Hi, We've done the Candlelight Processional Dinner package before but I want to do something a little unique and I'm not sure how to approach it. I'm wondering if anyone has been in this situation before.

This December, my mom, dad, sister, neice, my two sons, and I are heading to Disney for a vacation (husbands staying home this time except for my dear dad). I wanted to do a Candlelight Dinner package at the Garden Grill. However (and this is where it gets tricky), only my sister and I are going to go to the Candlelight Processional while my parents take the kids to do something else. The kids have seen the Candlelight Processional before and aren't interested in doing it again and my parents are going on another night.

So my question is... Can you make a reservation for 7 at the Garden Grille with only 2 of the people being part of the Candlelight package? Or is it the same price and it would be easier just to reserve it for the whole group but not have everyone head over for the show (because my understanding is they give any empty seats on the benches to those waiting in line after a certain time period)?

Thanks for your help!

Christine

I would suggest that you look at the pricing. The question will be "is it advantageous to pay the CP rate or would money be saved at the menu price (plus tax and tip)?" If you are better off with the CP package, get it for everyone.

They are always able to fill in empty seat at show time. You might find that the rest of the family does want to atend.

Forget the CP "dinner-deal." Certainly do not pay the premium you would have to pay for CP for 7 people! Have a nice meal somewhere with everyone & then go to the "standby entrance." Go there at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of CP & you are very likely going to have a seat for CP. We went four times in '04 & never had a problem with standby. In fact, everyone in the standby line was seated every time we were there.

Not totally sure about this, but I would consider booking the CP package for 2 and making a separate PS for the party of 5, then check in early and request to sit together. Just an idea. Disney usually does its best to accommodate.
