What a sweet sweet wife - always looking at things from a logical perspective. I have to say, I would be hard pressed to suggest a solo trip for DH - then again, I'm the one that enjoys Disney and he has really joined the bandwagon since.

And if I'm lucky, I'll get it Tuesday.

Have faith - I'm sure it will arrive. We seem to be "lucky" enough to experience fraud on our cards or be part of some 'breach' at least once a year. This typically happens over a holiday weekend or such where we are without a card. The companies usually overnight the card. I do hope you get it as that is not something you need to worry about while out of the country.

I have but three days to go until
lift off for Disney.

So exciting!!!

Fast forward to a few months ago.
Several of my DIS friends are
traveling to the World this fall.
Wouldn't it be nice to see
some of them?

Ahem...you could have waited an extra month...

And then Ruby did what Ruby does.
"Can we maybe do something local?" She asks.
"What did you have in mind?" I query.
"How about a quick trip to Banff?" She says.
"Yes! We can do that!"

So we're going to Banff.

I don't know anything about Banff but I'll throw you a woohoo anyway!

So here's the itinerary.
I fly down to Disney on Wednesday.
Fly back on Sunday.
Gather up Ruby, then fly to Edmonton, AB
on Monday.
Grab a car and see the Rockies.
Back on Saturday.

A dual whirl-wind trip!
With more highs and lows coming up.

That sounds more intense than my trip and mines four weeks longer!

I called the credit card company
and....

Yes, they said they'd reverse the charges.
And they canceled my card.
The one with all the reservations on it.
(Does this sound familiar, @SnowWhiteOz ?)
They're sending me a new card...
And if I'm lucky, I'll get it Tuesday.
If not....

I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

A google search suggest the flight leaves Winnipeg at 5:15am getting you to Toronto at 8:37, and then flying out 10:35 arriving Orlando at 13:20. That would mean you'd get to a park that day

You did Pop last time so I was going to say one of the all stars - but a quick look at the rates says Pop is only an extra $10 a night and I reckon that would be worth it for you (the dedicated bus etc).

You could be keen to try AK to experience the new night things but my heart says you'll go MK as it has late night EMH.

I think you've skimped on the VIP pass this time but they still remember you so you only wait 12 minutes on this day.

I plodded out to the cab
and plunked myself in the backseat.
The cabbie reversed the car out of the
driveway and into the street.
"Where are you going!?!?!" I cried out.
Thankfully I wasn't completely asleep.
The driver stopped, and pulled back
into the driveway.

This is like the reverse plot of Home Alone.

The DDs were 8 and 12 at the time.
I wanted to show them as much
of Disney as I possibly could.
It was rope drop to late.
Every. Day.
I think on day 3 or 4 Ruby put her foot down.
"You go!" She said. "I'm going to do laundry
and sit by the pool."
And she did.
And it was her favourite day.

Those non-disney folk just love that "relaxing" thing.. I dont get it

and I know how lucky I am.

OMG! I can't even believe that at 13 you even thought it was OK to leave the house in just Long Johns! I would have at least put something else on over them!

She was okay with going,
until I broke her.

That's too bad. Maybe if we all four went together. She could accompany Fran back to the hotel and relax, and when I got tired of your running around, I would let you continue on while I went back and relaxed with Fran and Ruby!

I had the flights picked,
the cruise (and cabin!) picked,
but the Disney web site was acting up.
As soon as it settles down,
I'll book this thing.

It was then that I received a text.
"Luna" (our new puppy) "hurt her leg.
"Going to emergency vet."

Well at least you found out before you booked everything.

Wasn't too expensive.
Only a bit more than a Disney Cruise.

Trip.
Canceled.

It's too bad you didn't have a larger reserve slush fund, but I understand the critters come first.

Well that is quite the whirlwind adventures, and very very different.

This morning, I decide to check
my credit card
to see if the bill has gone through.
Yep. There it is.
Along with about eight cash withdrawals.
For about $25 each.
(with accompanying $5 cash advance fees)
For a total of just over $270.
In Ukrainian hryvnias. (No idea. It's their money.)

Yup that happened to us on our last Disneyworld trip only we were on our way to the airport when we found out about the fraud charges. Luckily they overnighted the card to our hotel and we had other cards to use in the meantime.

And if I'm lucky, I'll get it Tuesday.
If not....

I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

I'm going to guess Epcot for their F&W stuff. You got scared off by the lines and drunk people I mentioned on Saturday night, and especially since that's opening day.

We fly down Thursday! Also from Canada. Ours was a last minute trip because we had Westjet dollars about to expire. We are staying at Old Key Westin a two bedroom. Bigger than our usual one bedroom but it was all that was available on short notice. So cool.
