Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

I'll be back to comment later when I get some free time. I just wanted to let you know that we'll be going in November and I can pick up the Lady and the Tramp paw prints for you, that is if Kay can wait several months. No need to pay for shipping. It would be a gift for keeping me entertained throughout the winter. I still can't believe it's almost over. I also know if you call and explain what happened I bet they'd send it to you. It might be worth the phone call to get it sooner.

Thanks! I might just take you up on that.

You really think they'd send it? I didn't think they would.
I could certainly try that.
Thanks for the advice! :goodvibes

Et tu, Brute?
:littleangel:

On the other hand.... so you're feeling all better?
For the most part. I somewhat traded bronchitis for the after effects of ramping up the fertility drugs to double what I was dealing with before.

 Okay, okay. Ya caught me!
:rotfl:

oh, nice... not!
What the He... heck is wrong with some people?
I hope Karma got them big time.
No kidding!

You like that, do you?
::yes::

I still can't believe it's almost over. I also know if you call and explain what happened I bet they'd send it to you. It might be worth the phone call to get it sooner.
:thumbsup2 Oh this is so worth a shot!

Give it a shot what can they say... no?

For the most part. I somewhat traded bronchitis for the after effects of ramping up the fertility drugs to double what I was dealing with before.

Sounds like not a lot of fun.
Just take care of yourself!

Give it a shot what can they say... no?

Funny. That's exactly what I said to someone I know a couple of days ago.

I'm BAAACCCKKKKKK!!!!
New York was great!! The weather was actually really nice! Fairly warm on sunday, but then got colder Monday evening. We had a nice vacation, though! Now to think on a new adventure to take! Thinking Graceland or Chicago... I turn 30 in May, and I am being gifted $ for a weekend type trip... and no Disney as hubby and I are going for a couple days in early May for bdays and anni! His is May 7, mine is the 12, and our anniversary is the 9! haha

Bonus questions, round 11!
(Final round! Make 'em count!)

1. What time do we get up?

2. Do we sleep on the plane?
Me? Kay? Both? Neither?

3. Do we have issues at customs?

4. Which takes longer in Toronto (our connection.)
Security? Or customs?

5. Which came first. Our bags or Ruby to pick us up?

1. YOU wake at 1:30 to get ready and pack up Kay's things.. I'm sure she probably sleeps until 2/2:15......

2. Kay on the first
both, but on the 2nd flight.

3. Minor issues with the minor... see what I did there? ;) haha I try to be funny, doesn't always work.

4. Customs( minor problems)

5. Ruby

I think I would enjoy reading even just a synopsis of your Maui trip.
Add photos you take and some basic pros and cons and likes and dislikes..
I've yet to go to Hawaii at all, so even just a brief TR about it would suffice, for me :)
Also, gives you less pressure to take too in-depth notes and enjoy yourself!

Saying hello from the other side of the Atlantic. I feel I can post a comment now I have finally caught up and read the whole TR. I would get closer in to finishing and then people would keep posting. How's a girl meant to catch up? I could have skipped all the comments and videos but then I'd have missed all the witty banter! It sounds like you had a great trip.

I hear you like red heads? Personally I can't figure out Ariel. Or as my daughter said "What kind of girl gives up her voice for a man?"

Good to hear you're going to Banff. We spent 3 nights in Banff near the end of our 21 night trip in 2010. Forget the great scenery and wildlife there was a great Chinese restaurant on the main street that specialises in Yam No Jo King!

For whatever reason, the picture you quoted isn't showing up
so I don't know what you're referring to here!

It was your pic of DHS - and I was referring to my moment of self doubt when I thought my answer of DHS was wrong!

Yes. I totally get how Prof. Snape (RIP) would be upset if I didn't have a wand to whip out.

What? :confused3

I don't know how to explain myself without saying something inappropriate.

Rottenecards_58669137_v4qmw7hgnt.png

I swear it's true!
I know. I know!!
I'd like to say that we went and checked on the line
and it was too long.
But since I'm not positive we did that, I didn't bring it up.

As long as it's first on your agenda for your next visit...

Again, can't tell if you're looking at my or Kay's dish.
But they were actually not bad at all.

Yours but Kay's doesn't look particularly appetizing either.

Why yes. As a matter of fact you were the only one to pick the exact time.

tumblr_n2nngntjTG1rfduvxo1_400.gif

Thanks.
But I wouldn't want to put you to that much trouble.
Since you don't live in the US, going to a post office,
buying an envelope, etc/whatever would be out of your way.
You'll be on vacation still!

Well the offer stands if you still need in then.

Yes! One stale and moldy beaver tail!!!
(Ok... maybe not. What would you like?)

A guided tour of Winnipeg?

Noted. (And I fixed the numbering. Thanks!)

Thanks - I hope I win!

leslie-knope-winning.gif

But if you're feeling hungry, you might want to try Vern's.
(7 locations in Central Canada. One in Winnipeg.)
They take a pizza and pile it higher than any other that I've seen.
Here's a pic I found on Google.
(And no. It's not for the meek. Or if you have a heart condition.)

vern-s-pizza_zpstinkhe34.jpg

:lovestruc If I had known pizza like that existed in this world, I would have gone out west a long time ago! And I see from their website they have a location in Calgary. I was in Calgary last summer. If only I had known...

"Wait! Wait! You said the park you were going to was obvious!
You took the bus and not the boat or monorail!
So AK was the obvious choice."
Perfectly obvious to most, unless you're like me who completely brain-farted my way through my "MK" answer and did not even think "why would they take a bus and not a monorail to MK?". D'Oh! (Is that a thing anymore? :p)

The reason we took a boat from one end of World Showcase
and then walked across the bridge
and then the length of Future World
and then all the way out to the bus stops
instead of strolling over and taking a leisurely boat trip to DHS is....
Besides the immeasurable enjoyment of reading your delightful trip reports (last chance for bonus suck up points :teeth:), I have to admit that I've learned a thing or two, one of which is the fact that a boat exists between DHS and Epcot. I had no idea!

It was a really nice spot!
Oh, sure, it would get a little busy when people would come
to catch the next ferry.
But usually it was completely empty.
It sounds like a "hidden gem". I must keep it in mind.

Churro.

Go ahead! Tell me you can't believe it either!
I'll even give you bonus points for it.
WHAT? Seriously? Shirley you jest??

leslienielsen.jpg

Sorry, I can't believe it either!

But I'll be brutally honest.
Is it as good as a beaver tail?
You know, I think when we get our Canadian passports, they should give us the Maple Leaf pin and instructions to bring up the subject of "beaver tails" whenever possible when talking to our friends to the south, just to see the reaction:lmao:
I don't remember seeing it, but I read once that Epcot used to have a BeaverTails booth at the Canada pavilion. Too bad it's not there anymore. Then everyone could say they went to Canada for a good bit of tail. :rolleyes1

Bonus questions, round 11!
(Final round! Make 'em count!)

1. What time do we get up?

2. Do we sleep on the plane?
Me? Kay? Both? Neither?

3. Do we have issues at customs?

4. Which takes longer in Toronto (our connection.)
Security? Or customs?

5. Which came first. Our bags or Ruby to pick us up?
1. 1:25
2. Kay - yes. You - no. (I can't sleep on planes at all. Maybe you're the same)
3. No
4. Security (I've gone through TO a bunch of times, and I always find security worse than customs. But maybe that's just me.)
5. Ruby

Only one more bus to go.
Last time I waited 22 minutes.
How long will it be this time?
Longer? Shorter? :confused3
In hopes that you somehow get closer to my wait time guess, I am wishfully thinking your wait time was longer than 22 minutes.

I'm BAAACCCKKKKKK!!!!

Hey! Welcome home!

New York was great!!

Oh, good! Glad to hear that!

The weather was actually really nice! Fairly warm on sunday, but then got colder Monday evening.

That's good (about the nice weather, not that it got colder).
I would think that in winter, you're really taking a gamble on the weather in NY.

We had a nice vacation, though!

Any stand outs? Favourite things you did?
Things you wish you hadn't?

Now to think on a new adventure to take! Thinking Graceland or Chicago... I turn 30 in May, and I am being gifted $ for a weekend type trip... and no Disney as hubby and I are going for a couple days in early May for bdays and anni! His is May 7, mine is the 12, and our anniversary is the 9! haha

I've never been a huge Elvis fan. Don't mind his music, but...

But between those two, I'd be tempted to pick Graceland anyway
since I've been to Chicago a few times.

And your May sounds like our October with both Ruby's and my bdays and anni.

5. Ruby

Noted.
(And yes I did see what you did there. :))

I think I would enjoy reading even just a synopsis of your Maui trip.
Add photos you take and some basic pros and cons and likes and dislikes..

I will be writing about it...
But.. well... uh...

I think I'll just shut up and leave it for the Maui... mini-TR?

I've yet to go to Hawaii at all, so even just a brief TR about it would suffice, for me :)
Also, gives you less pressure to take too in-depth notes and enjoy yourself!

I've actually written a TR about our last Hawaii trip.
And, trust me on this, it's a whole lot better
than what I'm going to write about this one coming up.

Link in my siggie if you're interested.
Or just click here:
Just a silly little TR - Run away!
(Warning. Links are broken, you'll have to do some scrollin' & huntin')

DH gets to deal with the worst of it. They make me have the hormone swings of a pregnant lady! Poor DH...:rotfl2:

OMG. Your poor, poor husband!
For the love of God woman,
let him sit on the couch with his hand tucked under his pant's waist band
and watch football!

Saying hello from the other side of the Atlantic.

Hi! And :welcome: the TR!

I feel I can post a comment now I have finally caught up and read the whole TR.

Oh, you poor thing!
Didn't anyone warn you not to read this whole thing in one sitting?

Or were you smart and choked it down a little at a time?

I would get closer in to finishing and then people would keep posting.

Yeah, that happens around here.
I encourage everyone to share their stories.

How's a girl meant to catch up?

Quit your day job and stop driving your kids everywhere.

Oh.
You meant that figuratively, didn't you?

I could have skipped all the comments and videos but then I'd have missed all the witty banter! It sounds like you had a great trip.

:goodvibes: I'm glad you took the time to read the comments.
Usually, the comments are much, much better written than the drivel I put out.

I hear you like red heads? Personally I can't figure out Ariel. Or as my daughter said "What kind of girl gives up her voice for a man?"

 Hannah sounds like a smart girl.
And I agree with her!

But Ariel sure is nice to look... uh.... chat with.

And the fact that you have red hair
should in no way be construed as the reason why I'm super excited that you're here.

Maybe.

Good to hear you're going to Banff. We spent 3 nights in Banff near the end of our 21 night trip in 2010. Forget the great scenery and wildlife there was a great Chinese restaurant on the main street that specialises in Yam No Jo King!

Which restaurant? (If you remember the name)
And what the heck is Yam No Jo King????

It was your pic of DHS - and I was referring to my moment of self doubt when I thought my answer of DHS was wrong!

Ah! Okay, got it.

I don't know how to explain myself without saying something inappropriate.

Try.

(This should be interesting.)

:rotfl:

As long as it's first on your agenda for your next visit...

Nope. It can't be.
I can't ride BTMRR in the dark first thing in the morning.

But riding it at night is definitely up there on the list.

Yours but Kay's doesn't look particularly appetizing either.

Mostly my fault.
I couldn't be bothered to try and shoot it properly
so I just used a harsh flash and vertical shot.
It didn't look that bad IRL.

Well the offer stands if you still need in then.

I may take you up on it, too!
Thanks!

A guided tour of Winnipeg?

OF COURSE!!!!
If you managed to wend your way all the way up here,
you're darned tootin' I would!

:lovestruc If I had known pizza like that existed in this world, I would have gone out west a long time ago! And I see from their website they have a location in Calgary. I was in Calgary last summer. If only I had known...

Wasted opportunity there, dude.
Seriously, their pizzas are thick!

Perfectly obvious to most, unless you're like me who completely brain-farted my way through my "MK" answer and did not even think "why would they take a bus and not a monorail to MK?".

Well, you weren't alone there.
Actually it was fairly evenly split among MK, AK and DHS.
With AK coming in a little ahead and DHS with the fewest guesses.

D'Oh! (Is that a thing anymore? :p)

Well... I did mention that it might not be "chic" any more.

But I use it fairly often so... probably not.

Besides the immeasurable enjoyment of reading your delightful trip reports (last chance for bonus suck up points :teeth:),

That'll work. ::yes::

I have to admit that I've learned a thing or two, one of which is the fact that a boat exists between DHS and Epcot. I had no idea!

I can't claim to have figured that out on my own,
but these boards do give out tons of info that isn't readily available elsewhere.

It sounds like a "hidden gem". I must keep it in mind.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it a gem,
because it does get a little crowded just before the boat arrives.
And I imagine at park close it's probably packed...

But at that particular time?
Yeah.

WHAT? Seriously? Shirley you jest??

leslienielsen.jpg

Ah. One of my (if not THE) favourite lines.

Sorry, I can't believe it either!

You too?

You know, I think when we get our Canadian passports, they should give us the Maple Leaf pin and instructions to bring up the subject of "beaver tails" whenever possible when talking to our friends to the south, just to see the reaction:lmao:

I've already gotten a few!

I don't remember seeing it, but I read once that Epcot used to have a BeaverTails booth at the Canada pavilion.

I seem to remember seeing that somewhere too.

Too bad it's not there anymore. Then everyone could say they went to Canada for a good bit of tail. :rolleyes1

It's the best place for it!

1. 1:25
2. Kay - yes. You - no. (I can't sleep on planes at all. Maybe you're the same)
3. No
4. Security (I've gone through TO a bunch of times, and I always find security worse than customs. But maybe that's just me.)
5. Ruby

Noted.

In hopes that you somehow get closer to my wait time guess, I am wishfully thinking your wait time was longer than 22 minutes.

:rolleyes1

They take a pizza and pile it higher than any other that I've seen.

Wow, that is a ridiculous amount of meat on that pizza...reminds me of the meat lovers' my DH likes and calls it "African Lion Safari" pizza lol

"Haunted Mansion?"
There ya go!
So I let her out.

The best ride of course.

But I'll be brutally honest.
Is it as good as a beaver tail?

Spoken like a true Canuck.

Kay had the Chicken Parmigiana

That actually looked pretty good!

1) I always, almost reflex- like, move aside and let folks through, I assume there's a good reason for them to go to the front. Then, it hits me later, heeeyyyyy, that guy just totally cut in front of me! You're Canadian, you're nice....I have no reason other than I'm gullible. :daisy:

2). YAY for stopping that last line cutter! I don't think I'd have the nerve, but I'm glad you did! And, YAy for not getting beaten up! :crutches:

3). You rubbed her feet, awwwwww! Good dad. :cloud9:

Thanks for taking us along!
Dawn
