Hi,
I am currently a member of the Disney Movie Club and am considering cancelling my membership.

The DVD for Maleficent (DVD! Not even Blu-Ray!) is 23.95 alone, and with shipping it would cost me $31.77. I bought the Blu-Ray at Costco for $18. I think when I first joined I figured I could save money if I averaged the cost of my obligatory purchases with the 5-for-a-dollar ones, but now it's just getting ridiculous.
I have stayed in the club and keep declining featured titles (then buying them at Target or Costco) because I keep thinking there will be some great offer coming up...but not for over a year have I been able to save money through the club.

Does anyone else have a similar experience? I'm thinking I might cancel and rejoin later when there are more movies I deem worth buying. We've got pretty much all the classics (except Aladdin, which we still only have on VHS - when are they going to release that on disc!!!)
Thoughts?

Not Canadian, but I joined the Disney Movie Club last year. I think it really only saves you money for the initial signup. Once you've purchased the commitment titles, I feel like it's much harder to get a good deal. But I did get a good price with the initial offer, and ended up with 9 blurays for about $8-9 each.

I'm a VIP member now, but like you, haven't seen anything worth getting, especially once shipping costs are added. The only reason I haven't canceled yet is I was thinking about getting one of the VIP pins. I think canceling and rejoining later when you have enough movies you're interested in is the way to go.
