Cancel ADR to book and the system gives it away?

Is this common for their site?

I have Fantasmic reserved for 11/30 1:55 at Hollywood and Vine, I really need it for 3 so I search every single day multiple times.

Today a reservation opened for 3 I clicked it and they make me answer questions about my conflicting reservation, I clicked ok to cancel the other and bam this reservation is no longer available! Their system knows well enough to make you cancel a reservation before double booking but cant hold a reservation for a minute so you can answer their questions or allow you to book the other and make you cancel one right after?

Never had that problem and I just did it a couple days ago with an ADR for BOG.

No, it is not common. You must have made some mistake. The site clearly
Says it won't cancel your original ADR until your new one is confirmed .

It Didn't cancel the original but by the time it asked me and made me verify that I was ok with the cancellation it said the time I was trying to get is no longer available. So instead of holding the one I was trying to book it let someone else reserve it while I was agreeing to cancel the original reservation.

I hate their system. They also sometimes get locked for an hour than magically reappear

Thanks something has to be wrong because I did the search again and the same 2:10 time popped up, again when I agreed to cancel the other it goes to load the new one and that it goes Paws sorry the time you requested is no longer available, so I immediately did a search and they were all gone, I waited a few hours and did the same search and this time 1:05 popped up so again same issue!! UGH! this is so frustrating honestly if I would have known all this I wouldn't have booked my first trip less than 180 days away, I mean heck I even booked during the free dinning promotion but couldn't even get that because it was sold out for every resort but the $1k a night ones :/

Ironically I did decide to do searches for like 2 days from now and I see lots of stuff opens up closer to the day heck Chef Mickey, BOG, CRT, Akershus, TCP and Ohana all had breakfast, Lunch and dinner times! So at least I know all hope is not lost LoL

If I could manage that right before my trip I would be floored only issue is not sure which 2 out of 3 to chose in MK BOG, CRT or TCP..... I got lucky and have Akershus booked for our Epcot day already

I had a somewhat similar issue so I know the feeling. I was switching reservations the one canceled then the app froze and didnt book the new one. When I finally got the app working both were gone. Thankfully reservation finder came to my rescue, but since it was our princess meal I was rather upset knowing that the kids would be so dissapointed.

Good luck with your searches!! I've had more luck constantly checking the website throughout the day than through the reservation finder this trip! Something will come up before November!
