Never done this before. I booked the dinner at Rose & Crown for 5pm with the 8:15 showtime. Will we have enough time between dinner and the show to explore World Showcase? Also will we have enough time to get to the illuminations viewing area before it starts or should i switch out meal and showtime?

A - you will have some time to explore, but probably not tons of time. We had a 5:30-ish reservation (at Tutto) for the 8:15 show a few years ago and by the time we were done with dining, we didn't really have any extra time. We walked straight down to the theatre and there was already a pretty long line for the package holders, this was around 7:30 I think, so we just got in line. Your reservation is a bit earlier, and if it's not as crowded that night, you would have some more time (or if your dinner doesn't take as long). But you wouldn't have hours to wander WS.

B - As for the fireworks, I have heard it's very difficult to make it over to the viewing area for the fireworks if you see the last show. I have no personal experience with that one, just repeating things I've read here. Others may disagree.

We are doing this package for Christmas. Our reservations are for 5:00pm. If we arrive 15 minutes before the show, will we still get seats? I was under the impression that we are guaranteed seats. And whoa I had no idea that it would be hard to get to the fireworks viewing area! I am rethinking using
2 dining credits for this. Is it worth it?

You are not necessarily guaranteed seats if you show up close to showtime. As it gets closer to the show, they will let in the standby line to fill up the open seats. And even if you do get seats, you could be behind the standby folks. We were in line about 45 minutes prior to showtime when we went (and we were back by Japan) when we got in the line.
