We 'might' end up buying DVC. Looking at (and getting overwhelmed) by the papers that I have to read right now. I do have a question though. Are we as Canadians, eligible for the referrals? My guide said 'no', but there was someone helping me out that I would love to help out in return, if at all possible.

Also, how is DVC working out for you? I do hang out on the DVC boards a bit now trying to read up, but thought I'll ask here as well.

Have a magical day!

Re: referrals
No we aren't eligible. We can't receive anything for helping with the sale - some real estate law prevents it.

Re: our love of DVC. Absolutely love it! We have added 3 small contracts since our first purchase. 2 via resale market. Definitely hanging out and asking tons of questions on the DVC board is the way to go. I asked plenty of questions there before even considering it - followed by a trip to WDW were I questioned a sales person - and then finally making the jump to purchase. No regrets!

We love our DVC membership. Best decision we made concerning our vacations.

Regarding referrals, no we're not eligible but we gave a referral last time we were in WDW and our guide promised us some fastpasses and free swag. I'll take it!!

I can only answer the second part. DVC, for us, allows us to travel down in large groups. We save 3 years worth of points ( with banking and borrowing ) and have taken down anywhere from 12-20 people. It's really great to get that 'Welcome Home' greeting and have come to feel that BCV is like our Disney "Home".

I guess I can reiterate what the others have mentioned. Unfortunately, we are not eligible for the Referral program. I have referred a few people who became members and I received a card thanking me for it. But that's about it.

As for DVC, we have been members for about 8 years now and we use it every year. Initially, we were going for a week once a year. After a year and a half, we did an "add on" and started going for two weeks at a time, but still only once a year. 2 years later we did another " add on" and since then we have been going for twice a year each vacation for 2 weeks. Before we bought into the membership, we were only going 7 nights a year. Now, we are going for 28 nights per year. This is a big difference and we could not have been able to do this without the DVC membership. Yes, it's a large financial commitment in the beginning (and depending on your add ons - each time you purchase more points) and annual fees, but for my family, it is a good investment for our family vacations since I consider it a saving to stay at a Deluxe Villa accomodations for the price of a Moderate resort!:thumbsup2 So to answer your question. We do love our DVC!:thumbsup2

Our DVc membership was the best choice for our family and we love it!! We have been able to bring friends/ family and make vacations truly magical.

Another Canadian DVC member here.
BUt, I am new(to owning) I bought at the end of Aug.
I love it already and have not even used my pts. yet:rotfl:
I get excited just logging on to the member website!! :surfweb:
Just got off the phone, from booking my first pts. stay.
:cool1:
I had been researching this for years and so glad I finally decided to take the plunge. So glad I did.
I agree -- A lot of papers. We spent an evening reading them over and completing the pkg.
This is the best place for info and advice. The DIS boards helped me immensely in finally making my decision. My only regret so far--NOT ENOUGH POINTS. I want to add on already. Sickness:sick:
