Our dollar is over 1.04.

I'm switching over some money now! Wish I knew how much my taxes are going to be this year, if I had enough left over I would pay off my trip.

It's wonderful!! I was just at the bank and deposited $766 CDN and it gave me $775 US in my US account. It's great to be on the plus side.

It IS awesome! I have been transferring like crazy into my U.S acct...but on the flip side, DD is about to come home after a year working at Epcot and she will take a beating on all the money she has saved:sad2:

I think she should leave there and transfer back here and there when it might become favourable the 'other' way!

I also think she should keep most of the US money (if she goes to the US a fair amount). Even if you buy some of her money at just over par, you both will get a deal. The banks always take some of the exchange.

Yup, in Mommy's example above, the bank took about 3%. That's even more than MasterCard was charging us a couple of weeks ago. Things may settle back a bit eventually, but most experts seem to expect the C$ to stay above the Greenback for a while.

I agree. She wants to travel to Europe though, so at some point..lumps of it will have be converted.:confused3

It's great for traveling to the US but not so great for our lobster exports and any other exports. There's always a good side and a not so good side to it.

I exchanged $393 for $400 USD today...sweet!

I can totally relate! Finishing off the stuff to go to the accountant today. Afraid to hear back, but then the bulk is out of the way for family fun!

Just curious where you think is the best place to exchange Canadian for US the bank that I do my banking with or a foreign exchange place in a mall?

Loving it!
Payed off our trip last week. We're going to exchange all of our spending money now too just in case it goes back down by the time we leave in August.

love it! got my american today for mays trip. got 800 us and it was 767ish? canadian. the bank was so busy with getting customers wanting us funds i had to wait 20 minutes....even better, my bank installed a huge tv and i got to see them showing the new disney park they're planning for shanghi. didn't know there was one in the works, but apparently there is.

I've been transferring to my U.S acct too :yay: And paying off WDW.

I paid off my trip last week and changes $900 can to $909 us. As I live near the niagara falls boarder I am now going every other week for gas and food.

I have about $1500 left owing on our summer trip that is due june 4th. I am debating paying it or waiting for the dollar to creep even higher. It is tough deciding what to do since no buddy really knows what will happen....

I'd pay off some now, if you've got the money and then wait later if you feel it might go even higher.
