Cancellation to trip = cancellation of ADRs?

Our friends booked free dining when it was available and made various ADRs when they booked their trip. However, they now have to cancel their trip, and I was wondering if Disney automatically cancels ADRs when a trip is cancelled. I feel like if I tell her to cancel her ADRs I'll just be "piling on" but I do want her to do the "right thing" and get her ADRs cancelled. Anyone know the deal? Also, if ADRs are not automatically cancelled, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can tactfully suggest that she cancel her ADRs? Again, I don't want to pile on since she's already upset enough that they can't go with us. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm not sure. I guess the big question would be did she link her ADRs to her reservation? In my case, mine are not (linked to my phone number) so I would definitely have to call and cancel them myself. I think if they are attached to a reservation number, then you don't have to. Hey.....but I've never been in this situation, so I'm no expert.

To my knowledge, she would have to cancel them separately.

As far as suggesting she cancel them, just tell her that it's important she cancel them as it opens up a spot for another person to get that ADR. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated by the person who does get the ones she cancels - even though she can't go, she will be spreading the pixie dust to someone else.
