Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

As most of your readers has gone for EPCOT Via Down Town then on to a boat to get to the destination as described on your first chapter & the first ride was Test Track, I’m going to go with Disney studios and the Rock & roller coaster as my choice so as not to give the impression that I followed everyone else who are all probably right.

I forgot to mention your travel time which was 35mins between parks.

Noted.

Awwww.... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yup. Gets me every time.

Hey! What am I being blamed for now?!

Does it really matter?
It's almost certainly your fault, no matter what it is, right?

Yeah, well....

tumblr_inline_mnj29pBDUw1rlpk9c.gif

Thanks. I feel much better now.

Nah, and not one of us makes any sense what so ever anyway. We passed the language on to you and your neighbours and you didn't do much better with it! :rotfl:

Don't tell that to someone from Newfoundland (oh, look it up)
I mad that mistake once.

Once.

Well then there is always your next one...

Ladies and gents. I hereby announce my retirement from TR writing
effective at the conclusion of this one.

Please keep the celebrations down to a dull roar.

Its true, its in there...maybe you should listen to it...its going to happen eventually...

Nope. It's not.
"Dad? Why do you have earphones in?"
"So I can listen to good music instead."

"Granddad? Why do you have earphones in?"
"So I can hear better. Honest."

"Great-Granddad? Why do you have earphones in?"
"What?"

"Why does Great-Great-Granddad have earphones in?"
"Because we promised it to him when we decided to bury him in IASW."

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! That is just so adorable :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

::yes:: She really got me in the feels that day.
I think (to date) that's my favourite memory with her.

Wait, I'm jumping off a bridge now??? :scared1:

Don't worry, I saved you when I replied to GoofyIsAsGoofyDoes.

All I can say to them is:

But who made me jump off the bridge....

Simple. I'd jump in right after her and rescue her.

Yeah, the argument didn’t work for Momma either.
Make us feel bad, yes, stop us from following our “friends”…
Not so much.

Doing it right now as I type this.
I think I like SRV's version better.
But it's a tough call.

Stevie does play it with a bit more passion.
Actually, Stevie played everything with a bit more passion than anyone else.
That’s why he’d be the pick if I had to come up with a single answer.
(among those three players at least… add in the rest and things get more complicated.)

Interesting how both Hendrix and Healey both played their guitars "wrong".

Uh-huh. Actually I play backwards as well …
Well, actually I play reverse-backwards.
The first instructor I had didn’t bother to ask me whether I was right or left handed. He just said: “you hold it like this”. What did I know? They could have made more money selling us a custom instrument had he bothered. Net result, I have my more dexterous (I hate that word) hand on the board rather than doing the picking. As such I’m good and figures and chord structures, but can’t pull of that “blazing speed” that many folks consider a necessity.

Three blocks away, Schwartz was getting his.

Another shot of mysterious, inexorable, official justice.

I'm sorry, you're being to vague there. Can you spell it out for me?

Nope…
You’re just gonn’a have to keep guessing.

Mozzarella!

Had to look that reference one up…
Had never heard of the stuff. They don’t sell such this far south and east of you.

Ladies and gents. I hereby announce my retirement from TR writing
effective at the conclusion of this one.

And stray away from the spot light?
We’ll see…

Don't worry, I saved you when I replied to GoofyIsAsGoofyDoes.

He did. I saw it! A full double gainer…

Directly into the rocks below.
I think he’ll be fine once he comes to.

Awwww.... look at the cute little pony!

Oh good. Glad that helped. I'm so good at the whole compassion thing

Yes, I noticed that about you right away.

Sorry. I don't know what came over me.
May a herd of camels stomp me into the desert sand.

Awww.....until she buries you in IASW...

Then all bets are off.

But who made me jump off the bridge....

The list is quite literally, endless.

Yeah, the argument didn’t work for Momma either.
Make us feel bad, yes, stop us from following our “friends”…
Not so much.

"Now you won't do something stupid just because Joey does it, will you?"
"No Momma."

"Hey! Wanna go do something stupid?"
"Okay Joey!"

Stevie does play it with a bit more passion.
Actually, Stevie played everything with a bit more passion than anyone else.

I might give that one to you.
Certainly over Hendrix... I think.
He was pretty mellow.

That’s why he’d be the pick if I had to come up with a single answer.
(among those three players at least… add in the rest and things get more complicated.)

I'll take Healey. Never forget first (and only) time I saw him live.
I was dumbstruck.

Uh-huh. Actually I play backwards as well …
Well, actually I play reverse-backwards.
The first instructor I had didn’t bother to ask me whether I was right or left handed. He just said: “you hold it like this”. What did I know? Interesting.
Never thought of it that way.

Another shot of mysterious, inexorable, official justice.

There has never been a kid who didn't believe vaguely but incessantly
that he would be stricken blind before he reached 21,

and then they'd be sorry.

Nope…
You’re just gonn’a have to keep guessing.

Guessing what?

Had to look that reference one up…
Had never heard of the stuff. They don’t sell such this far south and east of you.

Sorry. How insensitive of me.

American Sheese.

And stray away from the spot light?
We’ll see…

Well, I'd have to, wouldn't I?

He did. I saw it! A full double gainer…

Directly into the rocks below.
I think he’ll be fine once he comes to.

No worries. I landed on my head so no real damage done.

Sad that you are almost at the end of your trip in this report!! But an amazing MK day so far. Love your descriptions of ETWB lol. Mind my MK food ignorance...was that a Dole Whip float?? Was it Dole Whip with juice...just asking...to see if I must have one. Am also looking forward to trying the brew...but...may have to lower my expectations.

Sad that you are almost at the end of your trip in this report!!

Yup. Winding down.
But I'll have a little bonus Mini-Toronto-TR afterwards.

But an amazing MK day so far.

It was fun!

Love your descriptions of ETWB lol.

 Thanks!

Yes it was. On a hot day, it's the only way to go.
Pineapple Dole over pineapple juice.

Am also looking forward to trying the brew...but...may have to lower my expectations.

Do try it. Just to see what it is.
YMMV though. I think so far I'm up to 3 out of 4 don't like it on this TR, though.
I didn't mind it, but I was more "That's it?"
But I do know others really love it.

Hi pkondz! As you know, I'm not around much anymore, but I did want to get caught up on your TR.

I can't believe you rode small world. You definitely took me by surprise there.

I was hoping for a picture of the signed Tony's napkin! I have never seen one of them.

I'm going to guess that you went to Epcot, it took 20 minutes, and you rode Spaceship Earth.

Unfortunately I am a round. I really need to start exercising more.
But every time I start, my back gets t.....

You weren't talking about that, were you.

Nevermind!

(I have to get caught up "over there" too.)

I can't believe you rode small world. You definitely took me by surprise there.

I took me by surprise! I never thought I'd do it.
If that memory hadn't clicked just then or if I didn't have my iPod or ear buds....
it wouldn't have happened.

I was hoping for a picture of the signed Tony's napkin! I have never seen one of them.

Ugh! How stupid of me! Of course I should've done that! I'll see if I can get Elle to dig it up and I'll take a snap.

Oh I will definitely try it...both - the float and the brew...but...I know they did it to compete with the dark side's Butterbeer...which I LOVED when I tried that...so...not sure how I will feel about this....but I will give it a shot.

I know one person who has commented on both. And he liked both.
So if you liked Butterbeer, I would think that you'd like LeFou's?

Yes, I do believe I had that same thought. Well, perhaps it was slightly different...
let me think.

Ah, yes. I do believe it was less "Uh, ohh" and more...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!
OHMAGOD OHMAGOD OHMAGOD OHMAGOD aaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So almost the same.

Yeah, it's practically the same reaction.

Sorry to hear that. Come to Winnipeg and I'll cook you a nice meal, okay?
We can always fit one more around the table. (Skootch over kids.)

Okay, I'll leave now. Can you have dinner on the table by 6?

This is 'frican amazing!!!

BEST RIDE EVER!!

 But it doesn't really count if you don't listen to the song.

And, I'm relieved to say, I didn't.

In just a couple of seconds, Steven Tyler was belting out Sweet Emotion.
Phew! Close one!

I don't know what's worse - IASW song or Steven Tyler's screeching. :lmao:

JK

When Mme. Leota opened her eyes, the little girl jumped!
I didn't laugh, (didn't want to embarrass her)
but I did find it funny.

That's cute. ::yes::

As I got closer to the loading area,
the tour group showed up.
They had obviously been accorded some special privileges
as they were brought in through the exit.

They must have been on one of those VIP tours. My friends went in January this year and they did one of those tours. Someone from Disney would pick them up - they were staying at the Four Seasons - and escort them at the parks. They got to skip the lines at all the rides. It definitely isn't how I'd want to experience the parks.

So for those of you who get nervous with the drop,
plan a picture and you'll be surprised at how easy that drop is.

I'll have to try that next time to get the boys on the ride. Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2

It's no secret that I'm not big into character meets,
but this one really was well done.
It's almost more of a ride than a meet.

This makes me with we'd done it in April. Oh well, there's always next time. ::yes::

Love this! :)

"See if you can find me a hoodie. It has to be black.
And not a zip up hoodie, but a pull over.
And I don't want a big gaudy picture on it.
If you find one with a little logo on it, that's okay."

Tough one. And I never did find one.

That's too bad. With all the merch you wouldn't think you'd have trouble finding anything. I couldn't find a kid's Stitch or Oswald shirt.

One of the first threads I started, back in 2007,
was one asking people what the worst Disney restaurant was.
The majority picked either ABC Commissary or Tony's.

Now that's an interesting approach - make an ADR for the worst Disney restaurant. :rotfl:

Is it the best I've ever had?
Nope.
But it was fine. I'd have it again.

Spaghetti is one of my favourite meals.

Glad you liked it.

Once again, being honest here, I'm not sure how much I liked LeFou's Brew.
The passion fruit foam was good, but the apple juice,
even with the marshmallow, was just okay.

OMG - Passion fruit, marshmallow and apple juice?? Holy sweetness!! My teeth hurt just reading about it.

1. Which park am I heading off to?
No tricks, I'm going and staying at one park.
If you remember the wish list from page one,
(or just go look at it. First post.)
you should have no problems figuring out where I'm going.

2. How long does it take to get to that park?Holy
I timed it from MK exit until I passed the tapstiles at the next park.

3. First ride in that park?
Big hint: I haven't been on it yet this trip.

I'm going to go with Epcot, 23 minutes and Spaceship Earth

When it was our turn, she just grabbed onto Pooh in a hug.
This from a child who never hugged, or wanted to be hugged.
After a few seconds, maybe half a minute,
I started to tell her that we had to go so other kids would get a chance to meet Pooh.
Pooh just waved me away and Kay kept hugging. It went on for a long time.

Aww. :lovestruc

 But it doesn't really count if you don't listen to the song.

No?

Oh, Okay.... Then it's the worst ride in the world!!!

I don't know what's worse - IASW song or Steven Tyler's screeching. :lmao:

JK

 I will admit that I cannot stand Back in the Saddle because of his "singing".

They must have been on one of those VIP tours. My friends went in January this year and they did one of those tours. Someone from Disney would pick them up - they were staying at the Four Seasons - and escort them at the parks. They got to skip the lines at all the rides. It definitely isn't how I'd want to experience the parks.

It was a large group... maybe a dozen or more? Do they do VIP tours of that size?
I too wouldn't want to tour that way.
I don't stand in lines and I get to see and do what I want to see and do.

I'll have to try that next time to get the boys on the ride. Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2

No problemo.

This makes me with we'd done it in April. Oh well, there's always next time. ::yes::

::yes::

Thanks. It was really just a quick snap in passing.

That's too bad. With all the merch you wouldn't think you'd have trouble finding anything. I couldn't find a kid's Stitch or Oswald shirt.

I would think that you'd have a better chance at your list than mine, but...
either way, I guess we both struck out.

Happy Father's Day!

Do they have that in Canada?

Thanks Carrie! :goodvibes:
Yes, we do have it here, but....
DW got me a card and I saw it last night when I got home from work.
Kay said she wanted to make me breakfast... and to wake her up when I wanted it.
Elle was gone this morning for a work orientation.

Kay showed up around noon and did make me eggs and toast, so that was nice.
Ruby said she was tired and went back to bed
(to be fair, she was run ragged the last few days and has new medication that is making her drowsy).
Elle came home around 1pm and said "Happy Father's Day!" before disappearing into her room.

I cleaned the pool,
went grocery shopping,
dropped off a gift at my folks' place (they weren't in),
cooked supper for us and Ruby's Mom who was in the hospital for a few days,
packaged up said meal,
cleaned up,
watched TV for a few minutes...
and now I'm at work.

I'll be honest. I've had better Fathers Days!

On the plus side, I'm about halfway done editing the photos for the next update.

Thanks. It was really just a quick snap in passing.

I really like the color your camera captured. Mine is not the best for that.

I would think that you'd have a better chance at your list than mine, but...
either way, I guess we both struck out.

At least I could go with men's small.

And yet... it didn't seem that sweet.
I really have to try it again. I don't even remember what it really tasted like.

It's definitely worth trying. :thumbsup2 It sounds like something the boys would love.
