Hi everyone!!
My husband and I are going to Orlando from Halifax March 28-April 4, and I'm planning to get our tickets with the Canadian discount, as soon as we can lock down how many days to get :rolleyes1
On the website, it says that a Canadian passport needs to be shown before first use.
Has anyone used them yet? Do you know where we show our passport? Do we need to bring it to the park, or could we do it at Guest relations at Disney Springs the day before we go to the parks?

You need to bring your passport to guest relations at the park to activate the tickets. According to others in the big long thread in this forum on this subject, you can activate them by bringing your passport to DS ahead of time.

Thanks so much!! I didn't see that thread, guess I didn't go back far enough.

Here's a question for the more experienced here.

We have always booked a package when going to Disney and sometimes had the free dining offer and a few times just purchased the Disney Dining Plan.

If I buy the discounted tickets now and in a year or two make a room only reservation to use those tickets would we be able to add the dining plan or get a free dining offer without needing to buy additional ticket days?

Free dining - No
Paid dining - Yes

For my party of two, the "magical" room deal and discounted Canadian tickets would be a better option even if free dining is offered.

You have to calculate all options to determine what your best option is. Since free dining only comes with rack rate room and ticket package, value would be maximized if you have 4 adults.

I think you only have to purchase a minimum of 2-day base tickets for the package. You can purchase the discounted tickets and save the package tickets for later use.

Live Chat advised: “Did you know that even with your tickets purchase already, you would still be able to get a dining plan? When your Travel Agent would contact Disney to make your reservation they would be able to book a ticketless package with a Dining Plan!”

This must be done by a phone call reservation, not the usual travel agent booking systems.

.........and just to clarify, you can't get Free dining unless you buy a package that includes tickets? Am I on the right track?

That is correct. Usually you have to buy at least a 2 day ticket that includes the park hopper.
