Cancelled Netflix? What's your new plan?

We signed up for a free month trial with Blockbuster. Our first batch of DVD's were mailed out today, and expected delivery is Thursday/Friday. (Same delivery time frame as Netflix, so that's nice.)

We'll see how we like Blockbuster during this free trial period. What I find appealing about Blockbuster is the layout of their website. I like how the movies and categories are laid out. Plus Blu Ray option is included at no extra charge.

However, all the Blockbuster stores in our city have closed so we can't take advantage of taking our mailed DVD's into the store and exchange them.

Cancelled Netflix right before the billing day in Sept... I really haven't missed it. We have 3 months of free HBO/Cinemax now so we aren't hurting.

The Netflix iPhone app was pretty cool, but HBO GO has an app too. Most of the stuff I watched on Netflix was available on the Dish, stuff like: The Office, Party Down, Parks and Recreation, Mad Men, and Sons of Anarchy. We watched very few movies on there anyway.

I would have liked to have seen Weeds and the Tudors, but it wasn't worth keeping their service.

I looked at Blockbuster but it doesn't look like Roku supports them.

I am not buying another streaming device!

We're sticking with Netflix. The new price increase is $5 more per month, which isn't a huge deal breaker for us. It will be inconvenient having two sites to manage, but we'll grin and bear it for a while.

I did look into Blockbuster again. We had Blockbuster before and LOVED having the in store exchange option...until they closed all local Blockbusters!

I don't see a lot of details about the streaming on Blockbuster, and couldn't tell whether streaming was included in the $15/month price, or whether a streaming movie counted against the 2 dvds. BUT, it looks like a Wii is not supported, which rules that out. The kids use streaming quite a bit. We love the Netflix app, and stream on the iPads a lot!

So, we'll stick it out for now and see how things work out with Quickster.
