Cancellation of a vacation package within 30 days of check in how much money do you lose?

I know with a room only you can cancel without penalty up to 7 days prior to check in.
For the vacation package you have to pay in full by 30 days prior to check in and after that there is a penalty for cancelling.
Is the penalty the $200 deposit?
Basically I want to know how much money I'd get refunded if I did not get insurance and cancelled with less than 30 days before check in.

It's a $200 fee if you cancel between 29-2 days prior, $0 if on day 30, and the full package price if giving only 1 days notice.

Thanks.
I book a package every time but never even thought about the penalty before and we don't like to waste money on the insurance.
Only reason I'm more interested this time is because my mom was diagnosed with lymphoma but they have not yet decided if its slow growing of aggressive so in case she ends up needing me here I want to know the penalty for cancelling after the 30 days.
I'm sure I wouldn't have to cancel only a couple days out so at least I'd get most of my money back.

Thanks.

You can also reschedule to avoid the $200 cancellation fee. Technically, they can charge you a $50 change fee, but if the new reservation is the same or more than the original one, they typically waive the $50.

Thanks.

Oh no. I hope your mom is okay and doing well. I'm a clinical chemo nurse so I know lymphoma very well, unfortunately. Has she had a PET scan done yet?

Just had that today.
We've been pretty irritated with this whole thing because we feel like things are not happening fast enough.
She found out she had enlarged lymph nodes in her abdomen in August and has been going back and forth between a test and a Dr appointment every week or two since.
They got a large enough sample during a biopsy to determine there was something wrong but couldn't tell what.
Then they got a bigger sample and it showed follicular lymphoma but what they really want is a whole lymph node to decide if she only has follicular or if she h as a more aggressive form as well. Thing is they want a node to light up that is much easier to remove which is why the did the PET scan today. Next week we'll learn if there is one somewhere else or if they have to do a full blown operation to get one from her abdomen to check. If its slow growing then we can deal with that but if its aggressive we've wasted so much time already.
Her father die from lymphoma and by the time they figured it out it was too late and he passed a few weeks later so we are pretty on edge to figure this out sooner than later.
