Hey! I'm not new to the WDW portion of trip planning and I had booked a trip for this coming december in WDW, but I decided to go to grad school in Santa Barbara so now I'm looking into getting the scoop on Disneyland. I have the Disneyland Encyclopedia but I feel like I'm starting all over again. I could tell anybody what to do to plan a trip to WDW but I don't know anything about DL. Anaheim is only 2 hours away from where I'm moving so I will probably be a frequent visitor. Are there any things like touringplans.com for Disneyland? I saw that there are only 3 resorts and I can't get very much info about them. Any pointers will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

The best part about DL is it takes very little planning for a trip unlike WDW. Last minute trips are easy to do for those quick Disney fixes.

Hope your move goes smoothly, and welcome to the left coast! :welcome:

There's a sticky thread at the top of this forum by Hydroguy, his Tips Compilation. In it there's a couple of threads about DL for WDW vets, that are right up your alley. There's tons of other good info on there about the best way to do the parks.

Another good reference guide to have on hand is the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. It's a fun read, as well as practical, though as with most guidebooks, there are a few minor inaccuracies. Mostly I found it handy to have for phone/address/ map info quick references.

There's also Ridemax for Disneyland, for touring plans. www.ridemax.com. That's fun to play around with, and can pump out a pretty good pre-made plan for you.

HTH! :)

Congratulations on your choice of graduate school, how exciting!!

Waiting to begin your trip to DL is far harder than it is to plan it. Yes, there are only 3 resorts but there are tons of "good neighbor" hotels that are great. Most are within walking distance of the 2 parks. You won't be overwhelmed with all of the choices you have to make as in WDW.

The websites that PP suggested are awesome and have great info. TripAdvisor has some great pictures of hotels in the area, as well.
