We had planned a trip to WDW in Januaray.

With the deal I was going to be able to stay at AKL. I have always wanted to stay there!

But... we now really want to bring my Nieces with us. They are 15 and 10. They have had a rough few years. Mom is self absorbed. The 15 year old lives with us. The 10 year old is with us every day after school.

Taking them bumbs us up to 6 people and that adds a lot of extra cost. After looking at all our options one of the grandparents has donated their Wyndham points and we can stay at Bonnet Creet. If we cover the girls food and tickets we are not spending any more then we would have spend at AKL. It will not be AKL and it is off property, but it will be so worth it to show them a good time!

So... I think I am even more excited about this trip!

I've never stayed at Bonnet Creek but I have read good reviews. So what if you're not at the Animal Kingdom Lodge- it's not going anywhere. You are a truly wonderful aunt!
I hope you all have a fantastic, magical trip. :thumbsup2

I've moved this to the Doing the Happy Dance! board. Have a great trip! :)

What an awesome Aunt and Uncle these girls have. Sorry that you can't stay at AKL this trip but you are making wonderful memories for these girls. My sister is the same way as their mom, my niece used to live with us until her dad moved 2 blocks away (his previous house was not in a good neighborhood). I took her to Disney 3 times, when she got older and got married she took her sisters and they were terrified of the rides since they had never been on rides before. She is a huge Disney lover and takes her own children many times a year (thank goodness she married a Disney lover too)

Good Job:thumbsup2

The world needs more people like you and your husband. have a great time.

Thanks everyone. The 15 year old has lived with us for 6 months now and I think she would be so upset if we did not take her. We can not take her and not her sister so there you have it.

DH and I are even more excited now. We are planning some different things because we know how much the girls will love it. My boys were just there October 08 and I know they will have a great time showing them all the fun stuff.

We told their parents last night and mom was find as long as she did not have to pay anything. Dad was really happy and excited that they were going to get to go and very thankful.

It will be so much fun seeing it through their eyes!

Wow what wonderful memories your going to give them. I read your first post about doing this and I am glad it all worked out. Seeing it through their eyes will be worth it.

That is so sweet. I hope having them along will make your trip even more special. I'll bet they are so excited, lucky girls!

Here is the video of the kids finding out at Christmas.

My boys were very over stimulated. They tend to show less excitment. However, I have to say that seeing my youngest neice and how excited she was made it so worth it! I am so happy we are taking them. 17 days!!!

I just watched your video and now I'm all teary-eyed! What lucky nieces you have. I hope you all have a super trip. :wizard:

We have stayed at Bonnet creek 3 times now. It is a great resort. You and kids will love it. They have all 3 pools open now. Just hope it is warm to swim a little.
I can't remember who is letting you use the wydham points but have them call and request a fireworks view on the reservation. We got one last time and was nice to see both Epcot and Magic Kingdom's fireworks. We didn't do disney the whole week.

have fun.
