Cancelled resort reservation but no email and no refund one week later

Last week I cancelled a resort reservation and I am pretty sure (but not positive) that the person said I would be getting an email confirming the cancellation. I have not gotten that email, nor have I gotten a refund to my credit card for the deposit. But the reservation no longer shows up on MDE.

Anyone cancel a reset reservation recently? Did you get an email confirming the cancellation?

I don't' know that I've actually out right cancelled a reservation without booking another but it seems to me the same things would happen. I've never gotten a cancellation email in those circumstances.

I will also add that it can take awhile for refunds to show up. we switched from ro to a package once and they refunded the deposit and took another $200 one. it was at least 2 weeks before they refunded us.

From my experience there is no email for cancelled reside. I did see my credit in about a week at most.

I don't think it usually takes that long, but they usually tell people that refunds can take up to two billing cycles to hit your credit card.

I've never gotten a cancellation email either, but my refunds have always come through within 2-3 days of cancelling. With that said, Disney processes refunds right away, but the wait time for it show up can vary depending on the cc company/bank and how quickly it's processed on their end. Some take as little as a few days, while others can take up to 2 billing cycles to show up.

Thanks - I really do think the person at Disney said I would get an email, but if no one else is getting one then I won't worry about it.

I will call the credit card company in a few days to check and see if they can tell me when to expect the refund. I also cancelled an Expedia reservation at the same time and that one showed up two days later.

As others have said, they never send cancellation emails. When I cancel a reservation, I usually can expect the refund to go back to my CC within about 10 days to 2 weeks.
Disney is relatively slower than some other merchants like Expedia.

The CM I spoke to when I cancelled a reservation said something about an e-form? Anyone know what that is? I have not received that you or my refund. It's not a full week for me yet but I was considered was the e-form is. Anyone else have this before?

I'm not sure what the CM was talking about as I've never heard of an e-form :confused3. I have never had credits take more than 2-3 days to show up, but sometimes they do take a week or more, it just depends on your bank. If it would give you peace of mind, you could always call back to make sure the reservation was indeed cancelled and mention the e-form and see what the CM says about it. Good luck.

Whenever I have cancelled, I have been told that my confirmation # for the cancellation remains the same as when I booked.

I have never received an email confirming the cancellation.

I have never waited longer than 3 days for a refund to show up back in my account.

Hope that helps. :goodvibes

You can always look up your original reservation number online just to make sure it was cancelled if your concerned.

Thanks everyone! I will give it a full week before I call. I used my Disney visa if anyone had used that before and cancelled

Just checked chase...was refunded! No email and took around 5 days (with weekend). Just so anyone knows who searches this question in the future like me!

They still haven't responded to a negative report I sent from an Animal Kingdom stay 2 weeks ago! I don't usually complain but broken glass and old oreo cookies for my toddler to get into was not acceptable!
