Cancel Boma?

We have an ADR on Friday, Aug 24th at Boma. We had originally planned to travel to Boma from AK. I am worried that there will be no transportation from AK to the AKL now that they seem to be moving all the guests. Does anyone know what the transportation situation will be? I am thinking about cancelling our reservation. Any thoughts on this?!?

I wouldn't worry about it--I'm sure there will be plenty of transportation. From what I've heard, they're not moving all the guests, just some of them. And some of the DVC units are open now, too, so they'll need transportation for those folks as well.

Nothing is going to come between me and my Boma!

We have never eaten there...I guess I am worried about transportation and the rumors that they are moving all of the animals to AK because of construction. I just keep imagining a big hassle after a long day at AK.

I am willing to give it a try!

Glad to hear it! We were staying at the resort when construction first started and were not affected by it at all. Knowing Disney; they will make every effort to satisfy resort guests and diners! Let us know how your trip goes!!

They are not moving all the guests. The animal thing is just a rumor. And they will not be closing the restaurants. Go and eat. You couldn't see the animals from the restaurants anyway.

Hey, we are going to be at AK on the 24th. We also have ADR's for Boma at 7:30. I would offer you a ride, but we take up 7 of the 8 seats in our car. Don't cancel, maybe we'll see you there. We'll be the loud table.

I'd crawl on hands and knees, or take a bike, a boat, a car..or bus, as the case may be from AK to AKL to make my ADR for Boma. It's a great experience

Another option is taking a cab! We took a cab three times during our trip because otherwise it's a hassle to get from one resort to another resort. Sure it'll cost you between $10-$20 but saves on a lot time and energy!

I'd call AKL and ask about the bus service and how often the buses run if there is any change in the schedule. If not - Amyg has the right idea - hop a cab.

Our reservation is for 5:00 so we'll probably miss you!! Maybe we'll see you on our way out and your way in...

With all the positive feedback, I am keeping our plans as they are now!

Boma is our absolute favorite restaurant and we would jump through hoops if necessary to get there.
