If you decide to remove DDP(or change to QSDP) from your reservation, do your dining ADR's automatically get cancelled as well? I was wondering if they were somehow linked or if you could choose to keep the ones that you wanted.
I would think they're two different things. People without the DDP can make the reservations, so it shouldn't affect it. You may want to call and do it over the phone though, just to be on the safe side...
Absolutely nothing will happen to Dining Reservations if the Resort Reservation/Package is changed or cancelled. They are simply not associated with each other in that manner.
The association between Resort and Dining Reservations comes into play in two distinct points.
Authorizing of 180+10. The resort confirmation number opens up the extra days on the calendar*.
Associating a Dining Plan to the reservation. If the Resort Package has a Dining Plan attached that could be used to cover the meal, it will be notated on the Dining Reservation.**
Both of these associations are done when the Dining Reservation is made and are not updated with changes to the Resort Reservation.
*Right now, this isn't working too well on the online system. See 190day glitch thread on the Dining Reservations board for more detail
**Of course, this isn't working well either right now. Most of the time, the dinner shows and CRT are not correctlying picking up a Resort Confirmation, forcing both 180 day from dining and full pre-pay if done online. A phone call at the 180 day mark before check-in will work just fine though.
