Dining and for those who paid for the dinner package already, they said just to call and they will credit your credit card back the money charged. She said they will ask for a credit card to hold the reservation and will only charge if you do not cancel 48 hours ahead of time or are a no-show.

whoo hoo.....I called back again, and rebooked my CP dinner. We were eating at Rose and Crown, and it was costing me $179.93!!

Best news I've had all day!! I was having a hard time justifying the CP dinner package out of pocket when we would already be eating six table service meals, but went ahead since it may be years before we are back at Disney in December.

Now we have $85 more for spending money!!

OMG these boards are GREAT . My DH doesn't quite understand why I'm on here each day - this is why!!! We are on the dining package in December and I wasn't planning on doing the CP if we had to pay OOP, but I just called and booked Garden Grill for our family on 12/23!

It's on the Disning plan but they won't give you a discount using the DDE card. What's up with that?

I agree Biddler. This just doesn't make sense. I love my DDE card and the savings. However, I understood that I wasn't going to be able to use it for the Candlelight...okay. That said, I'm a little frustrated now that there's news that the Candlelight package can be included in the dining plan.

I wasnt going to book because I didnt want to pay the extra outside of the dining pkg. I am so happy now. I booked for christmas eve the 8:15 show with dinner at Le Cellier at 5pm. I am really looking forward to this since I have never seen it before!! Thanks for the info

This is crazy, we had to spend $46 for Le Cellier CP, now someone who pays $35 for an entire day on the meal plan gets this for one credit...totally unfair. The meal plan is out of control.

Why not get on the meal plan yourself then? It really is a great deal and can save you a ton of money! As far as it being unfair I really do not see how??

Antkim, I already have an AP so I can't take advantage of this. My point was
simply was that it costs $46 just for the CP package vs $35 for a whole day of meals (and only one credit to boot!). It would be nice if they would let us AP holders use the DDE discount for the package so we could have a comparable perk what the meal plan users are getting. My language was a little too strong on my original post...I think I was in a state of shock...
