Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

Still working on catching up!

Nobody said this would be easy!

:rolleyes1

I have to admit...I don't "get" DiVine. I mean, it's a lady dressed in leaves, right?:confused3

Hmmm.... Before I answer that....
Have you ever seen her?

Right there with you. Down with the hat! Oh, I guess it already is.

Yes... yes it is....

Good.

Agreed. Shows are there to distract other people from rides. Same with the parades.

What's a parade?

Oh, wait. There is one reason to see a parade.
(I'll explain... probably on the next update.. or the one after that.)

If the shows have explosions, however...:woohoo:

I really don't see why Beauty and the Beast or Voyage of the Little Mermaid can't have explosions.
I might've gone to see them.

Another part of Disney I just don't "get"...what the heck is going on with the GMR.:confused3

I don't know.
It's a huge ride. Must've cost a bundle... but...
It needs updating or something.

It was!

They didn't sound like Chip and Dale? Or Donald?

No, that was the problem.
They sounded exactly like Chip and Dale (well, except for Dale...),
but I pictured (if that's the right word) them with normal voices.

Okay, I'm kidding.
They sounded like Huey, Dewey & Louie.

Okay! Okay!
They sounded normal.
Just different than I imagined.

Sheesh.

I love 50's Prime Time. Glad you enjoyed it too.

I really did! It's somewhere I'd like to go back to for sure.

That's exactly how I feel! Good description.

Thanks! :)

I loved it. It was simple to use and there was no running criss-crossing the park to get paper fastpasses and back to meet up with your party at the next ride.

Exactly! That was huge.
No sprinting for the next fastpass... I've already got them!
I'll have more to say on that as the updates roll in.

It is a great way to start your Disney day.

I was really pleased to just sit back relax and start the day that way.

I don't get choked up until my first step onto Main Street.

So you're saying that I'm a bigger baby than you?

I'm okay with that, just wanted to make sure.

Here is where I really appreciate fastpass+. I don't have to run for a fast pass to BTMRR and back to Space Mtn to meet my family - this was always really hard for me because I MUST have ONE leisurely walk down Main Street. I have to have that fix. It's been that way for me since the 70s.

Yup. I wasn't kidding.
I usually didn't even see the castle until later in the day.

People always say how rough it is, but i's never really had a problem with it. I hope your neck is doing okay.

I just didn't want to take the chance.
You'll see why when I get to my Wednesday posts (Currently on Tuesday.)
My neck is perfectly fine.
Just had a kink in it for a bit.
But thanks for asking! :)

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

:sad2:
I know. I could hardly believe it myself.
Last time I rode it?
1992.

I really thought I could read your TR and if not get my Disney fix, at least live vicariously through you. Nope. Not happening. I just want to go to Disney , now more than ever.

So... your not going to read anymore?

It's a fun little ride and I will always want to ride it on Disney trips, but it will never pass BTMRR.

That's exactly the words I was looking for.
It's a fun little ride.

Whereas BTMRR is simply awesome.

During our trip 2 years ago, granddaughter #1 and I were getting off BTMRR for the second time that day, and she complained that I had laughed throughout the entire ride. Of course I laughed! I was having fun!

:lmao: Good for you!!

Hadn't heard much about the new queue on this ride, but I will have to check it out next trip.

Do! But go early so you don't get stuck in it for ninety minutes.
But I might say that it's one of Disney's best queues.

Yes, Columbia Harbor is my guess.

Okay. Gotcha.
Just making sure.
Want to hazard a meal choice?

Next week! Wow, that's coming up fast!
Have an extra one for me, okay?

Yeah, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision when Jet Blue had a good fare available. It's a crazy month with the NJ DIS Meet coming up, but I really wanted to see Flower & Garden in full bloom, and was being told that May was getting into too hot to enjoy the parks territory, so here I go.

I can almost definitely have an extra Dole Whip for you. No promises on Zebra Domes, though. =)

At the time, I believe Memory Maker if purchased in advance was $150.

That's a lot of moola for some pictures.
At least I thought so.

But you can buy them a la carte too.
And I knew going in that I'd only want one or two.
But that's one that I knew I wanted.
I thought it'd make a fun intro picture.

It is a lot of moola for pictures. Don't let anyone tell you differently. But that one is pretty awesome.

I've got a real love/hate relationship with TOT.
I remember watching Rod Serling and The Twilight Zone on TV as a kid.
(in reruns... how old do you think I am??? DO NOT ANSWER THAT!)

I love the whole theming of the place, inside and out.
I love all the little (and not so little) nods to the TV show.

I love that the car exits the elevator and moves down the hall.
I love all the special effects that accompany it.

I decidedly don't love the drop.

My brother from another mother!

I got to TOT a minute or so after exiting RNR.
This hotel is so cool! The theming is amazing!
Man I love this ride!
I was in the library listening to Rod Serling in no time.
Man I love this ride!
We were then ushered out of the library and into the boiler room.
Soon I was seated in my car and watching ghosts appear and clocks run backwards.
Man I love this ride!
The car came to a stop, paused ever so briefly, then
D
R
O
P

!
!
!

Man I hate this ride!

Finally! Someone who understands! This ride is awesome and it sucks!

I wonder if Steven Tyler would chose Palmolive or Life Buoy?

Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heady, but with just a touch of mellow smoothness. Lifebuoy, on the other hand...

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and a woman's voice say:
"Did you eat your cupcake already?"

Confused, I turned to face my accuser.
I didn't eat my cupcake, because I hadn't bought one!

A middle aged or so woman was looking at me with eyes the size of saucers.
"You're not my husband!" She spluttered.
I looked over her shoulder and there was a middle aged gentleman standing there,
with a cupcake in his hand.
He was wearing white sneakers and socks... like me.
And beige cargo shorts... like me.
And a black T-shirt... like me.
His build was... let's say "svelte"... like me. :rolleyes1
He had a distinguished head of salt and pepper hair (;))... like me.
He even had an awesome 'stache... like me.

Whoops. I guess you already had a brother from another mother. Well, this is embarrassing.

I call it "Tigger after being stung by a bee on the left cheek." :rolleyes1
That makes it art.

Plus you signed it and everything!

He looked annoyed and said. "Yeah? So? Who cares? What time is the park open till?"

Now I must admit that I was in a pretty good mood.
It was the end of a spectacular day.
So I was pretty taken aback by this cretinous display of rudeness.
I said. "Ten o'clock." And he marched off.

I wish now, that I'd had the presence of mind to tell him the park was closing in five minutes.
Maybe it's for the best.
I might have been forced to walk out of the park with this idiot.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: "It's open until midnight if you keep asking the Cast Members about it.":rolleyes1

So I put your latest posts into word and guess how many pages they filled?

Go on, guess…

137 pages! No wonder I have no time to finish my report!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

No I have Charlie Sheen saying, “Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I don’t think so. Winner, winner, SHEEN dinner” playing over and over again in my head. Thanks.

I drank that whole milkshake, too.

This does not surprise me. I mean because you’re such a connoisseur, not a glutton! Don’t take away any points!

After my ADR and a truly wonderful DISmeet ended,

I watched as my old, yet new friends walked off into the rain.

This reminds me of the ending of Casablanca.

But... since they were gone and I was all by myself again.....

Time to put the pedal to the metal and scoot over to my first ride of the night.

(No time for sashaying... or more accurately, considering the downpour, squishing along.)

I don’t know. Scooting doesn’t sound much faster than sashaying. Can’t you just walk quickly?

I was running late for my FP+ so I didn't stop for photos at that time

and just skedaddled over to the FP+ line.

(I am an expert sashayer, but I excel at skedaddling as well.)

So we’re skedaddling and scooting?

At the time, I believe Memory Maker if purchased in advance was $150.

That's a lot of moola for some pictures.

At least I thought so.

I think so too, but if my brother wants to buy it again I’ll pose for some pictures this year.

But you can buy them a la carte too.

I regret not buying the Ohana breakfast photo. I looked pretty good in that one. What? We’re supposed to care how our kids look in the photos?

This time, I was so busy getting ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille, that I forgot to be nervous!
0clip_image002.png

(bonus points to anyone who can tell me what that has to do with RNRC)

Darn it! I know this was answered already but I knew this one! I’m an old movie buff, or at least I was when I had time for them.

Did you know there's an entire night lit city in there?

It reminds me of the best part of Peter Pan, when you're flying over London.

I will have to take notice this year.

When the ride ended, I took a quick peak at the ride photos to make sure I'd got, got.

Got, got? Is that a Canadian expression?

(ooh, some of you are counting your points right about now, aren't you!)

Yes, we are!

You crazy Canadians need to learn how to spell.

I decidedly don't love the drop.

I tolerate it so I can see all of the rest of it.

But tolerate is the right word.

I'd probably be happier if there was a chicken exit right before you drop.

I think there is one. I love the drop but I hate the moments before the drop, while you’re waiting for it but you don’t when it will happen.

But then I want to get back on at the end so I can see the props at the bottom.

I’ll have to take note of those too.

We bounced up and down for a year or so and finally came to a stop at the bottom.

Which kind of sucked, because I was down here,

but my stomach was up there!

Do you have a photo of you on this one?

And then I had a thought.

I celebrated, because they come so infrequently.

LOL

I should have told her he heard it from Schwartz.

I wonder if Steven Tyler would chose Palmolive or Life Buoy?

I guess I should know this reference since I’m your age, but I don’t.

Now, I myself, have never been a big fan of souvenirs.

Wait. That's not quite right.

I was a big fan when I was little.

I picked up all kinds of junk from our travels when I was a kid.

Later, when I was old enough to move out on my own,

I packed up my stuff and took a good long look at all the junk

I'd collected over the years.

And chucked it.

I had my memories and usually there were photos to help in that department.

And that's all I wanted.

I was the same way as a kid. I always picked the junkiest junk and now I rarely buy anything to bring back.

So I'm not a big "stuff" fan.

Although I am kind of a “stuff” fan. I can do some damage at the mall.

If that makes me shallow, so be it.

Momma always said I came from the shallow end of the gene pool,

so I guess it fits.

I think that makes you the opposite of shallow.

The only problem was that Zero (the ghost dog) was too long.

I knew immediately that I would lose him.

He'd get snagged on something and Poof! gone.

Maybe I'd get lucky and not lose him. But I had my doubts.

I wish Kate Spade would design some Magic Band decorations. Those I would buy.

I was on my way to Star Tours.

Whoo hoo! Points for me!

I just didn't think I'd enjoy it very much if I was yanking away all by myself.

uh.... Wow, did that ever come out wrong!
0clip_image004.gif

Ha ha! Family board, Ponzi!

I’m in the lead! I’m in the lead!

And for those of you at the top? You've been warned.

Don't get cocky.

I mean, great job everyone!

I sashayed down in the direction of Star Tours.

Can’t you just walk?

She was alive the last time I'd been here and now she was gone.

So I just thought it was fitting to pay her a little homage.

Who? I can’t figure it out.

But it was here that I had the strangest experience of the trip. .

Is this that experience you were alluding to at the beginning of the report? I was hoping for a celebrity sighting.

He even had an awesome 'stache... like me.

Another villain…er…I mean hero! Don’t deduct any points!

I call it "Tigger after being stung by a bee on the left cheek."
0clip_image006.gif

That makes it art.

We drew Tigger when we did this and my daughter was so distraught that hers didn’t look exactly like him.

Not just because it was so good.

(Hello! Pretzel! and double hello! Disney Mickey Head pretzel!)

But because it reminded me of some good not-yet-met friends.

Aw…

I spent the next little while sashaying around a bit,

just enjoying the sights.

The image of this makes me chuckle.

Walt played the piano?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised,

but I do wonder what this was all about.

Was he famous then?

Was this a night job?

I wonder if they were recording music for one of the movies.

I sashayed out and started heading towards the exit.

You haven’t scooted or skedaddled for a while.

He looked annoyed and said. "Yeah? So? Who cares? What time is the park open till?"

You should have popped him one.

I like the glow of Fantasmic! in the background.

And no, I didn't see it.

Seen it already, and while I wouldn't mind seeing it again...

I was quite content to put it off until another time.

I feel the same way. We’ve seen it a couple times but it doesn’t affect me like Wishes or Illuminations.

The alarm woke me at 6:45am.

While that's not particularly early,

it's never really a problem waking up when in Disney.

At least not for me, and I suspect, not for you, either.

Unless of course you're getting up early to leave...

but let's not get ahead of ourselves!

I got myself ready for the day.

And yes.... I whisked open the shower curtain

only to discover that the entire bathroom floor was wet... again!

And yes... I felt shame... again.

This is starting to feel like Groundhog Day.

Hmmm... currently 53F (12C) with a high of 65F (18C).

Great! I don't need a jacket.

Shorts and a T-shirt are all I need.

(Most Canadians are like this:
0clip_image008.gif
All warmer climate folks are like this:
0clip_image010.gif
or possibly
0clip_image012.png
).

Crazy Canadians.

That's like giving a kid a popsicle and telling him to wait three days before eating it.

Especially if the popsicle is not in the freezer.

Ahhhh... that first glimpse of the train station.

Second only to that first glimpse of the castle.

YES

Now I know... oh, I know there's been tons of debate over FP+.

Mostly negative.

I do like that you don’t have to hurry to the park at rope drop just to get on Toy Story.

I didn't notice it when I took the picture (I'm not that good)

but I just love some of the reactions here.

The woman holding the child with the green cap. (Replete with Mickey ears.)

Look at her face!

She's totally bonding with her child and making unforgettable memories.

Or how about the couple to the right. In pink jacket and grey sweatshirt?

Arm in arm, just happy to be here together.

Or even the girl up front, center. Waving to everyone on the platform.

You get to people watch after your trip is over!

is the gentleman taking photos/video using a selfish stick.

I like that name for it! I think that’s better than people holding their ipads over their heads though.

Those kids have no idea just how lucky they are.

They seldom do.

I could pause and take it all in.

And my God... it's beautiful.

Some of my favorite times there are just wandering around, not even going on rides.

The above is only a fraction of the line that had already formed.

Interestingly, we rode it a couple times during a soft open last year before they had FP+ and even though the lines were long they moved quickly because there were no FP people going ahead of everyone.

Pooh?????

0clip_image014.gif
Didn't see that one coming, didja!

You got me there. At least it wasn’t Small World.

I did, however, think that the "honey walls" were pretty cool.

And full of germs…

So I told them.

"You have to be incredibly rich or stupendously famous to bypass the line."

"Which are you?" They cried.

"Both." I replied... then sashayed on.

That last part might not have exactly... you know... happened.

But it was funny anyway.

Would I ride it again?

You bet!

Will it supplant BTMRR as one of my favourite MK rides?

Agreed…and learn how to spell. Or should I say “speull?”

Another favourite of mine, actually.

Are you not listening?

And then the track that you're rumbling along on.... ends.

And suddenly.... you're flying!

Definitely a classic.

The new queue is... marvelous!

Disney really did an outstanding job with this one.

Looking forward to seeing that.

I did get one (crappy) shot of another magical area.

As you walk down a length of hallway,

Tinkerbell suddenly appears and pops into a wall sconce.

And then, if you're lucky, she showers you with pixie dust.

I hope this pixie dust is just lights and not actual dust.

And as my chariot reached its designated spot

and my usher opened his mouth.

I immediately said,

"Watch your step please. Enjoy the ride." in tandem with my guide...

And waved.

He did a double take and broke out into a grin.

Look at you spreading pixie dust on the CMs.

All right... I've decided to show you.

But for those of you without strong stomachs,

I strongly urge you to look away.

This isn't going to be pretty.

The thing that makes me craziest about this ride is not the incessant song, but the badly finished walls and ceiling. Can’t they refurbish this thing?

You want to know about the lesson?

And some of you don't know about George?

Well, I suppose if you really want to know....

You do?

Well, all right. Since you insist.

The last time I was in Disney was in 2009.

I was with DW, DD12 and DD8.

And for the most part, we had a very nice time.

The girls were old enough to go on all the rides

that they'd missed four years earlier.

One of them being POC.

Now as some of you know, there's an urban legend about POC.

Legend has it that when POC was being built,

a worker named George died during its construction.

Now, it's customary at the beginning

and at the end of the day that a CM has to say

"Goodmorning" and "Goodnight" to George.

Otherwise there will be unexplained shutdowns.

Guests, mocking George, have been known to have issues as well.

I told this story to my DDs.

Why not? It's a fun story.

Adds to the ambiance.

And if it terrified them a little...

Well that's what Fathers do.

I knew we wouldn’t get out of this trip report without a history lesson.

The obligatory Redhead photo.

She actually looks like a woman and not Bruce Jenner. In fact, she looks a bit like Lucy.

Ponzi, did I mention how dapper you look with your moustache?

More points getting opportunities coming up!

And as always, if you notice a mistake, let me know!

You don’t make mistakes! Not ever!

Did Dawn get extra points for sharing a meal with you?

Oh, Lord.

Nirvana.

(Not the band.. or that too, if you're really into them.)

You will have to post a ranking of your top ten Disney snacks.

And dodging water's always fun.

I beg to differ.

Thus bypassing the new queue area.

Germ factory

Pretty sure I've never used the term "lickety split" before.

Why do I think this is not true.

It's my favourite ride!

What did I tell you about your spelling?

Again, I put the camera away and just enjoyed myself.

And collected germs.

It's those little touches. Man I love 'em.

Yes. They do it best.

I don't wait in lines.

Or put Baby in a corner. (I don’t know why that popped into my head. Maybe your resemblance to a young Patrick Swayze?)

Thanks for the epic!

Yeah, it was kind of a spur of the moment decision when Jet Blue had a good fare available.

Nice!

It's a crazy month with the NJ DIS Meet coming up, but I really wanted to see Flower & Garden in full bloom, and was being told that May was getting into too hot to enjoy the parks territory, so here I go.

You do know you don't need any excuses to go, right?

:)

I can almost definitely have an extra Dole Whip for you. No promises on Zebra Domes, though. =)

I get that. It's a little out of the way.

It is a lot of moola for pictures. Don't let anyone tell you differently. But that one is pretty awesome.

Thanks! :goodvibes

My brother from another mother!

Yeah! Now tell my sis-in-law I want pie.

Finally! Someone who understands! This ride is awesome and it sucks!

::yes::

Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heady, but with just a touch of mellow smoothness. Lifebuoy, on the other hand...

We have a winnah!
May be some bonus points in it for ya...
Just sayin'

Whoops. I guess you already had a brother from another mother. Well, this is embarrassing.

What? You've never heard of triplets?

Plus you signed it and everything!

Because if I hadn't it would be instead called "fish wrap".

"It's open until midnight if you keep asking the Cast Members about it.":rolleyes1

That would work too.
Still.... he was a jerk and I wish I'd done... well.... something.

So I put your latest posts into word and guess how many pages they filled?

Four?

Go on, guess…

I did! Weren't you paying attention? I said four!

137 pages! No wonder I have no time to finish my report!

Ya know.... I believe you.

It was a bit (or a lot) on the longish side.
I promise to do better at keeping them shorter in the future.

No I have Charlie Sheen saying, “Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I don’t think so. Winner, winner, SHEEN dinner” playing over and over again in my head. Thanks.

Anytime I can give someone an ear worm, I'm happy.

This does not surprise me. I mean because you’re such a connoisseur, not a glutton! Don’t take away any points!

Ooohhh.. Someone's treading a very fine line...

This reminds me of the ending of Casablanca.

Yes! That's it! Perfect analogy!

I don’t know. Scooting doesn’t sound much faster than sashaying. Can’t you just walk quickly?

Walk quickly??? Walk quickly?????
How.... pedestrian.

The closest you'll see me do to that is pace with alacrity.

So we’re skedaddling and scooting?

Indeed. Yes.

Skedaddling and scooting when not skeet shooting.

I think so too, but if my brother wants to buy it again I’ll pose for some pictures this year.

Ah, yes.
It's an amazingly good deal when someone buys it for you.

I regret not buying the Ohana breakfast photo. I looked pretty good in that one. What? We’re supposed to care how our kids look in the photos?

Kids? Nah.
They have all their lives ahead of them to look un-stupid.
We only have a narrow window left to us.

Well, I do anyway.
You obviously have more time and don't have to put in the effort.

Darn it! I know this was answered already but I knew this one! I’m an old movie buff, or at least I was when I had time for them.

Ya snooze. Ya looze.

I will have to take notice this year.

I knew no one knew about it!

Got, got? Is that a Canadian expression?

Nope. It's a Ponzi-ism.
Got it?

Yes, we are!

Thought so.
And figured you especially would be. :rolleyes1

You crazy Canadians need to learn how to spell.

That is the Canadian spelling for "typo". :rolleyes1

I think there is one. I love the drop but I hate the moments before the drop, while you’re waiting for it but you don’t when it will happen.

You could be right.
I remember the second time I was in WDW and the first in Epcot.
(Since there was no Epcot first time around.)
I was on um... I think it was called Body Wars?
Motion simulator ride similar to Star Tours.
The ride had only been going for a few seconds when suddenly the movie
stopped and the lights came on.
A door opened and a CM asked if there was anyone who wanted off.
A woman and her husband exited and they restarted the ride.

So it wouldn't surprise me if there was a way to get someone off right before the drop.

I’ll have to take note of those too.

I still haven't found them, but look for a slot machine or a ventriloquist's dummy down there.

Do you have a photo of you on this one?

No, it's one that I must've had taken, but didn't buy.

I guess I should know this reference since I’m your age, but I don’t.

A Christmas Story.
The one about the quest for the Red Rider BB gun?

I was the same way as a kid. I always picked the junkiest junk and now I rarely buy anything to bring back.

Great minds think alike.

I don't know why ours do.

Although I am kind of a “stuff” fan. I can do some damage at the mall.

While I, being a guy, hold my breath, run in, grab exactly what I came for,
pay for it then get out!!

I think that makes you the opposite of shallow.

Laura says I'm "Deep" everybody!

I wish Kate Spade would design some Magic Band decorations. Those I would buy.

See? Guy. I had to look up who or what Kate Spade was.

Whoo hoo! Points for me!

Ya like that, huh?

Ha ha! Family board, Ponzi!

I have no idea what you mean?
Care to elaborate???

I’m in the lead! I’m in the lead!

I mean, great job everyone!

:lmao:

Can’t you just walk?

Where's the fun in that???

Who? I can’t figure it out.

I knew some would get it and some wouldn't.
It's supposed to be a net... full of jello.

Homage to Annette Funicello.

Is this that experience you were alluding to at the beginning of the report? I was hoping for a celebrity sighting.

Oh, no! Not at all.
That won't happen until Wednesday of the trip.
(That was Monday.)

Another villain…er…I mean hero! Don’t deduct any points!

Hmmm......

We drew Tigger when we did this and my daughter was so distraught that hers didn’t look exactly like him.

And I'm sure it was still better than mine.

I wonder if they were recording music for one of the movies.

Hey! That's a thought. And a good one.
I must ask a CM (if I remember) next time.

You haven’t scooted or skedaddled for a while.

Not if it's not necessary.
Sashaying is my normal mode of locomotion.

You should have popped him one.

And be the only TR writer with a lifetime ban!
Boy that would've made a great TR.
Look what it did for Riglee.

I feel the same way. We’ve seen it a couple times but it doesn’t affect me like Wishes or Illuminations.

::yes::

This is starting to feel like Groundhog Day.

Great movie. Although I didn't care for it when I first saw it in the theater.

Especially if the popsicle is not in the freezer.

Great movie. Although I didn't care for it when I first saw it in the theater.

I do like that you don’t have to hurry to the park at rope drop just to get on Toy Story.

Great movie. Although I didn't care for it when I first saw it in the theater.

Whoops! I mean, Yes, I agree!

You get to people watch after your trip is over!

Funny how things pop out only after you take the time to look at your photos.

I like that name for it! I think that’s better than people holding their ipads over their heads though.

Oh, that's true! That's awful.

Some of my favorite times there are just wandering around, not even going on rides.

::yes::

Interestingly, we rode it a couple times during a soft open last year before they had FP+ and even though the lines were long they moved quickly because there were no FP people going ahead of everyone.

Huh. But then again, I suppose the line would be even longer if they didn't have FP+ for it.

You got me there. At least it wasn’t Small World.

Don't say those words!!!!

And full of germs…

Ah yes. I do remember your fondness for filthy surfaces.

Agreed…and learn how to spell. Or should I say “speull?”

Just because you Yanks forgot how to spell certain words... :rolleyes1

Are you not listening?

Nope. Nor shall I. :snooty:

Looking forward to seeing that.

It really is well done. Don't stand in line for 90 minutes to see it... but...

I hope this pixie dust is just lights and not actual dust.

Yes Miss Germaphobe. It's just lights. :sad2:

Look at you spreading pixie dust on the CMs.

I will do so much more in an upcoming post.
At least I think so.

The thing that makes me craziest about this ride is not the incessant song, but the badly finished walls and ceiling. Can’t they refurbish this thing?

Or better yet. Replace it with something better.
Like a blank wall or something.

I knew we wouldn’t get out of this trip report without a history lesson.

And..... You're welcome.

She actually looks like a woman and not Bruce Jenner. In fact, she looks a bit like Lucy.

Lucy, huh? Is it just the red hair?

Drat! I lost my lead!

Ponzi, did I mention how dapper you look with your moustache?

Why, no! Thanks a l.... Hey! Wait a second! You're just fishing for more points here!

You don’t make mistakes! Not ever!

Did Dawn get extra points for sharing a meal with you?

Nah. She apparently doesn't need any help in that department.

You will have to post a ranking of your top ten Disney snacks.

I don't know if I have that many.
I haven't been there enough.

I beg to differ.

I don't have quite the same head of hair as some of you.... :rolleyes1

Germ factory

Again?
Do you have stock in Purell or something?

What did I tell you about your spelling?

I think you were acknowledging that American spelling
is simply an incorrect application of vowels.

And collected germs.

Everyone needs a hobby.
Plus, they're free!

Or put Baby in a corner. (I don’t know why that popped into my head. Maybe your resemblance to a young Patrick Swayze?)

Thanks for the epic!

Someone really wants bonus points!

Thanks for the awesome break down(s)! :goodvibes

I couldn't agree more, spending a "butt load" of time at Epcot is always a priority for me, too! :thumbsup2

I loved your dream sequence at the beginning in which you played the hero who set about a series of events whereby the man's selfish stick and camera get trampled. Well done, my friend, well done.

Ahhh, Peter Pan. :cloud9: The "here we GO!" gets me every time...

Woohoo for the bonus, bonus points I scored! :hyper:

Hmmm... part of me is inclined to say Cosmic Rays since you'd already mentioned it earlier in your update but I'm going to guess Columbia Harbor House and the Anchors Away Sandwich. :confused3

I don't blame you - 43 years! What's your commute? If you can retire, do it. Then we'll see you in MK.
Mornings are not too bad, 35-40 minutes, evenings are 45-60 mins sitting in stop and go traffic

I couldn't agree more, spending a "butt load" of time at Epcot is always a priority for me, too! :thumbsup2

Well, that was the plan... but we'll see how close I came to accomplishing it.

I loved your dream sequence at the beginning in which you played the hero who set about a series of events whereby the man's selfish stick and camera get trampled. Well done, my friend, well done.

Nothing like a little self righteous indignation first thing in the morning...

Ahhh, Peter Pan. :cloud9: The "here we GO!" gets me every time...

I'll never forget rounding that corner... seeing how the rail ended and thinking... "What???"
And then.....

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh........ Amazing.

Woohoo for the bonus, bonus points I scored! :hyper:

Aaaaaannnnd... you're welcome!

Hmmm... part of me is inclined to say Cosmic Rays since you'd already mentioned it earlier in your update but I'm going to guess Columbia Harbor House and the Anchors Away Sandwich. :confused3

Caught that did you?
But did it mean anything?
You guess... not.
We shall see.

Mornings are not too bad, 35-40 minutes, evenings are 45-60 mins sitting in stop and go traffic

Hmmm... how shall I put this.....

Blech!

I promise to do better at keeping them shorter in the future.

Just teasing you. Type your fingers off….

Walk quickly??? Walk quickly?????

How.... pedestrian.

Good one.

You obviously have more time and don't have to put in the effort.

You obviously have not seen my purchase history at Sephora.

Thought so.

And figured you especially would be.

I have to get back in the lead, Ponzi.

You could be right.

Could be???

A Christmas Story.

The one about the quest for the Red Rider BB gun?

And I’ve seen that so many times.

Laura says I'm "Deep" everybody!

2 points!

See? Guy. I had to look up who or what Kate Spade was.

If you sign up for their email list they will send you secret sale notifications. You’re welcome, Ruby.

I knew some would get it and some wouldn't.

It's supposed to be a net... full of jello.

Homage to Annette Funicello.

I guess I’m one of the dull-witted ones.

Look what it did for Riglee.

The legend of Riglee…

Whoops! I mena, Yes, I agree!

More Canadian spelling?

Huh. But then again, I suppose the line would be even longer if they didn't have FP+ for it.

Not really because the standby line doesn’t move if FP+ people are entering in front of it. The line was very long but we only waited for 20 or 30 minutes because there was no FP+ for it yet.

Ah yes. I do remember your fondness for filthy surfaces.

I just think it’s a funny observation.

Yes Miss Germaphobe. It's just lights.

I just don’t want to pick pixie dust out of my hair all day.

Someone really wants bonus points!

Did I get them?

Let's see since Laura gas 7411 points, I need to get this right.... I will also guess CHH and you ate the lobster roll. Great update I love the trips back in time. Now Heigh Ho ....It's off to work I go

Just teasing you. Type your fingers off….

You mean like this???

You obviously have not seen my purchase history at Sephora.

:faint:

I have to get back in the lead, Ponzi.

Ooooh... I love the sound of desperation in the morning.

Could be???

Might be??

And I’ve seen that so many times.

I am sooooo disappointed in you. :sad2:

2 points!

:lmao:

If you sign up for their email list they will send you secret sale notifications. You’re welcome, Ruby.

Is it an online retailer? Because I don't recall ever seeing one here.

I guess I’m one of the dull-witted ones.

Nah. You just have to be in the know.

More Canadian spelling?

More Canadian frustration is what it is.
I don't know if this has happened to you yet or not.
When using the Rich Text Editor (the default one)
if you type too much, it starts to bog down.
You'll type a sentence (like this one) and by the time you get to the end...
You look up and the letters for "sentence" are still... slowly... appearing...
Drives me nuts!
And then if you make a typo, and you backspace, well that takes forever too.
So you don't know when to lift off the backspace key.
Arrrggghhhh...
I can go to preview and that helps for a while, but then I can't scroll up
to see references to what I'm quoting.
Then I have to open another window to do that and flick back and forth.

DISboards way of telling me to shut up, I think.

(First world problems...)

Not really because the standby line doesn’t move if FP+ people are entering in front of it. The line was very long but we only waited for 20 or 30 minutes because there was no FP+ for it yet.

Just don't tell Disney.
I like looking down on people in the standby line.

I just don’t want to pick pixie dust out of my hair all day.

:scared: No! Not the hair!! Anything but that!!!!

:rolleyes2

Did I get them?

Hard to say. I really don't remember right now.
Let me consult my notes and get back to you.

Let's see since Laura gas 7411 points, I need to get this right.... I will also guess CHH and you ate the lobster roll.

Okay, I got your guess...
And I also got that you're saying @laura74 has gas.

Great update I love the trips back in time. Now Heigh Ho ....It's off to work I go

Thanks!
And have fun at work, I'm off until Thursday.

Nice!

You do know you don't need any excuses to go, right?
:)

Well... I don't need excuses to go when I'm with like minded people, but most of the people I deal with on a daily basis just don't get it. Oh well... More :earsgirl: for me.

That was actually my number one requirement on this trip.
I'm going solo! No kids to worry about!
I want to spend a butt-load of time in World Showcase!
I don't want to be anywhere around you or your butt-load. :rolleyes1

I'd already decided that I had to come back more often than just once a decade!
::yes::

So the plan changed to:
Day 1. AK/DHS
Day 2. Epcot
Day 3. MK
Day 4. Epcot
Day four was based on the primary requirement but I'd be flexible with it.
Not a bad plan... but seems awfully MK deficient.

Hmmm... currently 53F (12C) with a high of 65F (18C).
Great! I don't need a jacket.
Shorts and a T-shirt are all I need.
(Most Canadians are like this: ::yes:: All warmer climate folks are like this: :sad2: or possibly )
I'm certainly not Canadian, but I'm the same way that time of year when I'm in Florida.

Just out of curiosity...
How many of you looked at the first photo and thought "Uh, huh. Monorail. Epcot. Yup."
And then looked at the second photo and went "What? That's not near Epcot!"

Maybe none of you.
Yeah... I'm guessing none. Considering it was clearly MK.

Well..... To heck with logic!
I can't wait three days to get to MK!!!!
Are you nuts???
That's like giving a kid a popsicle and telling him to wait three daysbefore eating it.
Fat chance!
Ok, that's more like it! I couldn't have resisted going to MK as soon as possible.

But today... today I have a fast pass for 9:10am.
I don't have to rush!
Everyone else can rush. But not me.
I have a FP+.
That is the number one good thing about FP+.

I tapped him gently on the shoulder and glanced down at my camera.
He said, "Oh! Sorry." and moved over out of my sightline.
But if you would have let him wear you as that backpack that he didn't have, you probably could have gotten a better vantage point.

I didn't notice it when I took the picture (I'm not that good)
but I just love some of the reactions here.
::yes::

is the gentleman taking photos/video using a selfish stick.
Oh, geeze.... I hate those things. :sad2:

<Dream sequence!!!>
His arm gets jostled "accidentally". Possibly by me.
The camera falls to the ground where it is also "accidentally"
trampled into an unrecognizable pulp.
An old lady smacks him upside the head and says,
"Didn't your Momma teach you no manners?"
A lesson is learned.
And the average IQ of the planet goes up by a tiny fraction.
(It could go up more. But this is Disney. So I don't kill him.)

<End dream sequence>
I never saw a selfie stick until I got to Disney World in December. By the time I left, I wanted to tell some people where they could stick their stick.

Ahhhh..... home again.
pixiedust:

And to those I say, humbly and respectfully...
Shut the heck up. (And I wouldn't say "heck", either.)
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Probably the grass.... Look! No snow!
What's this green stuff????

I remember reading so many comments about how rough Space was now...
And I discussed it with my physiotherapist and she suggested
that if I was going to ride it... to do it at the end of the trip.
So... can't ride SM, but EE and RnRC are ok??? :confused3

Yeah... Between my neck, my back and those reports.
I think I'm just going to have to face up to a very unpleasant reality...
and.... skip it.
NOOOOOO!!!!!

That means I just missed out on a point!!!! :rotfl2:

Time to ride.

Time for some thrills!

Time for some action!

Time for!!!!!!

Pooh?????

:rotfl:Didn't see that one coming, didja!
Thankfully it was that Pooh. Because if it was with DS, we might have been visiting another "attraction" on the way in.

You can actually turn to someone and say "Urine the Poo line."
And you could get away with it.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And before you ask...
No. I didn't take any more pictures of the queue or of the ride.
I put the camera away and just enjoyed the moment.
I approve. You know, since that's what I do pretty much always. :thumbsup2

Tell you what. Crowdfund me to go back and I'll take more pictures.
Okay?
No?

Worth a shot.
I applaud your effort!

Would I ride it again?
You bet!
Will it supplant BTMRR as one of my favourite MK rides?

No.
But it is fun.
Totally agree with that assessment of it.

While I had a FP+ for later, I really did want to check out the new queue.
I mean, who wouldn't want to see what Disney considered more important than a bathroom???
And I was not disappointed.
I missed out on it... we did FP+. Kind of bummed, but the queue will be there later.

I want to be a Disney Imagineer.
Me too!

As per usual, I held up my right index finger
(get your minds out of the gutter... I said index)
to indicate how many in my vast party.

And as my chariot reached its designated spot
and my usher opened his mouth.
I immediately said,
"Watch your step please. Enjoy the ride." in tandem with my guide...
And waved.
He did a double take and broke out into a grin.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And of course, the ride was just as magical as it had been
all those years ago.
I was a little kid again.
"Here we go!..."

Have I mentioned how much I love this place?
Once or twice.

I hesitate to even share this with you..
It was horrible.
A sight that no one should have to witness.
A sight so terrible, so... awful.

Maybe I won't mention it after all.
I know it will just upset a lot of you.

I'll have to think about this for a second...

I looked up....
and....

Oh, God....

I saw... I... I saw.....

It.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Hey, it's a Walt classic. It can't be all that bad!

Which sounds terrible. Like I was only doing it to do it.
And nothing could be further from the truth.
I was roughly following a customized Touring Plan.
Well, maybe not "roughly". I did deviate with PP,
but this next ride was the next one on the plan.
You can't bypass a short wait for PP... that's like the first rule of park touring.

I got there in short order, hoping to see a not too long of a wait,
only to see this:
Wow... I never saw it anywhere near being that short of a line when we were there. POTC and HM were crazy long every time I walked by.

I told this story to my DDs.
Why not? It's a fun story.
Adds to the ambiance.
And if it terrified them a little...
Well that's what Fathers do.
:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Really the only woman who gives Ariel a run for her money.
And she's not even a real person.
You definitely have a thing for red heads, don't you? :rotfl2:

So the correct answer to the bonus question would be:
MK for the park and Pooh, 7DMT and PP for the rides...
and I'm killing myself laughing because I knew
no one would guess that Pooh would be my first ride! :lmao:
Heck, I wouldn't have guessed that!
Laugh-It-Up-Fuzzball-han-solo-30041329-500-215.gif

Steppesister - 1 point because she likes big butts and she cannot lie.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I wasn't even out of the line, heavenly golden concoction in hand,
before I stuffed a spoonful in my face.
Who can resist?

Nirvana.
(Not the band.. or that too, if you're really into them.)
Here we are now
Entertain us!!!!!

But then I stopped, spoon poised mid swoop.
Oh, PRAC! I have to take a picture before it's all gone!
Seriously, I'd have just downed it. Nobody will get mad about the lack of a Dole Whip picture. In fact we might appreciate you not making us crave one right at this very instant!

And waited... and waited...
Hmmm.... Nothing's happening.
It had been operating... but it wasn't now.
And they kept it shut down for the rest of the day.
That always seems to happen when I'm there. Anytime I think I've got a few minutes and we'll check out the wait, it is down. Or if I think I don't want to walk around wet, so I'll ride on the way out, it will be down when we come back.

And, as per always, BTMRR did not disappoint!
Too much fun.
BTMRR NEVER disappoints!

At the hitchhiking ghosts, my head got popped off
and borrowed by one of them.
I was laughing too hard to even attempt a picture.
Don't know if one would turn out anyway.
I love the hitchhiking ghost updates. It's pretty impressive!

One of the things I get a kick out of here is,
I pointed out to a Mom how Leota's eyes open and her face moves a bit.
She immediately tells her kids, another young couple start to watch,
a few more people start to look, little kids go running back to their parents
to tell them what "they've" discovered.
All part of that Disney magic, right?
And you're helping spread it! :thumbsup2

One time, there was a fairly lengthy delay while I was stopped
in front of the ballroom.
Knocked that one off my bucket list! :goodvibes
Nice!

And no. I would never ever take a flash photo while it was moving.
Or even in a better area.
Still.... yeah, I feel a bit guilty about it still....

After only a few seconds, we were moving again.
I don't think anybody is going to get too torn up about a flash picture during a ride interruption. And it was a good picture, by the way!

So....
For bonus points...

Where did I go for lunch?
Extra bonus points if you can also guess what it was that I ate.
Ok, it is definitely Quick Service.
I'm going to go with a burger from Peco's Bills because that is what I would do.

But if it isn't that, it will be the pork shank from Gaston's.

You mean like this???

Is that a Canadian commercial?

Is it an online retailer? Because I don't recall ever seeing one here.

Not exclusively but you can buy her stuff online. I only buy when it’s on super sale. www.katespade.com

)

I never edit in that little window. I just copy and paste in Word. You can put word window next to internet browser window to see both at same time. When I’m done I just copy and paste into the reply window and preview.

I was full of sunshine and hope for all mankind, when....
I admit, I should have known.
But I didn't think!
It just happened!

I looked up....
and....

Oh, God....

I saw... I... I saw.....

It.

DSC08358_zps9mvghpvn.jpg

The world grew dim.
Bile rose in my throat.
I knew I had to get away... and quickly!
Any moment now, if I tarried, I might hear...
I might hear.... that...

No. I can't go on.

I love that ride and I'm friends with all the little dolls (you accept a friend request from one and you get a hundred more!), so back off, Buddy, or I will send those little characters to terrorize Canada! Specifically, your little corner of Canada.

I got there in short order, hoping to see a not too long of a wait,
only to see this:

DSC08359_zpsbfxgkfv9.jpg

That's right! A woman eating something!!!!
(Or possibly measuring the width of her tongue.
I really can't be sure.)

No. Wait. That's not it....
Oh! Right. A five minute standby time!

Always a favorite! (the ride, not whatever the lady is eating)

The five minute wait was probably only posted
because they had no way to post zero minutes.
At least that's what I assume.
I sashayed into the building and continued down
uninterrupted all the way to the first boat.
I literally did not break stride, but kept walking
right up to and into the boat.

There is no sashaying up to POTC. You have to skedaddle. Read the rulebook!

This time, I did not make the same mistake as last time.
I did not. Repeat. NOT make any mention of George.
I learned my lesson and did not care for a repeat.

As I was saying, I got in the boat without breaking...
What?

You want to know about the lesson?
And some of you don't know about George?
Well, I suppose if you really want to know....
You do?

I have heard a little something of a story about George, but don't really recall...

The obligatory Redhead photo.

You and redheads!

MK for the park and Pooh, 7DMT and PP for the rides...
and I'm killing myself laughing because I knew
no one would guess that Pooh would be my first ride! :lmao:
Heck, I wouldn't have guessed that!

I wouldn't have either. In fact, I wouldn't have guessed that you would ride it at all. If you had been curious about the new queue and asked me I would have told you it was "Meh."

Sandy Mouse - 3 points - 1 for guessing only 7DMT was FP+ and 2 points because she asked for points.

Thanks!

After braving the pirate's den
(and George's wrath)
I was feeling a tad peckish...
and knew exactly what I was in the mood for!

DSC08379_zps6bejlkap.jpg

Dole Whip!! You have ALL my attention!

And waited... and waited...
Hmmm.... Nothing's happening.
It had been operating... but it wasn't now.
And they kept it shut down for the rest of the day.
Is there anything sadder than a dry flume ride?

Yes. Empty train track going to the top of Everest is more sad. It was down at the time I had planned our ride last November. We waited, of course, because it was younger granddaughter's first time. It threw off our schedule, though. It was supposed to be the last attraction before we left the park, then back to the resort for a nap, then get into MK on our MVMCP tickets and use our fastpasses in MK. We got no nap, but DGD loved EE. And we didn't have to change her shoes before getting in line here like we did for RnRC.

Soon it was time and I sashayed over to the FP+ entrance.
I didn't notice the wait time, but it was getting pretty busy.
Well, busy for those other unfortunate souls, that is.

And, as per always, BTMRR did not disappoint!
Too much fun.

Once again, read the rule book! No sashaying to BTMRR! Skedaddling only.
(I had "Sheesh!" here and had to come back and delete it. I can't pull off a Sheesh. I just can't.)

...HM!!

DSC08399_zpsfrngn6il.jpg

Some of you may be wondering why I didn't FP+ this,
considering how much I love it.

Well, I guess the straight answer is
because it doesn't really need it this time of day.
Plus, I'd heard so much about the queue that it was
actually more important for me to see it than get a FP+
and save a few minutes.

I really wanted to see the new queue on HM. We got quite a ways in before my younger granddaughter started backing away and turned to run back the way we came. Same reason here as when we used the chicken door on TOT - she loves rides but cannot do scary! I really can't blame her - having the story of Hansel and Gretel read to me gave me nightmares for weeks.

I noticed that you could catch a glimpse of both
Tom Sawyer Island and BTMRR.

DSC08400_zpsrj3b3dxu.jpg

I don't think I've ever seen anyone take that shot before.
Of course I wouldn't be surprised if there's tons of similar shots.
It's not hidden from view or anything.

And then I decided, since we weren't moving anyway,
to break the rules a bit and take a flash photo.
Yeah, yeah. I'm a bad boy.
Sue me.
The picture turned out though, don't you think?

DSC08435_zpsznoywzvu.jpg

And no. I would never ever take a flash photo while it was moving.
Or even in a better area.

See? You know there is a rule book and just ignore it!
There are many places in MK where it is perfectly acceptable to sashay or even saunter (Main Street), but if you are heading for one of my favorite rides, we ask that you skedaddle.

I hear you.
If I could have a nickel for every time someone says "You really like Disney, huh?"

I don't want to be anywhere around you or your butt-load. :rolleyes1

Huh. And here I thought farmers weren't squeamish.

Not a bad plan... but seems awfully MK deficient.

It does, doesn't it?

I'm certainly not Canadian, but I'm the same way that time of year when I'm in Florida.

That's why I said "warmer climate folks" and not Americans.
Thoughtful of me, no?

Yeah... I'm guessing none. Considering it was clearly MK.

I just had a random thought as I was posting that if someone would
glance at the photo (because really... it's boring) and see a monorail
and just move on with the Epcot assumption in mind.

That is the number one good thing about FP+.

::yes::

But if you would have let him wear you as that backpack that he didn't have, you probably could have gotten a better vantage point.

I briefly considered scaling him and perching on his shoulders
for an elevated viewing platform....

But thought it might be kinda creepy.

Oh, geeze.... I hate those things. :sad2:

They actually took a scientific survey.
Percentage of people who hate them... 100%.
Including people who use them.
"Oh, I hate those... I mean when someone else uses one."

I never saw a selfie stick until I got to Disney World in December. By the time I left, I wanted to tell some people where they could stick their stick.

I first saw them in Niagara Falls.
When I was trying to take a pic of the girls in the tunnel,
but people kept jumping in with those *^#%$ sticks!

What's this green stuff????

I had no idea.
I just assumed it was painted on.

So... can't ride SM, but EE and RnRC are ok??? :confused3

EE and RNRC are surprisingly smooth coasters.
But having heard all the negative press about SM,
I just didn't want to risk it.

Would I have been okay? Probably.
But I wasn't going to gamble.

Thankfully it was that Pooh. Because if it was with DS, we might have been visiting another "attraction" on the way in.

:lmao:

I applaud your effort!

And yet... still no cash.

Hey, it's a Walt classic. It can't be all that bad!

Yes.
Yes it can.

Everyone makes mistakes.
Look at the platypus.

You can't bypass a short wait for PP... that's like the first rule of park touring.

There are actually thuggish dwarfs who will confront you if you try to bypass it
when the wait is posted at fifteen minutes or less.

You definitely have a thing for red heads, don't you?

In a word?

YES!!!

Oh, I am.
I am! :lmao:

Who can resist?

I did my best, but I guess I can't.

Here we are now
Entertain us!!!!!

Good one! :thumbsup2

Seriously, I'd have just downed it. Nobody will get mad about the lack of a Dole Whip picture. In fact we might appreciate you not making us crave one right at this very instant!

Good point.
So, sorry about an upcoming post...
Because I might have another....

BTMRR NEVER disappoints!

Ya got that right!!

And you're helping spread it!

I never thought about it that way!
I'll discuss this more at length (do I have any other way???) later.

I don't think anybody is going to get too torn up about a flash picture during a ride interruption.

That's what I thought.
But I wouldn't do it say... at the ballroom.
The ride's stopped but there are still moving critters afoot.

And it was a good picture, by the way!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Ok, it is definitely Quick Service.
I'm going to go with a burger from Peco's Bills because that is what I would do.

But if it isn't that, it will be the pork shank from Gaston's.

Two guesses? Isn't that cheating?
Depending if you're right or wrong, I'll figure out the points allotment later.

Is that a Canadian commercial?

:confused3 Dunno. Might be, but probably not.

Not exclusively but you can buy her stuff online. I only buy when it’s on super sale. www.katespade.com

I'm terrified to show this to Ruby.

I never edit in that little window. I just copy and paste in Word. You can put word window next to internet browser window to see both at same time. When I’m done I just copy and paste into the reply window and preview.

I do because DIS saves drafts now.
I move among several different computers at home and work.
So having the draft saved is a nice feature.

I love that ride and I'm friends with all the little dolls (you accept a friend request from one and you get a hundred more!), so back off, Buddy, or I will send those little characters to terrorize Canada! Specifically, your little corner of Canada.

You are one scary lady.

Very. Scary.

<backs away slowly>

Always a favorite! (the ride, not whatever the lady is eating)

I still think she was measuring her tongue width.

But yeah, it's a terrific ride.

There is no sashaying up to POTC. You have to skedaddle. Read the rulebook!

Rules are meant to be broken.
At least when it comes to sashaying vs skedaddling.

I have heard a little something of a story about George, but don't really recall...

And now you know.

You and redheads!

::yes::

I wouldn't have either. In fact, I wouldn't have guessed that you would ride it at all. If you had been curious about the new queue and asked me I would have told you it was "Meh."

Yeah. Just "meh".
I get that the majority of people who would or do enjoy that ride would enjoy the queue.
i.e. Little ones.
But for me? I'm glad I did it just to see what they did, but once was enough.

You're welcome.

Dole Whip!! You have ALL my attention!

Yes. Empty train track going to the top of Everest is more sad. It was down at the time I had planned our ride last November.

Oh, that bites. I would take Splash being down over EE any day.

We got no nap, but DGD loved EE.

Good for her!

And we didn't have to change her shoes before getting in line here like we did for RnRC.

:rolleyes1

Once again, read the rule book! No sashaying to BTMRR! Skedaddling only.
(I had "Sheesh!" here and had to come back and delete it. I can't pull off a Sheesh. I just can't.)

I am an adept "sheesh" aficionado.
And I was able to sashay because of the FP+.

Otherwise...

I really wanted to see the new queue on HM. We got quite a ways in before my younger daughter started backing away and turned to run back the way we came.

I get that. I could not convince either of my DDs (4 & 8 at the time) to go anywhere near it.
And I was okay with that.

I was there to make sure they had a wonderful time...
not be bullied into doing something they clearly didn't want to.

Same reason here as when we used the chicken door on TOT - she loves rides but cannot do scary! I really can't blame her - having the story of Hansel and Gretel read to me gave me nightmares for weeks.

Aw, poor Sandy.
And then you turned mean by inflicting horrible little dolls on people.

See? You know there is a rule book and just ignore it!

When it needs breaking... for my readers, of course.

There are many places in MK where it is perfectly acceptable to sashay or even saunter (Main Street), but if you are heading for one of my favorite rides, we ask that you skedaddle.

I will show you how to skedaddle.... in a later chapter.
Trust me.

You wouldn't believe this but one of my ride loving granddaughters, the younger one, claimed after our 4th ride on Space, that she didn't care for it at all and was done!

Bwahahahaha!

Oh, oh. Is that a laughter signifying a threat?
Or one meaning you'd never stop reading?
