Cancelling an excursiom

My family is sailing on the Fantasy this Saturday. We decided to cancel an excursion today. I was able to cancel it online with no problems. However, my brother-in-law, who is in the cabin next to us, tried to cancel the same excursion and got a message that it could not be cancelled. Anyone know why this would be the case?

Are your reservations linked? Is it possible when you canceled, you actually did so for the full party (including guests in your BIL's cabin)? Otherwise, if it's still showing on his activities, I would call. You have until 3 days prior to departure to cancel most excursions without penalty.

Are your reservations linked and were you trying to make the change at the same time? If your reservations are linked, only one person can be in making changes at a time. So if you were in your reservation, your brother-in-law would not be able to make any changes to his reservation (even though it is a separate #) until you have closed down your session. (Even then, we have found that it may lock you out for 20-30 minutes.)

This could be the case. He ended up calling and canceling (after waiting on hold for almost an hour! ) so it’s a done deal now. Thank y’all for the advice!

The same thing happened to us. I called and cancelled the excursion but it is still showing under my cruise activities.

His still showed all day yesterday but dropped off sometime overnight.
