Canadian Buffoon's Hi Low Vacation - South Central Musings

Punchy aren't we?

Hey! It's my third midnight in a row!
I'm allowed!

Well the thing I notice the most are two things. The gals who wear shorts so short that their butt cheeks hang out and the ones in the skin tight leggings that really have no business doing so.

I don't know whether to applaud them,
or avert my eyes.

I probably don't notice scantily clad gals because I tend to ignore young and annoying folks.

 Good point!

Plus most everyone in so Cal is scantily clad. Its just too hot to wear many clothes.

I'm going to die, aren't I?

All my homes have been on a slab foundation. The only basement I knew was at my grandparents in New England.

Huh!
And here I thought it was more the norm
than the exception.

One piece bread. Butter on half, peanut butter on the other. Fold it so the fillings are in the middle.

I could eat that.

Variation: cheese foldover. One piece bread, spread with mayonnaise, place a slice of pasteurized processed cheese food on top, fold over so cheese is on the middle. I don't eat these things, I just make 'em.

But not that.
Unless it was grilled.

They're expensive!

Aye, there's the rub.

Oops! Did I just give you a reason
to get one now??

But they're wafer thin. :confused3

Got through a couple!
(And didn't need a bucket!)

If it doesn't happen Mon-Thurs this week, it will be another week before anything happens. This F&W Festival is going to take up lots of my time

Take your time. :rolleyes1

Hi Pkondz
Jus a little coment about basements it is the in thing amongst the millionaire's of London at the moment to see who can build the biggest basement in their Street and include the biggest underground swimming pool a few famous ones have been taken each other to court over it. Quite a few are acting like big kids over it.It's away to enlarge your property if you've got the cash Basements over here are relatively a new phenomenon.

so no basements there either. Huh!
I'd love an underground swimming pool.
Actually... if I just flood my basement....

Nah. Then the furnace wouldn't work
and we'd have a skating rink instead.

If you become more famous by apearing in the west jet advert you will have to post the link to YouTube so we can all see it.

This is it here.
At 2:13 you'll see a woman running under an arch of arms.
They asked us to do that.

Yup, gonna be good. I think the muscles in my foot need some good solid strengthening. I know you understand the challenge of walking on a variety of winter sidewalks and paths, you never know exactly what your foot will land in - cement, angled snow, packed snow, fluffy snow covering black ice - oh, the joys! But my motivation (aka Disney park passes) are sitting so patiently, waiting for healthy Donna to save up some big $$$$!
I know all too well!
Was moving a couch out of MIL's house today
and hit a patch of ice.
My feet went out from under me,
but I managed to stay upright.
Then I wondered how happy I would've been
wiping out and then having a couch
land on top of me as a bonus.

Well, in the Midwest, basements are normal in houses. You have to dig down to frost depth (3'-6" in northern Illinois, for example), so you may as well dig a basement. Raised ranches are a cheaper way to take advantage of this requirement, so you see a lot of those, too. But hardly any houses don't have any kind basement near me. (Sometimes there is a crawl space, instead)

I'm ready for Alison's new TR. I'm also ready for everyone else to update. Should I start a PTR for my 2018 WDW trip? Would anyone read it?

I got my LLC so I can work from home. It's called Carrie Cat. I just missed getting into the current training class for Disney. :( Now I have to wait for the next one. Not sure how long that will be. The class I missed was for reservations. The next one should be for dining. That would be interesting.

Every house in Ohio I've ever lived in has had a basement. I even had a room in a basement for awhile when I lived in Cleveland.

Here I thought you had skipped responding to me. Then I realized I forgot to hit post. DUH!!!

I don't know whether to applaud them,

I find myself looking back over and over like one does when they drive past a car accident.

I'm going to die, aren't I?

Only if you're wearing your touk and parka. It was 85 degrees F today, finally back to tank top and capris weather!

Huh!

That one's not so bad.

But not that.

No, too expensive. Remember, running out of money.

Got through a couple!
(And didn't need a bucket!)

I saw that, I mean that you got through a couple. Not whether or not you needed a bucket.

Take your time. :rolleyes1

I have a feeling it will take some time, Fran wants to go out to Anza Borrego Tuesday (since we don't have band) and that's a good three and a half hour drive each way....so there goes a day of getting caught up on the DIS!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Now, I'm 2nd guessing my decision for Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crap.

Well, if we do end up going out there, I can tell you if it's worth it to go on your Saturday.
Ok! I'd have to rent a car again, assuming I could from DTD (did go with Alamo, BTW - thanks! for that tip!). They say NOW is peak, so you should GO!!!

Questions, next round:

1. What time do we get up?

2. Do I charge my camera
in the morning or wait til later?

3. I grab a snack.
Gelato, Ice cream, or slush?

4. Edmonton Harley.
Do I get my poker chip?

5. We grab lunch at a fast food place.
A&W, McDonalds, Wendy's or Burger King?

6. Our next destination
is about a four hour drive away.
What time do we get there?

7. What common food do we have
for dinner?

Oh... And you saw it, right?
But don't tell me here.
PM me.

Coming up: An unexpected guest.

Harley looks pretty slick. Don't think I'll ever own one, since I'm too much of a wuss to ride one.

1. 7 am
2. charge it later (you'll probably wish you had charged it in the morning)
3. I'll guess gelato, since it is so random.
4. yes
5. I would have said "E. None of the above" -- but if I have to choose, I'll guess Wendy's.
6. I've forgotten where you're even going on this trip (is it to Vegas?). Actually -- now that I think about it, I think you're going to Banff? Good golfing there. Just watch out for the moose that like to hang out in the middle of the road downtown. Let's guess you get in around 3:00 pm -- a little before the 4 pm check-in time.
7. this is probably a trick question -- common food for Canadians or Americans? I'll play it safe and guess pizza.

Although -- I just took a look at google maps and noticed there is a Keg there in Banff...so if you didn't hit it up the first night for dinner -- I'm going to guess you hit it up at some point during the trip. Any bonus points for predicting the future?

Yes -- I saw it -- and I already sent the PM.

Is the unexpected guess a moose?

Did I ever tell you how Ruby and I were almost in
their last Christmas commercial?
I was off the boards a couple days, just saw your comment now. I saw you already told the story. I hadn't seen that latest video. Interesting you were asked to take part.

Yep. Midwest. That's us.
The latest thing I'm hearing is new
(two story) homes are being designed
with closets stacked above each other.
This way you can put an elevator in.

An elevator.

In your house.

I guess to make it easier
to carry the bowling ball to the
bowling alley in the basement.
(The one beside the pool.)

I'm ready for Alison's new TR. I'm also ready for everyone else to update.

Wait a sec! I just updated less
than a week ago! Sheesh!

Should I start a PTR for my 2018 WDW trip? Would anyone read it?

Sure!

Don't ask how long it's gonna
take for me to get to it though!

I got my LLC so I can work from home. It's called Carrie Cat. I just missed getting into the current training class for Disney. :( Now I have to wait for the next one. Not sure how long that will be. Carrie Cat. That suits you!
When is the next training class?
And is it online? Or?

Every house in Ohio I've ever lived in has had a basement. I even had a room in a basement for awhile when I lived in Cleveland.

::yes:: I've known lots of people
who had rooms in the basement.

Here I thought you had skipped responding to me. Then I realized I forgot to hit post. DUH!!!

"Well, Carrie. I know you haven't posted yet,
but I can read your mind.
When will you start training?"

I thought you were only supposed to do two in a row.

Actually, I usually only do one.
That's
plenty.

It usually takes days
to feel human again.

I find myself looking back over and over like one does when they drive past a car accident.

Ever get caught?

Only if you're wearing your touk and parka. It was 85 degrees F today, finally back to tank top and capris weather!

That's roughly equivalent
to the surface of the sun, right?

I haven't known anyone in California with a basement.

That's no one's fault.

please tell me you got that.

No, too expensive. Remember, running out of money.

And he'd take the rest.

I saw that, I mean that you got through a couple. Not whether or not you needed a bucket.

::yes::

I have a feeling it will take some time, Fran wants to go out to Anza Borrego Tuesday (since we don't have band) and that's a good three and a half hour drive each way....so there goes a day of getting caught up on the DIS!

Had to Google Anza Borrego. Cool!

When is the next training class?
And is it online? Or?
I don't know when they will offer the next class. It will probably be in about two months. Which means two more months with no income. The class is six weeks and it's all online. In fact I need to get a home landline for the class and to eventually take calls. I haven't had a landline since 2002! You also need a smartphone but I've had that. I did get a new laptop but I don't really use it. Don't want anything to happen to it. I thought Carrie Cat sounded catchy.

Were you really in the WestJet commercial? Because I didn't see you!

Yep. Midwest. That's us.
The latest thing I'm hearing is new
(two story) homes are being designed

Elevators are somewhat common in three story townhomes here in Houston. so a two story with the basement would be three levels too.

Of course, in a three story townhouse, you always enter on the bottom floor, but that is not the case with a basement.

Harley looks pretty slick. Don't think I'll ever own one, since I'm too much of a wuss to ride one.

Ya never know.
My story is when I was a teen
I had a 50cc scooter.
Top speed was around 30mph.
But I loved that thing.
I eventually got rid of it
because it was slow...
and people would try to run
me off the road.
Literally.

But I never forgot.
So fast forward to a few years ago.
I decide to get another one.
But a highway speed Honda.
And then someone said.
"Don't. Buy a bike."

So I did.

1. 7 am
2. charge it later (you'll probably wish you had charged it in the morning)
3. I'll guess gelato, since it is so random.
4. yes
5. I would have said "E. None of the above" -- but if I have to choose, I'll guess Wendy's.

Noted.
(Vegas is the trip after this.)

Although -- I just took a look at google maps and noticed there is a Keg there in Banff...so if you didn't hit it up the first night for dinner -- I'm going to guess you hit it up at some point during the trip. Any bonus points for predicting the future?

Hmmm... prediction points?
Interesting concept.

Shall I deduct points if you're wrong?
In the future of course.

Wanna roll the dice?
If you're right, I'll give you 10 points.
If you're wrong I'll deduct 20 points.
(The house always wins.)

So????

Yes -- I saw it -- and I already sent the PM.

Got it!

Is the unexpected guess a moose?

 Can you imagine???

No. The unexpected guest is definitely
not a moose!

And who knows. If Ruby wasn't there,
I probably would have.
It looked like fun.
I would've been famous!
