Hi there,

I am participating in a regional exchange on another board and I'm looking if anyone knows where to pick up some Canadian items (other than the CN Tower) in Toronto. I'm looking for maple syrup, or stuff like that!

Thanks.

Did you think about checking a dollar store. I am in NS and find that the dollar store usually has a lot of CDN stuff :)

Good Luck!

Just about any gift shop attached to a Toronto Attraction would have this sort of stuff. Also, if I remember correctly, there are souviener stores in some of the major malls such as the Eaton Centre and the Yorkdale Mall.

I don't think you can pick up the CN Tower, it is rather large.

(The CN tower disappeared last night!
And though its disappearance caused quite a fright!
No one seems to know quite where it's gone,
and no one knows quite why,
A great big hole shows where it towered in the sky,
and though police are baffled, no clue has let been found.
Theories of the uncanny disappearance abound,
well, it's gone, gone gone.

The most logical theory so far seems to be,
that some diner in the revolving restaurant carelessly
dropped a fork through a crack in the floor,
which got stuck in the mechanism,
and could not be removed
and jammed the whole gear system,
and sent the whole damn building revolving round and round,
and so it screwed itself forever out of sight and underground!
Well it's gone gone gone.

I sedond the dollar store - they have CDN flag key chains, stickers etc etc. Also, the Bay has 'canadiana'.

There is a store in the Eaton Centre.

They moved to the corridor where Old Navy is. They carry a lot of "Canadian Stuff"

If there is a Dollarama near you, then definately you will find a few items there too!

YES Eaton Centre theres a few place but as well if you go up Yonge St from Eaton Centre even up just passed College St there are some small stores that have things as I did a postcard exchange with other Girl Guide units from all over the world and picked up Toronto Postcards and they had alot of different Canadian items in stores there

Also any major hotel gift shop will probably have an abundance!

Um, forgot to mention that you cannot mail food stuff across the border!

It's a US law!

You cannot mail purchased food items across the border into the USA. However, you can still mail homemade food. I'm not sure that I understand the logic behind it, but that's what it is...

I just checked the Canada Post list and purchased chocolates are not on it. They are more worried about meat, fruit and veg. So, I'll try mailing it today and see what happens.
