Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Beautiful pictures, makes me want to visit Hawaii.

I don't remember what she ordered,
but I do recall they screwed it up.
So it's not just the McDonald's by my house....

"I'm not quite dead yet."
I'm not quite dead yet.

Where I had to shovel the driveway
before I was able to park the car.
Yuck

1. We were supposed to arrive in Vancouver
at 7:18am. What time did we arrive?

2. Did we leave Vancouver on time?

3. Did you see it? Of course you did.
Did you see the other one?
Sure.
1. 7:58
2. Yes.
3. I think so....I will PM you later.

Aww! What a cutie!

So sweet!

And our last day there.
(Boo!)

No! I'm not going! You can't make me!
(psst..... $500/night.)

Okay.
So you can make me.
But I don't have to like it!

It sorta worked.
I stayed in the water,
but kept looking for ... you know.
That's what I do too. I'm so paranoid. I'm surprised you left them to defend the ocean's monsters by themselves.

We stopped at Foodland and grabbed various drinks,
hopped over to Boss Frog and returned the cooler,
and they waved the extra $2.08!
That's such a nice gesture.

How about... some more shave ice??

Yesssssss......
Yummmmm!

WOULD YOU PLEASE MAKE UP YOUR DARNED
MIND BEFORE YOU GET TO THE WINDOW!?!?!?!?!?
Ugh! That does drive me crazy, especially after waiting in line for 5-10 minutes.

The tables had holes drilled in them,
so you could place your shave ice in them.
That's cute.

Wayyyyyy too much syrup.
We ate them, or most of them,
but we all felt sick afterwards.
:crazy2: Yuck!

So the clear winner in the shave ice war was:
Local Boys.
By a landslide.
Good to know. Thanks for the tip.

Oh! And there's good news! It's not free!
About halfway up the mountain,
when you're already committed
and are going to go all the way or die trying,
there's a machine where,
for $10 a car, you are allowed to enter
Haleakala National Park.
That's a riot. Who would actually turn around at that point?

Our next stop was the Leleiwi Overlook,
where I took these shots.
I think they're beautiful.

A very short drive later and we arrived at the summit.
(10,023 feet elevation)
There's an observatory here,
but unfortunately it's closed to the public.
I'm sure that's incredible. I wonder what would happen if the volcano erupted though.:confused3 I'm sure that observatory is costly.

The crater is about 7 miles across, 2 miles wide
and 2,600 feet deep.

P1030077_zpsqbes9ugl.jpg
Amazing shot.

Say "I'm not quite dead yet." for bonus points.
(And to let me know that you're still alive.)
I'm not quite dead yet. I'm still alive.

Elle got selected for a pat down.
She was not happy about it.
Poor girl.

We were wheels up forty minutes late
at 12:20am.
Oh no!

I think we were the last to arrive.
At least the last to arrive who made it on the plane.
You're very lucky. It could have been a long night is you missed the plane.

Where I had to shovel the driveway
before I was able to park the car.

<sigh> Welcome home indeed.
I don't miss that.

1. We were supposed to arrive in Vancouver
at 7:18am. What time did we arrive?

2. Did we leave Vancouver on time?

3. Did you see it? Of course you did.
Did you see the other one?
Sure.

Did you see them all???

**I made that up. How long did you spend
Googling that???? Bonus points if you tell me.
More Bonus points if you tell me if you knew
what this is about, without going back to look.
1. 7:15
2. Yes
3. I did, although I think I may be one short, but I did go back and double check. I had to read your post on the computer instead of my phone so I could see everything. Points for perseverance?
4. I didn't google it, but remembered. I really hope you have a fantastic time. Will you tell us all about it?

Is it Monday?
I'm not sure how to distinguish that from any other day.
My last day off was in May
and my next one isn't for at least five days.
Maybe more. I haven't looked that far ahead.

Uggh! You do put in alot of hours. I guess that gives you more DISNEY MONEY!!!

Good! Better that way.

I think so - I complain about Birthdays, but the alternative is not so good... :rolleyes1

Did you!
Well, you're going to have to PM me
and prove it then.

Done

Standing by.

Doesn't look like it.
She only wants seasonal
and they only hire long term apparently.
Hopefully she'll learn from that
and next time say she can work longer
(Then in September, when she has band, etc
she can tell them when she's available.)

Oh darn! There are some things to learn for sure. I'm sure she will find another job. It is hard from an employer standpoint - really hard to find good employees who will actually show up for work. I'm sure she would be a good, reliable employee and they would want to work with her if they gave her a chance. Too bad it is such a long commute for her - maybe I could use her. :rotfl2:

Luna is soooo adorable, even as she gets bigger. Looks like she is learning how to be a good doggy

You packed alot into the day. Sorry the over the top sweet shaved ice made you feel a little yuck. It doesn't really sound good like that.

Nice shots of your views from Haleakala! Crazy how windy it was!

Did you ever find out why your flight was so late? Good thing you caught your connecting flight. :scared1: Sorry I was right about the snow - having lived in the snow most of my life, I know that is just the kind of fun activity that greets you upon arriving home from a wonderful tropical vacation in Winter. Or Spring.

1. We were supposed to arrive in Vancouver
at 7:18am. What time did we arrive?

6:55 am

2. Did we leave Vancouver on time?

No, 10 min. late

3. Did you see it? Of course you did.
Did you see the other one?
Sure.

Did you see them all???

Now here's where it gets tricky.
You can absolutely wait for others
to do the heavy lifting.
"Yes! I saw them all!"
<copy and paste previous answer>
"Yes! I saw them all!"

I'm sorry your trip is about over. I'm looking forward to your next adventure - which is????

Hi kids!

I've read all your comments,
but training the new person means no time to goof off at work
so I can only get on here on official breaks.
I will reply in detail, but not today I'm afraid.

A couple of things, though.

A week from tomorrow or a week from next Tuesday? :confused3

We leave one week from today on the 14th.

Tammie mentioned money for Disney.... Ha!

I opened the pool up today... or tried to.
Got everything all hooked up, flipped the switch, and...

Need a new pump.
No big deal.
Only gonna cost me about $1,000
(more actually)

A few peeps have asked if I'm planning on writing about Montreal.
I hadn't planned on it, no.
I really don't know if I'm going to do much.
Or take pictures.

I suppose I could write about it,
just to keep the party going.

I dunno. Thoughts?
It'll be pretty dull, probably.
Fair warning.

I opened the pool up today... or tried to.

OK I was going to get on about pools in my TR (since I'm waiting around for folks to join in on the quiz) and you don't even want to know what it's going to cost us to get it fixed up and that doesn't even count the jacuzzi. Bit that will be a post on my TR.

A few peeps have asked if I'm planning on writing about Montreal.
I hadn't planned on it, no.
I really don't know if I'm going to do much.
Or take pictures.

As I said before. You could go to the grocery store and I would read about it. Bring on the Montreal TR!

I suppose I could write about it,
just to keep the party going.

Absolutely! What would we do without a Pkondz party?

Because... holy cow was it windy!
We dumped our stuff on the beach
and headed into the water.
The waves were big enough
that you had to jump,
which was a hoot.
Thats the best time to enjoy the beach!!

At one point, one of the girls pointed in the water
and said "What's that?"

The theme to jaws immediately started playing
in my head and my heart rate tripled.

"Oh, nevermind. It's just a shadow."
Nope. NOPE. nope. NoPe. nOpE. even the reminder of what COULD be in the water would be GAME OVER for me and the ocean.

It sorta worked.
I stayed in the water,
but kept looking for ... you know.
oh I know!

Sounds stupid.
"Oh, poor pkondz. Had to relax. Oh, the horror!"
Well.... yeah.
But usually I get bored after two minutes
and want to do something.
But... not this time.
I was born without that relaxation gene as well.

We sashayed back to our room
I'm getting a pretty good laugh at the image of you sashaying :rotfl2:

We stopped at Foodland and grabbed various drinks,
hopped over to Boss Frog and returned the cooler,
and they waved the extra $2.08!
Now we can buy.... nothing.
You can't get much for $2.08.
Penny candy?? oh wait, the penny candy in Hawaii is probably, what, $3 each?

And hopefully they won't notice
the severed head I left in there.
:scared1:

Sorry.
But sometimes you have to take the bad with...
well, the bad.
Badder?

Worse.
I vote badder.

We drove over, parked and got in line.

P1030059_zpsaxxjgi1s.jpg
:goodvibes

WOULD YOU PLEASE MAKE UP YOUR DARNED
MIND BEFORE YOU GET TO THE WINDOW!?!?!?!?!?
Why would I want to do that?

I think it was Rootbeer, Passion Fruit, Strawberry.
And it may have been something completely different.
Thats an odd arrangement.

Okay. Show of hands.
How many of you have made
lemonade from scratch?

Come on! Let's see 'em!
How many??

There was one thing that was interesting
about this place.
There were picnic tables where you could
sit and eat your shave ice.
The shave ice was served in plastic holders.
The tables had holes drilled in them,
so you could place your shave ice in them.

Handy.
Very convenient! I'm sure they was one too many khaki shorts/syrup incidents prior to that invention.

Wanna see?
Well... we didn't take too many pics,
but I'll share the few we've got.

IMG_1158b_zpsuuymwglm.jpg
Gawrsh!

I didn't really mind the fee.
Really I didn't.
$10 for four people isn't much.
That's what... about $5 a person?
Sounds about right...

Your math skills are impressive.

Our next stop was the Leleiwi Overlook,
where I took these shots.
We still had a little over 1,000 feet to the summit,
but were already above the clouds.

P1030071_zpsspgcvjgp.jpg

P1030072_zpsblhqh1wo.jpg
Its pretty awesome to see above the clouds and not be in a plane!

We paused to take a quick snap,
(We were here!)
and headed back to the car.

P1030082_zpszyjurwln.jpg
Coats in Hawaii?! I mean, you are pretty much in outerspace at that point so its understandable..

No one else was hungry, so Kay picked McDonalds.
Gawd help us.

McDonalds.

I don't remember what she ordered,
but I do recall they screwed it up.
as per their usual...

Is anyone still reading this at this point?
I do drone on.
Say "I'm not quite dead yet." for bonus points.
(And to let me know that you're still alive.)
I'm not quite dead yet.

Still alive and kickin'!

We each enjoyed our donut
and I went back to the car to get my jeans.
I didn't want to wear shorts on the plane.
(Gets cold on planes, ya know.)
and in Canada in February...

Around 2pm or so we were landing back in Winnipeg.

And it was cold.

I made the trek to retrieve the car
while the others stayed indoors and warm
Glad to see you weren't eaten by any polar bears or robbed by dirty Mike and the boys.

1. We were supposed to arrive in Vancouver
at 7:18am. What time did we arrive?
7:18+ 40 minutes = 7:58am!

2. Did we leave Vancouver on time?
Yes

3. Did you see it? Of course you did.
Did you see the other one?
Sure.

Did you see them all???
I think I did, but I dont have time at the moment to go back to the beginning lol I'mm try to PM you when i get some more free time!

Coming out of lurking to say it looks like you had a very nice trip. And thanks a lot because now I am hooked on reading NEBO's trip reports.....lol

1. We were supposed to arrive in Vancouver

8:05am

Googling that???? Bonus points if you tell me.
More Bonus points if you tell me if you knew
what this is about, without going back to look.
haha like 15 minutes :rolleyes1 and yes.. I knew without going back ;)

OMG STOP.

Owwww :lovestruc

Admit it... you want one, don't you?

:rotfl: I have friends who burn almost this much

Don't you mean "had" friends?
Or don't they go up in a puff of smoke?

NO.

STOP.

:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

It took a lot to not grab 'em and bolt.

There it is! The sashay! I feel like you haven't sashayed in a while.

::yes:: I figured I had to put it in at least once. :)

Oh no...!!! :rolleyes1

Run!! Runnnnnn!!!!!

:lmao: this update is cracking me up.

 Good!

Oww you guys :grouphug:

::yes:: Except for the big ugly oaf in the middle, ruining the picture.

Is Ruby camera shy?? I don't know how to imagine her..

For reasons I can't go into, you'll never see her photo.
If we should ever meet
(who knows! September is still a slight possibility)
and if she says it's okay, I'll tell you why.

Those blue skies :lovestruc

::yes::

Was it really jacket weather?!

It was!
Not only was it a lot colder at that altitude
(I don't remember what it was... maybe 10C?)
but it was incredibly windy.

I'M NOT QUITE DEAD YET :cool1:

Oh, thank goodness!
What would Hymie do without you??

Oh man. Well that' better than going to work I guess (which is what I guessed). :thumbsup2

Work was bad enough,
but I didn't have to go back for a day or two.

Yes I accept.

Phew!! :scared:

HEY not too shabby!!!

You theoretically can still win.

..... 7:58am?

...... YES.

Noted.

Hahaha I missed this, but yes I had to go back to see what it was about. Points for honesty?!

::yes::

And while I was reading it, I spent precisely 0 minutes googling it, because I assumed you were full of BS :lmao:

That is always a good assumption.

Just delurking to say I'm sorry I missed so much of your trip report, pkondz!

Hi! You're back!

I did manage to get in and read from time to time before, during and after my big move, and I finally caught up just as it's ending.

Better late than never?
Would've been nice to chat along,
but I get that the move would've made that a wee bit difficult.

I've never been to Hawaii, but I don't think I'd want to spend such a short time there.

If it had been our first visit, then no. Too short.
But it's sort of like Disney, in a way.
You've been a couple of times
and you want to get back.
Even for a short visit.

I mean, sure, it had to be better than staying home shoveling, but I probably would have come home exhausted.

Oddly enough, we weren't.
I mean other than the long flight home,
and despite all we did,
we didn't push ourselves
and weren't too tired.

(It took me a good 2 weeks to recover from the 3 days it took us to drive from NY to FL, and all I actually did for those 3 days was sit there in the U-Haul!)

THEY MADE YOU SIT IN THE BACK OF A U-HAUL?!?!?!?!?

OMG. What kind of a terrible back seat driver
are you that made them do that????

Still, I'm glad you and all 3 of your girls got to go. As usual your pics are gorgeous!

Thanks!

I'm mostly settled in my new digs in Palm Harbor FL and loving it so far. I've spent the past few weeks marveling at the fact that there are palm trees and beautiful beaches everywhere I look, and I LIVE HERE NOW.

Oh, man.
Palm trees and beaches for life.
Unfathomable.

It's hard to believe the vacay isn't going to end and I don't ever have to shovel snow again.

I can't even.

No shovelling???? :faint:

We're in the midst of Tropical Storm Colin today, but all it's meant for us so far is lots of rain and the occasional gust of wind. I think the really bad weather has been inland ahead of the storm.

Came through it unscathed I hope?
Blizzards I can do...
I don't know a thing about tropical storms
or hurricanes.

And to answer the question I'm sure you would ask if I shut up and let you talk, yes, I have been to WDW.

 Okay!

In fact, I already have my Florida resident annual pass.

Woot!

DS and I spent a lovely day at Epcot last week. It's an easy hour and a half drive and we were home before midnight even though we stayed to see Illuminations! :cloud9:

Nice!
It'd take me a bit longer to drive home.

Lol. The only time I helped out at a dance recital, I was helping the littles change outfits between dances. That was pretty chaotic, but organized chaos. Um, mostly.

As a guy (and most of the dancers are girls)
I think I would be very unwelcome there!

I remember when we were in Montreal competing,
there was really no place for the girls to change.
One of Elle's teammates whipped her top off to change.
She had her back to me,
but I very quickly turned my back to her!

Another time, I was in the hallway at a dance recital
and the door to the dressing room was open.
I didn't see what was going on
(too busy with other stuff)
but I did overhear the following:
"Close the door! I'm changing!...
Oh, it's okay. It's just pkondz."

For drop-off, they just had one spot, so I'm not sure how they told the kids where to go after we traded a kid for a pick-up slip. (They seriously had a whole procedure at the end where everyone lines up on the stage, and then parents have to go retrieve their kid by presenting a slip of paper, I think in alphabetical order, but I forget their system for making sure the parents didn't all storm the stage at once.)

That's way better than the first recital we took Elle to.
We took her for dress rehearsal,
after she performed, I went to get her backstage...
gone.
We couldn't find her (she was 3 at the time.)
It turned out that she tried to find us and left.
She somehow managed to get out of the
auditorium and into the lobby...
where anyone could've taken her.

I was not a happy camper.
(With the school director, not Elle.)

I can see why this one had to come home with you guys. Truly adorable. I'm still not getting a dog however. At least the kids will eventually move out and take care of themselves.

She's cute... but, man!
I will be glad when she's trained.

Only if I have a good book.

:thumbsup2

Someone already said it, but yeah, you and Van Gogh...

::yes::

They are cooler than your average chicken. Purty.

They are?
That's what I thought,
but not having a whole lot of experience
with chickens, I wasn't sure.

I have, but my Dad made it the best.

Oh? What did he do that was different?

Guess I'll have to go back, huh?

I'm not quite dead yet. Only mostly dead.

Better than all the way dead!

Yikes. I still think Harley shorts would've been cool.

I don't know if they sell them.
I've never looked....
but I've never noticed any either.

Nope. It doesn't get better. Waaayyyy too long.

You're not the first to say that.

1. 8:05

2. Yes

3. Of course I did! But you already know that.

Noted.

I didn't spend any time googling it, because I realized at the time you had to have made it up. But by the time I got to the end of it, I had no idea what you were talking about!

Noted.

Good luck to Alison, but not too much! (I still can't believe I'm currently in second place!)

I haven't tallied the points yet,
so even I don't know who's ahead.

Good to know. I usually don't go more than a day before I finish it up. Usually on my phone.

I found out the hard way...
It's about three days, I think.

Now if I can't finish up,
I copy it to a Word doc
for safe keeping.

Well, you've already seen what a one bedroom and a two bedroom look like in the pictures I posted on the last update. A one bedroom has the living room, kitchen and bedroom with the jacuzzi bathroom and toilet/shower bathroom. Just take out the second bedroom with the additional bath. One bedrooms (at VWL) rent for between 28-53 points per night depending on time of year, so multiply that by $12 per point and you have $336-636 per night for a one bedroom.

On the other hand, a studio at VWL goes from 15-28 points per night depending on time of year, so that would be more like $180-336 per night. The studio would be like Jim and Alberto's room with a pull out couch instead of the second bed. It would have a mini fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Probably not cheaper than a value, but in case the amenities of staying at a Deluxe were of interest, it's cheaper than rack rates on the rooms, I think.

Every resort has a different point chart and costs (in points) per night S-TH is cheapest, F&S are kind of outrqgeous, but that's how it goes.

Thanks for the info!
I think it will depend on whether Ruby
wants to go or not.
(And she's not a Disney fan, so...)

If she did, I'd upgrade the accommodations
because she'd like to lounge by the pool.

Just for me, (or me and a kid)
a Value is fine since I spend so little time there.

This I can't answer, we almost always have one bedrooms and they do give us one box of laundry soap.

Ah.

Sometimes they just blow in nice warm air from the desert and Las Vegas. Other times they are brutal and cut right through the center of the San Fernando Valley. I went to school at CSUN which was right in the middle of the wind tunnel that nature created. It was really noisy and windy there. I was so happy to move to Long Beach, we don't have hardly any winds here!

Huh. I'd heard of the warm part,
not the other.

Stupid phone. I meant CAR!!!!!!

:lmao: I know!
But it was more fun that way!

I prefer not to starve, so I would take the awful instead.

Realistically... yeah.
But McDonalds.... blech.

Of course I had memorized that movie in High School.

::yes::

Interesting I don't seem to have that problem, but I don't fly where it's cold anymore either.

I need to find a warmer part of Winnipeg.

It's just no fun redistributing it and showing everyone there what is in our suitcases. I would rather take care of it in private.

Yeah, it was embarrassing sitting in the middle of the floor
with open suitcases.
I probably should invest in a scale.

But... If you have two suitcases
with a weight limit of 50lbs each,
who cares if one is 80lbs and the other 20lbs?
That's just not going to make enough of a weight distribution issue.

Luckily since we don't usually do connections we haven't had much of this problem

We almost always have connections.

Wow, you really went for it with all the little intruders in your pictures for this update :P

SO. MUCH. FLUFF.

And think of the softest possible thing.

She's softer.

Perk of late flights for sure. Unlike our upcoming return flight from Disney this August. 9 AM. You can calculate the Tragical Express pick up time for international flights

Oh, don't I know it.
Our flight out was at 6am. (5:55am to be precise.)
DUD time was 2:55am.

Okay, but that's 100% Amber and I in the Caribbean. To be fair, you don't go swimming after dark and the pools tend to close at like, 6 PM in All-Inclusives. Interestingly, each place we've been to had a different go to channel to watch. Mexico was Disney Jr.

Seems fair.

Those are the best!

::yes:: They were fun!

Hey, you can probably get a couple of chocolate bars, and that's something!

I keep forgetting that!
In the US, you can get a bar for a buck,
not like back home where we pay $2.50.

On one hand, I definitely get you on that. On the other hand, I have terrible eyesight even with glasses so sometimes reading the menu is tricky if I'm not close enough.

Usually though I'll stay out of line while and stand to the side to get closer to the menu while figuring it out, if the layout makes it possible to do so.

Well, okay.
How about:
WOULD EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR MARIE PLEASE MAKE UP YOUR DARNED
MIND BEFORE YOU GET TO THE WINDOW!?!?!?!?!?

Those clouds look really comfy

(Yes, I am aware they would not actually be comfortable. Stupid science)

This trip was really rough on Elle's innocence. The poor girl.

She'll be in therapy for years.

That has nothing to do with me being her father.

More shout outs to come!
Right now I have to drive Kay to school,
take a pool water sample in
so they can tell me how much more money
to spend.
And then.... sleep.
(Been up for... 27 hours now. blah.)

And think of the softest possible thing.

She's softer.

:cloud9:

Oh, don't I know it.
Our flight out was at 6am. (5:55am to be precise.)
DUD time was 2:55am.

Oh. Oh. Ew. That's terrible. That's an okay flight departure when you're going somewhere. Not when you're coming back :crazy2:

I keep forgetting that!
In the US, you can get a bar for a buck,
not like back home where we pay $2.50.

Please tell me you're talking about fancy schmancy Lindt bars and you're not paying $2.50 for a Kit Kat

Well, okay.
How about:
WOULD EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR MARIE PLEASE MAKE UP YOUR DARNED
MIND BEFORE YOU GET TO THE WINDOW!?!?!?!?!?

:thanks:

She'll be in therapy for years.

That has nothing to do with me being her father.

Little victories ;)

As a guy (and most of the dancers are girls)
I think I would be very unwelcome there!

Yeah - they didn't recruit any dads for that particular volunteer bit! Tho I think all the girls with costume changes wore one leotard over the other one. One thing I liked about this dance studio was that they purposefully had all recital costumes based on class leotards/tights, and a $35 costume fee. Each teacher had to figure out accessories within that budget. Also, each recital (divided by class level) had different colors of tutus, and they were all the same. So, you started with the Pink recital, moved up to Green, and I think yellow was after that. I was sometimes jealous of the gorgeous outfits I would see from other recitals, but not of the hundreds of dollars they had to shell out each time!

We couldn't find her (she was 3 at the time.)
It turned out that she tried to find us and left.
She somehow managed to get out of the
auditorium and into the lobby...
where anyone could've taken her.

Yikes. :scared1: As you can see, our dance studio was much more into organization and systems! I wouldn't be happy about not being able to find a 3 year old after a recital - pretty scary stuff.

That's what I thought,
but not having a whole lot of experience
with chickens, I wasn't sure.

I don't really have any firsthand experience, either, but I think most are not that colorful. I could be wrong. :confused3

Oh? What did he do that was different?

I can't remember - maybe that he included more of the actual lemon than usual? Sadly, I can't ask him anymore. :(

Guess I'll have to go back, huh?

::yes:: Good excuse.

Aww! What a cutie!

::yes::

So sweet!

She is!

That's what I do too. I'm so paranoid. I'm surprised you left them to defend the ocean's monsters by themselves.

The good thing about leaving the DDs
in the water while I'm on the beach...

I'm not the one who'll get eaten.

That's such a nice gesture.

I appreciated it.
I mean, if they'd charged me,
no big deal.
But they didn't.

Ugh! That does drive me crazy, especially after waiting in line for 5-10 minutes.

I know!
Those lines would move sooo much quicker!

Unfortunately... yeah.

Good to know. Thanks for the tip.

You're welcome!

That's a riot. Who would actually turn around at that point?

I know!
"Okay! We're halfway there!
Wups! $10? We're turning around!"

I think they're beautiful.

Well, thanks. I can only imagine what the
real overlook sight would have been!

I'm sure that's incredible. I wonder what would happen if the volcano erupted though.:confused3 I'm sure that observatory is costly.

It may never erupt again in the lifetime of the observatory.
Think of the advances we've had in the past 300 years.

Amazing shot.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm not quite dead yet. I'm still alive.

I think alive is better.
I think.

Poor girl.

Yep.

Well.... not too bad.
We've had wayyyy worse!

You're very lucky. It could have been a long night is you missed the plane.

I know! We were already beat by then.

I don't miss that.

I wish I did.

1. 7:15
2. Yes
3. I did, although I think I may be one short, but I did go back and double check. I had to read your post on the computer instead of my phone so I could see everything. Points for perseverance?
4. I didn't google it, but remembered.

Noted.

I really hope you have a fantastic time. Will you tell us all about it?

I really don't know.
But honestly?

Probably.
