Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

Great pics and update!! I know I'm doing pathetically at the game. I'm gonna try to get back in...let's see. The pic sorta looks like the driver's seat on a bus? I'm sure you get a lotta laughs out of these crazy guesses lol. For next day...I will guess...MK for next day.....first ride...IASW lol...ok no that's not a guess....BTMRR :)

Love the night pictures of world showcase. You might not think they are as good as they could be but they capture the feel of World Showcase and that's great for those of us wishing we were there!

I never thought almost drowning would be useful in a contest but I'll gladly take the bonus points. It *almost* makes near drowning worth it lol

I think the picture is of the inside of your plastic bag.
I think you went to animal kingdom and rode expedition everest and had lunch at yack & yeti

We were just relaxing, enjoying being off our feet more than anything when..

peach_zpsgqoqmhkj.gif

We have no idea what it was that she said to us, but we both cracked up laughing.
We just weren't expecting to hear from her.
I turned to Ruby, "What did she say?"
Ruby said, "I don't know! But I cracked up anyway!"
so freaking cute!
You don't want to be downwind of the fireworks.
Since a lot of the action happens at ground... well, I guess water level,
you're view can be obscured by smoke.
That is quite good to know.
I've always wanted to visit Key West
It is a fascinating place with enough of a mysterious history to keep it interesting. I was there during a small hurricane so it remains quite dangerous (and interesting) to me.
Okay, so maybe not the best pictures in the World,
but I was bored and you're a captive audience.
:rotfl:
Of course I let them in front of me.
They're kids for Pete's sake!
Your heart is made of good stuff! :D
Beautiful!
Glittercat - 1 point for pointing out the glaring error in the post, 2 points for Land Sharks.
thank you kindly!
200.gif

I was down another MagicBandit.
Oogie Boogie, the bad guy from Nightmare Before Christmas...
sometime during the day, had boogied off.
Rats. seems those lil' suckers need backs of some sort
Anyone want to take a guess what and where this "never before seen" photo is?
I'll make it worth your while!

IMG_0495_zpsnme7g9ur.jpg
Is it a small mirror in plastic bag within another plastic bag? That is probably about as good of a guess as I can muster.
Miss Scarlet, in the Library, with the Candlestick! No?...
How about Hollywood Studios, Rockin' Roller Coaster , Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre?

Wow! Great pictures of Illuminations! It's frustrating when you get to a show or parade early, scope out your spot and then someone always wiggles their way in five minutes before it starts. We once a had woman in a scooter do that to us 2 minutes before the Electrical Light Parade. She was upset with us because she couldn't get through. We got there 45 minutes early! I wanted to tell her that just because you have a scooter does not make you entitled. She did mow down the people next to us, but I had littles and my mama bear instinct kicked in and we were NOT moving. :furious:
Thanks for the points although I think I didn't deserve the ones I got, but super excited to be part of the game and on the board!!:cool1:
Ok my guesses are:
Picture of the ceiling of the bus :confused3 (can't blame a girl for trying)
Park? Animal Kingdom
Ride? Kilamanjaro Safari
ADR: I was going to guess Yak and Yeti, but since you said it wasn't what we'd expect, I'm choosing Rainforest Cafe (do I get extra points for paying attention? I have to catch up!)
-Lindsey

Yes!!! I was right!!! :fish::dancer: Not gloating or anything.....

Yep. You're one of the few.
But I found it interesting that everyone who guessed right on Nemo,
guessed wrong on Illuminations.
Andy came closest with Turtle Talk. Same building.

Very nice vantage point! I happen to quite like your photos!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!

::yes:: He was amazing when he boxed.

Oh that bonus pic, that's a tough one. The inside of your camera bag??????

Noted. But it's a never before seen photo of Disney, remember?
Want to stick with that?

Bonus questions: my spidey sense is broken so I'll just throw something out there

MK
Space mountain
BOG

Check!

I think that it is a picture of some sort of shirt, or a poncho maybe?

Noted. But as I just mentioned above, it's a never before seen photo of Disney.

Plus this is your first post over here, so :welcome:
Glad to see you're following long! :goodvibes

Park tomorrow? Animal Kingdom

First attraction? Everest

ADR? Yak and Yeti

Check!

yay! update!

Just for you Carrie.

Man, I can't get back in first! That darn Andy!!!

I'm going to hold off on my guesses for now while I think about it.

Okay, but don't wait too long!
Uh... I'll explain in a separate post for those who don't read comments...

Your pictures were very nice.

Thanks, Mimi! :goodvibes

Great pics and update!!

Thanks, Kathy! :)

I know I'm doing pathetically at the game.

I won't lie. If this was a survival contest, you'd be almost kaput.
Keep trying, though!

The pic sorta looks like the driver's seat on a bus?

Noted.

I'm sure you get a lotta laughs out of these crazy guesses lol.

Truth? I actually root for those folks with lower scores.
I'd like more people to be at or near the top of the list.

For next day...I will guess...MK for next day.....first ride...IASW lol...ok no that's not a guess....BTMRR :)

Noted and.... Hey! Watch it lady! 'Dem's fightin' words!
ADR guess in MK?

Love the night pictures of world showcase.

Thanks, Susan! :)

You might not think they are as good as they could be but they capture the feel of World Showcase and that's great for those of us wishing we were there!

That's really nice of you to say! :goodvibes:
Thanks again!

I never thought almost drowning would be useful in a contest but I'll gladly take the bonus points. It *almost* makes near drowning worth it lol

Yeah. "Almost".
I'll take a pass on it next time, though.

I think the picture is of the inside of your plastic bag.

Noted.
Don't forget it's supposed to be a never before seen Disney photo.
Not sure if that would qualify?

I think you went to animal kingdom and rode expedition everest and had lunch at yack & yeti

Check!

so freaking cute!

Wow! Thanks! I don't think anyone's ever called me....

Wait.

You mean the starfish.

Oh.

So embarrassed.

That is quite good to know.

Just a little tidbit I picked up here on the DIS! :goodvibes

It is a fascinating place with enough of a mysterious history to keep it interesting. I was there during a small hurricane so it remains quite dangerous (and interesting) to me.

Ooooh. Lucky!
(Well, maybe not about the hurricane part.)

Wait.
Waitwaitwaitwait.

Hurricane.... Mermaid....

Did you get washed up on land there and that's why you're here now????

Your heart is made of good stuff! :D

Nah. Deep down I'm a real jerk.
Honest.

Beautiful!

Thanks! :goodvibes

thank you kindly!
200.gif

:lmao: You're welcome!

Rats. seems those lil' suckers need backs of some sort

Or strong glue.... Or metal rivets...

Is it a small mirror in plastic bag within another plastic bag? That is probably about as good of a guess as I can muster.

Noted.

Miss Scarlet, in the Library, with the Candlestick! No?...

 No.

How about Hollywood Studios, Rockin' Roller Coaster , Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre?

Wow! Great pictures of Illuminations!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked them! :goodvibes

It's frustrating when you get to a show or parade early, scope out your spot and then someone always wiggles their way in five minutes before it starts.

Yes, but that didn't happen.
The family was behind me and weren't trying to push forward or anything.
I only noticed them because I turned around at one point.
I looked down and saw these two little faces.
I asked the mom if the kids would like to come up to the fence and she was very grateful.

:furious:

Wow.
Thanks for sharing that.
I will gladly let you and your scooter in front of me if I'm standing.
But don't just barge in and expect everyone else to move.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

I despise people who think/act like they're entitled.

Thanks for the points although I think I didn't deserve the ones I got, but super excited to be part of the game and on the board!!:cool1:

Oh, no. The judges were quite adamant that you earned those points.

Picture of the ceiling of the bus :confused3 (can't blame a girl for trying)

Noted.
And no, I can't blame you for trying!

Park? Animal Kingdom
Ride? Kilamanjaro Safari
ADR: I was going to guess Yak and Yeti, but since you said it wasn't what we'd expect, I'm choosing Rainforest Cafe

Check!

(do I get extra points for paying attention? I have to catch up!)

Yes.

Just a quick note for any and all who haven't posted their guesses yet.
I'm heading out to Toronto in a week for a few days.
Since I don't plan on bringing the laptop, I hope to get the next update done before I go.

So I'm aiming for Saturday or Sunday*.

You've been warned!!!

*This in no way guaranties that an update will happen by then.
It's just what I'm aiming for.

Your pictures, as usual, were great. Back later for a breakdown and guesses. It was a busy weekend - dance recital, crawfish boil, baby shower.

Your pictures, as usual, were great

Thanks! :goodvibes

Back later for a breakdown and guesses.

Yes, my TRs have that affect on people.
Hopefully you'll recover from your breakdown in short order.

It was a busy weekend - dance recital, crawfish boil, baby shower.

Ah yes. I'm familiar with those types of weekends.
Well, our dance recital isn't until the middle of this week though.
It's late this year since there was a competition at the time we usually do it.
(I wasn't involved in that one myself, though.)

I'd love to go to a crawfish boil.
I've heard of them, just never been.
The closest I've come, is catching them years ago as a kid.
But then we just let them go.

And of course, as a guy, I'm exempt... possibly excluded,
from baby showers.
And I'm really, really, really okay with that.

Or maybe not having just stumbled on some of Andy's most recent comments.....
What? You don't like Baby Ruths? :confused3 :rotfl:

Dolphins and sharks have one thing in common.
They are both very, very skilled... predators.
::yes:: And sharp teeth.

I have no basis of fact for this statement,
but if the dolphins are indeed territorial,
than I would suspect they would be more of a danger than the sharks.
Definitely. And they're smarter. How many trained sharks have you seen? Although that would make for an awesome show. Just think about the possibilities.

I really wonder if Disney maybe overestimated how popular this ride would be.
Um... based on the length of the queue, yes!

Since a lot of the action happens at ground... well, I guess water level,
you're view can be obscured by smoke.
And your breathing.

Although if I kept going around the lagoon and kept heading south...
I'd come nowhere near Mexico.

But I've always wanted to visit Key West, so that would've been good.
I hope you can swim... :faint:

As it got darker, I snapped a couple of pics of some of the pavilions
that I could see from my vantage point.
Not a bad view at all. For just being mounted to the rail, the angle doesn't look half bad.

I knew the kids would have an obstructed view,
but I'd come early and took the time to find a good spot.
Not to mention having set up the camera and everything.
So too bad! Come early next time!
And all that pixie dust from the seas just vanished... :rolleyes1

Which is another reason I let the kids in front of me.
With all the low stuff, they were going to miss the best parts! (IMHO)
::yes:: But at least they were also going to miss the globe. :rolleyes1

Well, it was as good as it always is, of course.
It doesn't punch me in the gut like Wishes does,
but I really do enjoy watching it.
Totally agree.

Yes, I sashay.
But when I have someplace I need to be...
Very few can keep up with me.
I walk very fast and I scan for gaps and openings as I go.
And I use them.
The benefits of going through a park by yourself.

Dodging, ducking
You left off a couple... dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge... the 5 D's of dodgeball.

I was prepared for my traditional 20 minutes wait departure time,
but at exactly 9:30, another bus pulled up!
Score! Just a three minute wait!
Seriously... you have had the BEST luck with buses on this trip. Nobody ever gets that lucky.

I looked at my wrist and...
Well of course.
It figured, really.

I was down another MagicBandit.
Oogie Boogie, the bad guy from Nightmare Before Christmas...
sometime during the day, had boogied off.
Those things are cool, but Disney has it figured out. They just don't fasten very well and there is basically no way you can avoid having one fall off from time to time. Nothing but a straight money maker for Disney.

Anyone want to take a guess what and where this "never before seen" photo is?
I'll make it worth your while!
Um... the corner (seat/back/arm) of a chair covered in plastic in the resort lobby?

I have no idea...

Which park am I going to tomorrow?

What is my first ride?
(No tricks this time. If you guess the right park, you should guess the right ride.)

I have a lunch ADR in that park. Where is it?
(Hint: It's not in WS and it's probably not what you'd expect.)
Well... I want to say MK. But you mentioned 2 days at EPCOT earlier on... And you mentioned WS. Which might be to throw us off the scent. Hmmmm...

Ok, MK, Splash, and Liberty Tree Tavern... just because CRT is way beyond "not what I'd expect."

And if it isn't MK, it will be EPCOT, SSE, Garden Grill

yay! update! Man, I can't get back in first! That darn Andy!!!
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

You're definitely going to have a chance to catch up on this one... :rolleyes1

Finally had a chance to come by and catch up on the last 2 chapters. Lady H and I have been busy at work and getting ready to leave on our NY City adventure this Friday. My boss is on vacation this week, so I can finally have an easy week for once hopefully.

I've often thought about learning how to scuba myself. Just never have found time to take the classes or for that matter, have money to take the classes. Either way, I'm glad you found a way to spread some Disney magic. That is truly something I'm sure you'll remember forever. As long as you don't get old timers (aka Alzheimer).

Lady H and I have to laugh at the running of the bulls when the park closes. Especially after Illuminations and Wishes. We casually take our time and sashay through the parks. Actually I think its more stumble. Especially if we're leaving Epcot. That drinking around the world challenge in one day can leave you walking funny.

I don't have any guesses this round. I raised the white flag a long time ago. I'm happy to be keeping up on this TR. Hopefully work will settle down one of these months and I can get back to more posting. I guess I could try posting at home as well in between fixing the truck, pulling the weeds and all that other fun stuff.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

A couple of points.
Dolphins and sharks have one thing in common.
They are both very, very skilled... predators.
I tried to Google how many people are injured by dolphins and,
well, it's not something that seems to be kept track of.
But there are incidents where dolphins have injured people.
Huh. I guess I never thought of it that way. I'm just used to thinking of Dolphins as friendly.

I really wonder if Disney maybe overestimated how popular this ride would be.
I really wonder that myself sometimes.

I leaned forward to hear what Peach had to say and...
Well, either she didn't say anything this time, or it wasn't loud enough to hear.
If you really want to figure it out I recommend looking up a ride POV on youtube but I believe she is just saying goodbye. (I think? :confused3)

You don't want to be downwind of the fireworks.
Since a lot of the action happens at ground... well, I guess water level,
you're view can be obscured by smoke.
Also if you're close enough the wind might blow debri at you. :rolleyes1

Besides, there are only so many fireworks pictures you can see
without getting bored.
True. It its always so hard to limit them. ::yes::

There. That was fairly painless wasn't it?
Actually they were wonderful! Well done!

Yes. Tapstiles.
:rotfl: Glad that word thrills you so! :rotfl2:

Gracefulskinny - 2 points for sharp eyes.
Thanks. Though I think I might need to go back and look at what my sharp eyes caught.

I was down another MagicBandit.
Oogie Boogie, the bad guy from Nightmare Before Christmas...
sometime during the day, had boogied off.
Poor Oogie

Anyone want to take a guess what and where this "never before seen" photo is?
I'll make it worth your while!
The underside of your mattress

Which park am I going to tomorrow?
Epcot

What is my first ride?
Test Track

I have a lunch ADR in that park. Where is it?
(Hint: It's not in WS and it's probably not what you'd expect.)
Coral Reef

We have no idea what it was that she said to us, but we both cracked up laughing.
We just weren't expecting to hear from her.
I turned to Ruby, "What did she say?"
Ruby said, "I don't know! But I cracked up anyway!"

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine!

I rode it... and really liked it!
I leaned forward to hear what Peach had to say and...
Well, either she didn't say anything this time, or it wasn't loud enough to hear.

I think Nemo is worth riding just to see the effect of the characters projected into the aquarium. That's pretty cool.

Okay, so maybe not the best pictures in the World,
but I was bored and you're a captive audience.

Not at all. They're good shots!:thumbsup2

Right around 9:00pm the show started and it was...
Well, it was as good as it always is, of course.
It doesn't punch me in the gut like Wishes does,
but I really do enjoy watching it.

I like Illuminations a lot. If it just had more pyrotechnics and less globe-spinning, it'd be perfect!

There. That was fairly painless wasn't it?

Nice photos!

Score! Just a three minute wait!

mr-burns-excellent.jpg

Boy, was I way off on that one.

So I popped into the store and...
Nope. She's not working tonight.

D'oh!

I was down another MagicBandit.
Oogie Boogie, the bad guy from Nightmare Before Christmas...
sometime during the day, had boogied off.

It appears these things have some connection issues.

Anyone want to take a guess what and where this "never before seen" photo is?
I'll make it worth your while!

Oh, man...what in the heck is that?

Something in gray plastic...a poncho? Part of furniture in a room being painted?

Which park am I going to tomorrow?

I'm going with DHS. You mentioned wanting to take a bus there and then the boat to Epcot, and I don't think you've done that yet.

What is my first ride?
(No tricks this time. If you guess the right park, you should guess the right ride.)

Rock 'n Roller Coaster.

I have a lunch ADR in that park. Where is it?
(Hint: It's not in WS and it's probably not what you'd expect.)

Prime Time is off the list. So let's go with Sci-Fi Theater.

And sharp teeth.

The better to bite off an entire leg with....

Definitely. And they're smarter. How many trained sharks have you seen? Although that would make for an awesome show. Just think about the possibilities.

"Ladies and gentlemen. To show you how well these sharks are trained,
Jodi will now swim across the tank... by being pushed by the sharks!
Take it away Jodi! There she goe... uh.... oh my.... ooooh, that's gotta hurt.... ugh... yuck....
Guess we need to keep training those sharks... and get another sucker, er, employee to swim with them!"

And your breathing.

That too.

I hope you can swim... :faint:

Nah. I'll just make a little dog leg to the left and take the bridges.

Not a bad view at all. For just being mounted to the rail, the angle doesn't look half bad.

Thanks!

And all that pixie dust from the seas just vanished... :rolleyes1

 I was thinking that when I was writing.
I kinda wondered if anyone would buy that I'd not let them in.

The benefits of going through a park by yourself.

Yup. Ruby's learned that when I start doing that, she just lets go of my hand.
I come to a dead stop, wait for her to grab my hand again, and go slower.

You left off a couple... dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge... the 5 D's of dodgeball.

Of course. How silly of me.

Seriously... you have had the BEST luck with buses on this trip. Nobody ever gets that lucky.

::yes:: Except for those two 20 minute waits at the end of the first two days,
they were always awesome.

Those things are cool, but Disney has it figured out. They just don't fasten very well and there is basically no way you can avoid having one fall off from time to time. Nothing but a straight money maker for Disney.

Yup. And they probably have some machine that sorts through all the garbage at the end of the day and they re-sell them.

Um... the corner (seat/back/arm) of a chair covered in plastic in the resort lobby?

Noted,

Ok, MK, Splash, and Liberty Tree Tavern... just because CRT is way beyond "not what I'd expect."

Check!

Finally had a chance to come by and catch up on the last 2 chapters. Lady H and I have been busy at work and getting ready to leave on our NY City adventure this Friday. My boss is on vacation this week, so I can finally have an easy week for once hopefully.

Hi Mike! I know you guys have been busy. Hope this next week will give you a chance to breathe.
Man your trip snuck up on me.
You guys need the break. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time!

I've often thought about learning how to scuba myself. Just never have found time to take the classes or for that matter, have money to take the classes.

I wouldn't do it now. For the same reasons. I just don't have the time or spare moola.

Either way, I'm glad you found a way to spread some Disney magic.

::yes:: It was the most amazing thing I've done at Disney.
Not the most amazing thing I've seen... but the most amazing thing I've personally done.

That is truly something I'm sure you'll remember forever. As long as you don't get old timers (aka Alzheimer).

Remember what? :confused3

Well, I was unfortunately sober (no drinking and diving), so that played a part.

I don't have any guesses this round. I raised the white flag a long time ago. I'm happy to be keeping up on this TR

Check. And I get it.

I guess I could try posting at home as well in between fixing the truck, pulling the weeds and all that other fun stuff.

::sad2::

So much free time. How do you decide what to do with it all?

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Won't be too long.

Huh. I guess I never thought of it that way. I'm just used to thinking of Dolphins as friendly.

Well, if I had to chose between being in a pool with a dolphin or a shark...
I know which one I'd pick.

And it ain't the shark.

If you really want to figure it out I recommend looking up a ride POV on youtube but I believe she is just saying goodbye. (I think? :confused3)

I've actually done that... And I couldn't hear it then either!

Also if you're close enough the wind might blow debri at you. :rolleyes1

"Okay! Let's watch Illuminations!
Oooooh. Aaaaaah.... Ouch! Agh!!"

Actually they were wonderful! Well done!

Thanks! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Glad that word thrills you so! :rotfl2:

It does!

The underside of your mattress

Noted.

Epcot
Test Track
Coral Reef

Check!

Thank you for the next chapter :)

Well, I haven't written it yet, so now the pressure's on to live up to the hype!

Sometimes it's just wonderful to see the enjoyment through other people's eyes!

::yes:: The look I got from the mom was better than anything.

I have never won at that game. But I also never want to leave, so I just enjoy being in the throngs of people.

I really wanted to get back as quickly as possible.
I had another early morning coming up and was already pretty tired.

I'll guess the picture is the plastic bag at the bottom of your backpack.

Noted.
But don't forget it's a "never before seen Disney picture". Not sure if that would qualify.
Hint. Hint.

I think you return to Epcot to ride Soarin' and go to lunch at Garden Grill.
