So we just figured out that the only way we could vacation this year is to travel in the week between Christmas and New Year's. This is due to DH just getting a new job and won't have vacation time until after February. As a teacher I can only travel on school vacations or summer and DH has been told he cannot travel during the summer as it's his company's busiest time. I have decided I'd like to do a beach vacation most likely in Mexico. I have researched a bit and found the Crown paradise club because very mixed reviews and curious if anyone has ever been there before as it is very reasonably priced for that time of year. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

We went to the same resort in Puerto Vallerta. We did not stay there, we were on a day pass for a cruise. Given what we saw of it I would NOT stay there. Everything seemed very run down and old. We ate at a couple of their restaurants and were completely disappointed.

I would NOT stay there. There are lots of other places in Cancun that I would stay but that's not one of them.

Granted we did not visit the one in Cancun, but I personally would assume we would have the same/similar experience.

Both of these have good info for family resorts in Mexico.

we have been twice with our 4 children and loved it. Ask away :cool1:
Thank you. We don't spend too much time in the room so that is not a major issue. We will however use the beach/pool/ water slides ect. Can you please tell me about these things? Thank you.
I can stay at the hard rock for $4500 but the CPC is $2800.

The rooms were nice and clean. beds were hard, but you can request a mattress topper. Main pool is so much fun, tons of kids activities going on all day...soccer, football, dodge ball, racing, bingo, volleyball.. Slide were also great...2 big ones, a zip line, a rock climbing wall. In the kids club area which we we barely used because there was so much activity at main pool we didn't need it had small slides for younger kids. We did use the kids club one night so we could do the adult only restaurant. Beach was beautiful, water is rough kids need to go in with a parent. There is an awesome huge gameroom at this resort which you do not see in many places that was adjacent to a sports bar so you could hang out and relax while the kids played.

I am assuming you have children:confused3 It is very family oriented

We stayed there (but it was a long time ago as it was one of the first places we stayed with kids) and it really is the lowest on our list of places we have stayed at. My kids much preferred the Gran Caribe Real and the Great Parnassus (great value, but loud and lots of kids), Beach Palace and Moon Palace. We have been to others but those are the ones they mention the most.

For a week in Mexico I find you can make almost any place work as you wont starve in that amount of time if there isn't great food choices even if you eat the same thing :rotfl: We tend to go for 10-14 days at a time so important to us to have a variety of food choices and activities for the kids when they were younger (they are teens now)

Yes I have 2 kids DS 9 and DS 6. They both love the pool, beach, slides ect.
We were strongly considering The moon palace or the hard rock hotel in Cancun due to the activities for the kids that they had as well as the moon palace having dolphins and the flow rider. Although the moon palace and hard rock are $1700 more they do come with $1500 resort credits for us to do tours and the dolphin exhibit massages etc. thanks for he help
