Canadians hitch a ride to Disneyland on The DISNEY WONDER! (with picss) **COMPLETED**

Sorry for the delay everyone, life has caught up to me and I've been finding it hard to sit down and type this all up. Perhaps time for another vacation?!? I can dream right? lol.
Ok here we go....

Day 5 - Ensenada!

To begin with we weren't sure what we wanted to do on our day in Ensenada. We had poked around at the idea of doing the Wine Country tour, but then quickly squashed that idea once we realized that there would be a LOT of "boring" time for the kids and that would mean a lot of whining/crying/wiggling to get free, lol.

Had there been a beach excursion we would have jumped at that, but there was nothing where we could just go play at the beach. There had been some kind of resort swimming thing, but nothing to swim at a beach :( We really wanted a beach!

So then we thought about just staying on board and just enjoying the ship....
...but then how can you be so close to Mexico and not step foot on it?!?

So what did we do? Lets find out!

We got off the ship and went to Mexico of course, lol. Well not all of us, my brother just wanted to hang out on the ship (he'd been to Mexico before, so it wasn't as exciting for him, lol). Now I must admit to you all, we didn't get far. We decided to just check out the market building that was about 50ft from the ship, lol, and then jump back on the ship.

Here is my little family unit in Ensenada :)

Here we are inside the market building, look at all those colors!

Jacob and Daddy decided to take some photos while waiting for my mom, Ella and I to finish browsing the stalls. In the end I don't think any of us found anything we needed...

Time for some flag play :) They handed these out as we got off the ship (or maybe in the market?)

Enjoying the beautiful warm weather!

To the untrained eye this is just an ordinary photo in front of the ship...
...but, what you can't see is that my brother was standing behind one of those portholes on the ship laughing his butt off because he was getting in the photos without us even knowing (also known as a photo bomb, lol). And he continued to watch us for a while knowing that we were oblivious to the fact that we were "being watched"!

The kids got to run around on solid ground for a bit. And the funny thing about this was that I never felt "land sick" while we were off in Ensenada (you know where you feel like your swaying on the boat even though you arn't on the boat anymore).

The STINKY sea lions! These guys really stank! lol

WILL EDIT IN MORE PHOTOS HERE LATER (uploading to photobucket seems to be going super slow tonight)

The Last Morning :(

Our last morning was a bit sad, I wasn't ready to leave the ship yet. Truthfully I think I could LIVE on the ship, lol.

Here is a photo of Jacob in front of the kids club from the night before.
He just LOVED being in the clubs! He never once paged us to get him, we always had to go find him and bring him out ourselves, lol. I wasn't thinking to take photos of him playing inside the clubs, so this will be his memory, lol.

So on our last morning we had the early breakfast seating in Animators Palate. Our assistant server seemed a little sad that morning, as was I.
We asked them for a photo after breakfast and Olivia gave us hugs. I'm gonna miss her, she was great with the kids and just an overall fun and friendly person!

We waited for maybe 20-30 minutes after breakfast before we were able to disembark (we wanted to be off early because the CM at guest services the night before had said that it would probably take about an hour to disembark, go through customs and get our luggage. We didn't want to be late for our ride so we disembarked as soon as our tag was called.

So off we went, stepped off the boat and slowly walked through the line into the customs building. There was a line, but it moved at a decent pace. We scanned our passports, the man looked us over, and off we went. Downstairs to where our luggage was, it didn't take long to find ours and we loaded it all onto the stroller (we had brought a double stroller since we would be at Disneyland after the cruise). Even though all our luggage was on the stroller and we weren't struggling at all, we still had offers from porters to help us take our luggage the additional 200ft to the outside waiting area, lol. I found this funny, as it would have been more work to unload the stroller and let them take our luggage. Oh well.

So out we went, found a spot on a bench outside to wait for our ride, then checked the time.
We were SOOO E-A-R-L-Y, it didn't take us even close to an hour to disembark, someone needs to tell the guest services CM that, lol.
We had about an hour and half or more to wait, lol.

So we just sat around and people watched. We didn't have a cell with us because my pay n' talk phone doesn't work in the US, and we didn't want to buy a calling card, so we couldn't call our ride to see if they could come early.

While we were waiting we chatted with a couple next to us who had children similar in age to ours, and it turned out they were from BC, Canada as well, and not too far from our town!
Eventually the rest of their party showed up and so did their ride and off they went.

The wait was getting boring so we started to pay more attention to the names in the dash of all the cars driving by to see if our driver was early, quite a few drove by that were not for us, lol, but eventually I spotted my name and we waved over our driver. Yay!

So what mode of transportation did we choose to take us to Disneyland?
Well I had priced out the cost for Super Shuttle and also for SoCaLimo. Turned out that for our group of 6, it was actually cheaper to use the limo service! I won't argue with that!

So here we are in our Limo :)

They even provided water and soda on ice for us! We drank the soda and then kept the waters for use in the parks :thumbsup2

Well this brings the cruise portion of my trip report to an end.
I hope you all enjoyed reading it, and that it may have helped anyone thinking of taking the Vancouver to LA repo next year :)

As the mouse would say:
"See Ya Real Soon"
