Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

Haven't even read the last few comments.
I managed to catch up on Tammie's TR... but now it's getting late and lack of sleep is catching up, so...
Shout outs tomorrow!

Plus... We done good at dance today.

Night all.

Dislike!!!

What's this "WE" about dance? Did you dance today?

Gracefulskinny - 2 points for tap dancing with stile.
Glad I could help you solve one of life's mysteries.:rotfl2:

Not bad for just joining in!

Whether it be giving up your seat on the bus
(And I actually did do that... several times... but it's such a small thing.)
Not such a small thing when your the one getting the seat! :thumbsup2:wizard:::yes::

Plus... $100 worth of balloons is what... two?
8 actually. $12 each.

Okay I am all caught up you may continue. What? You have a life and weren't waiting for me ?

Oh, boy... Busy, busy, busy.
Nice to see you back! :goodvibes

I'm surprised you lived through your childhood with all of your water stories

You're surprised!! :faint:

Jim is certified also and I think his last dive was around the same time as yours. We were in Okinawa and his diving partner chose to dive without him in a party of three all doing different things. Tragically he was killed so it put a huge damper on that activity amongst our friends.

Oh, that's terrible!
They keep harping on "always have a buddy" and that certainly illustrates why.
I'll have a bit more to say about this in the next update, actually.

Now he says he would want to refresh if he were going again.

Not a bad idea.
It was definitely a little unnerving to do it again after such a long hiatus.

DS Ryan got certified at our local pool and lake for his senior project in high school. I think he only dove once since then, but he lives in a place where good diving is not easy to get to.

As do I. Good for him for getting certified, though.

I love the water but have only snorkeled I love all of the bright colored fish and just seeing all the life that is below the surface. - I'm looking forward to reading about your dive.

Probably start it tonight.

Don't hurry on my account.

Phew! Thanks!
But Carrie may disagree with that sentiment.

I agree that it should be included in school or required for every child through the YMCA or similar organization. It would prevent a lot of drowning deaths.

It would! And... I can see it now.
There would be some parents arguing that they have rights and their kids shouldn't be forced to swim.
There would be minor C list celebrities who would claim that swimming at an early age
causes hyper-thyroidism or something.

It doesn't really work for everybody, though. I took lessons every winter at the local high school, and then again during summer stays with my aunt and uncle, and I can go through the motions, but never got the breathing right. I can paddle myself around a pool and tread water, so that will have to do.

I think it depends on the method too.
I remember taking "lessons" at the Y when I was young.
Total and complete, utter waste of time.
No real teaching went on at all.

But my DDs went for lessons and I was amazed at how well they were taught.
That's why they both can swim better than I can.

I'm not a gambling-type person, not even on a sure thing like this.

 Okay... Besides, if you did, I might take it as a personal challenge and do it.

I'd hate it.
But I'd do it.

Once.

I want to see Tomorrowland and Avengers 2, but the Avengers should probably be seen in 3D in the theater. We (daughters, granddaughter) went to Pitch Perfect 2 this weekend, which was at the very top of our list. Aca-awesome! With all of these on my gotta see list, it's just possible I'm a nerd.

I'm getting more and more curious about Tomorroland. There was a two page article about it in Sunday's paper.

And yes... it's possible that you are.

Hi! :wave2: So I'd written out a detailed reply to your last update days and it must have been lost. :sad2: I'd wondered why you hadn't replied to me. :confused3

I tend not to reply to the phantom posts...
just the real ones.

:rolleyes1

Besides, I'm too busy trying to keep up with your TR!!
And this morning I see I'm behind again! :faint:

So I'm too annoyed right now to write it out all over again.

I totally understand.
I'm not angry.
Really!
It's okay!
Hey! Relax!
I said it's fine!
Just back away from the keyboard!!!!

:duck:

The seas are big, it's amazing.

::yes::

That's a lot of water experiences.

 Possibly too many....

One is too many.

I can't believe you even go near the water no less have a SCUBA certification.

I'll mention this in the next chapter.

Can't wait to hear about it. :goodvibes

Hope to start on it tonight.

I used to be a swimming teacher -certified Life Guard as well- and even got to teach a Water Babies class one year.

Somehow this doesn't surprise me in the least.... Little Miss Mermaid. :)

It was great fun and by getting them in the water that early they had no fear but still had the reflex to hold their breath when they went under.

Cool! Never thought of that.

The most challenging group by far were the 2nd graders ;) those lil' ones were fearless, flailing, and didn't tend to listen very well. ;)

"Dear Diary. Today I kept Billy, Sam, Lisa, Joanne, Kelly, Robert (2X), Phil,
Giselle, Rebecca, Michael (3X) and Darren from drowning."

Have fun today! :D

We did! Thanks! :goodvibes

That's a phrase worthy of father of the year.

It would be, if it weren't for all the thousands of other Fathers who do similar or more every day.
So I guess I'll say thanks for the thought, but doubt I qualify.

Just finished up the last ever dance competition with DD17 - one more year end recital to go!

We are almost at that point.
After her competing in multiple genres, she's 18 now and on her own....
And we caved and told her she could take one class next year.

Now be honest... you're a little sad it's over, aren't you?

Oh good... well, not really, but from a purely selfish point of view, maybe so.
I've been a bit behind on TR's as well, but it seems I got back to this one just under the wire.
In any case, Hope that the competition went well

It did! :)

The Pit of Despair!

Almost. It was a pit filled with water, so.... close.

I don’t know, most dogs get a pretty good handle on that concept strait from birth.

::yes::
And I did think that... but didn't go there.

And yet... you did.

More pictures means more time to “Oooo” and “Ahhh”.
More words mean more opportunities to be snide and acerbic.

Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Uh, oh.
This does not bode well for moi.

tumblr_inline_mlacqiA0WI1qz4rgp.gif

All right! All right!

I attribute my success to blind luck and sheer incompetence.

But it's working, so run with it!
(But not with scissors.)

Well, what did you expect?
Mark is barely even house broken.

That's true.

Horseshoes and hand- grenades

::yes::

And yet, failed to connect it to the actual outcome.
C'est la vie

It was so tough to come up with something that would be so obscure... yet make sense later.
I in no way wanted to give a hint that might lead to someone guessing the answer.

Well what’d ya’ know…
An “Ahhhh” moment that didn’t require a single photograph.

Your girls are heroes.

::yes:: Yes they are.
And Kay just happened to be sitting next to me as I was reading that.
So I asked her if she remembered doing that (it was a while ago)
She remembered. :goodvibes

Heh. Love that gif.

“All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up.”

Wrong park. DHS is down that-a-ways.

Oh my, but there are a large number of truly wrong comments that can be tied to that one.
Disney… remember, we’re at Disney… Behave.

:sad2: I knew someone would go there.
I just knew it.
Actually, what she really asked was "What size BC do I wear?"

And I had no idea.

But then again…
does anyone really know anyone?

Not until the DISmeet.

Some secrets just shouldn’t be shared.
(Like the existence of “Tinker-Bill”)

:sad2: That's one image that is burned permanently into everyone's collective retinas.

Perfect.
The Jolly Green Giant should at least have to deal with a couple decent water hazards when playing that hole.

Thought of that too, actually.

He’d be sleeping with the fishes
Oh, wait…
Never mind.

Heh.

So it’s about the equivalent of having to feed a couple of teenage boys, then?

Yup. Just add another ton of cake and ice cream and you'd be almost there.

The tour is still young.
And no mention was made as to what the sharks were to be fed.

The previous tour group.

See that Bears game last week?”
“Yeah. Hell of a game. Hell of a game.”
“Bears got a great team this year. They're gonna go all the way.”

:lmao: That's exactly what I was thinking!
Except I was worried that some wouldn't get the reference.
I think I actually wrote "So! How 'bout 'dem Bears! Da Bears!"

“So long and thanks for all the fish!”

::yes::

That is a right harrowing list of Water Episodes right there.
That you then conquer any overpowering fears and got your diving certification is a monumental display of determination and will. You are to be commended sir
(and there won’t be a lot of snark getting tossed out through this part of the story line)

Oh, gee. You make it sound like I've done this heroic thing.
It really just sort of happened.
I'll get into more details next update.

“Coppertone” is still what the smell of the beach is to me.

::yes::

At least you didn’t also ask them to hold on to your beer.
(sorry, couldn’t leave that one laying there… I do feel bad about it though)

Who says I didn't????

I'm back!!! Post the next update

NOW!!!

Hmmm.... that's pretty subtle...
Not really sure what you're trying to say here.....
Hmmmm...

Nope. Sorry. Just not getting it.

You'll have time tonight right?

Apparently not... since you posted that yesterday.

:rolleyes1

Dislike!!!

:lmao:

What's this "WE" about dance? Did you dance today?

Saturday and Sunday, actually.
Same routine, but in two different categories.

Glad I could help you solve one of life's mysteries.:rotfl2:

You're a Godsend!

Not bad for just joining in!

Not too shabby! :goodvibes

Not such a small thing when your the one getting the seat! :thumbsup2:wizard:::yes::

There's no way... No WAY, I'm going to let some woman holding a toddler in one arm
and a stroller in the other stand while I sit on my butt.
It's not a big deal, it's just the right thing to do.
Anyone would do the same.

8 actually. $12 each.

8....

8 balloons for $100....

What the heck is wrong with this picture?!?!?!

(Although as Kay just pointed out...
"It's a balloon inside a balloon. Who wouldn't want one???")

Congrats to your daughter!

I'll pass that along! :goodvibes

I want to be there for that... with a video camera charged up and ready.

Actually, they do video it. And then charge an arm and a leg.

Hey! Look at me! All caught up....
Uh.... Looks like I have no less than four TRs to comment on....

THEN I can get to work on the next update.

Well, DH at this house won't watch any dancing except a portion of the year end recital and provide occasional transportation. Don't underestimate the support of actually being present and enthusiastic.

Heck. You're right.
I'm amazing.

Where's my award?

I'm sad that the enthusiasm for dancing is long gone, and unfortunately this year has been about finishing something you have committed to. It's impossible to instill in youngins that you must find your own joy in each situation - hopefully she'll learn this upon further reflection!

Our DD still wants to dance... which is why we said we'd pay for one more year.
We'll see how she manages with University tacked on, too.

I tend not to reply to the phantom posts...
just the real ones.

Oh, come on. You can't see the comments I meant to write? You're slipping...

Besides, I'm too busy trying to keep up with your TR!!
And this morning I see I'm behind again!

I went three days before my last update. That's pretty good. I'm trying to slow down. I don't want to stress out my loyal readers. ::yes::

I totally understand.
I'm not angry.
Really!
It's okay!
Hey! Relax!
I said it's fine!
Just back away from the keyboard!!!!

It bugs me when the DIS eats my posts. :(

I'll mention this in the next chapter.

Looking forward to it. :goodvibes

No. I said I don't reply to them.
Of course I see them.

I see all.

Too late!

Heading over there now.

It bugs me when the DIS eats my posts. :(

Even DISboards gotta eat. That's how they get to be big DISboards.

Peep! :) Trying to read as much as I can before I settle into one last round of re-listening to lectures before hitting the sack for tomorrow's exam.

Peep! Back atcha.
Stuff came up today so didn't get a chance to start the next chapter.
But I'm at work tomorrow and will start it then for sure.

Good luck with the exam tomorrow!

I want YOUR job. ;) LOL! :rotfl2:

Thank you much! Trying to get some last minute studying in by passively listening to online lectures right now.

Okay... pics uploaded to Pbucket.
Fought with the videos...
Apparently you can't use them from Pbucket anymore,
so I had to set up a new account at Vimeo.
I think that'll work.

Now just have to write the chapter...
