I have a reservation that needs to be cancelled, the problem it's within the 30 days window. I'm trying to rent the whole reservation with very little interest. What happens with the points if I cancel, I'm assuming the points will go into a holding account and those points will expire at the end of my use year which is August. Is there any other options, like depositing them into Interval International, etc.? The reservation begins the end of this month, any suggestions of when I should cancel and how should I handle cancelling this reservation? Thanks.

I think you still have time to deposit the points into II. Barring that, they will be in holding and expire end of July.

Maybe try to rent the points not tied to the reservation instead and then book single nights here or here?

In this case, the holding status is a non-event as you are already past the banking deadline and you are roughly 60 days out from the end of your use year (OK, might need to wait until tomorrow to book a single night on July 31st). As Sandi has stated, try booking individual nights for rent or try one of the brokers, such as the board sponsor.

How many points is the reservation?

Like MattyB13 said, put them on the Rental Board for $10 dollars a point and it will sell quickly.

I would think you could get $13-14 easily. Most non-distressed points are going for 18-20. hardest part is finding the open nights!

Another question is there anyway I can split a reservation without losing the confirmed dates

Not that I know of, but you can drop nights from the front or back and rebook them as you go if they don't get snapped up by a waitlist.

Edit: sometimes the dropped nights will appear to be held back for a bit and then show back up.

They won’t split a reservation into two so as suggested, you’d need to drop a night and hope the waitlist doesn’t snag it and pick it back up.

I have done this..one night at a time..to move it to a different membership but it took work and luck. One time it didn’t work.

Thanks, if needed I'll do that and keep my fingers crossed
