Cancelling last day of room only stay at WDW

How far in advance can I cancel the last day of a 7 day vacation if need be without penalty? Our flight on Sunday morning is at 8:45 am and I am watching for discounts at the airport Hyatt but they don't come up until a few days before.

But are you only wanting to drop the 1 night at the end of a longer stay? Be aware you may receive pushback, especially if you booked with any discount or special offer no longer available. Technically the shorter reservation needs to be available as a new booking to modify. WDW doesn’t like to leave “orphan” room nights.

Yes, I would be wanting to drop 1 night at the end of a 7 day stay. It would be a Saturday night.

Right now that night is $500 CAN at the Hyatt and way too expensive to book, but if it comes down to $300 CAN (as it often does), it would be nice to stay there on the Saturday night instead of having to take Mears Connect at 5:45 am on Sunday morning to catch our 8:45 am flight.

The thing is, that Hyatt discount doesn't happen way in advance.

Why don't you book them separately? One 6 night reservation and then a single 1-night reservation?

It's already booked for this month. When we booked, we didn't realize that the Hyatt discounts their rooms in the last week or so, depending on their occupancy.
