Cancelled Spirit of Aloha

I just cancelled our Spirit of Aloha reservations for reservations at Narcoossee's. We are a family of 5 (dd11, dd9, ds5). Keep in mind we are going to do Hoop Dee Do and a few character meals during our stay. I just have read too many luke warm reviews od SoA and just had friends to it and tell us it was just ok. Did I make the right choice?

I am thinking of doing the same thing. Have you ever been to Narcoosee's? Just wondering if the food is good.

We have NOT been to the Spirit of Aloha, but we HAVE been to Narcoosee's. And let me tell you, it was awesome! Very posh...and I drank a little too much....hee hee

The food was awesome, and the BEST part (which I didn't even realize ahead of time) was that they dimmed the lights really really low and switched the music so we could hear/see the fireworks. Plus there's a deck to walk out on to watch outside- it's super romantic!
Oh, and my dish had a pepperocini or something in it, and it was a hidden Mickey!!! I took a picture....how do I upload it on here?

Downside? Pain in our behind to get to. It's at the Grand Floridian, which for us, staying at the AKL was annoying. It was a $22 cab ride, each way, and THEN we had to walk all the way through and out the back of the hotel to the restaurant.
Yes, we could have skipped the cab and bussed it over, but we are impatient and didn't want to deal with the commuting for an hour or whatever.

All in all, we loved the restaurant. It's super delicious and the servers were awesome!!!!
