Canadian DVCer add-on Villas @ Grand Californian

I am so upset now, FedEx just delived an aenveople from DVC, it is about the add-on contract I signed last week. The letter in it says the state of California does not accept any foreign notaries, and they sent me another copy of the Interspousal Transfer Grant Deed, and want me to get it Notarized by a Notary Public in the USA, or have it done by a foreign notary but have an apostille attached to the document, OR, have it done by a foreign notary and either sent or presented to the American Consulate.

They didn't tell me that when they send me the paper, my partner and I had a hard time first time around getting the paper notaried becasue he works at the US side and I work at the Canadian side, and the law office only open 9-5M-F. and also we had to pay them for the service.

On top of that I just submited my passport for renewal last week. I can't cross the border until I receive the new passport.

I don't remember we had to do all this the first time when we buy in AKL.


Has anyone else experience this?

Just did an addon for AKV in March. We had ours notarized here in Ontario. It was accepted. Mind you that was for Florida not California. Is this just a California state thing?? They should have told you prior however.

Exactly! We didn't have to find a US NR last time getting AKL neither.... I can't remember getting anything notrized at all last time...!!

Sorry to hear about your frustration TLPL. Must be a California regulation.
