Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

I am going to be at WDW in September, arriving a couple of days before F&W opens, if anyone is interested in getting together.

Dates?

In other news, DH and I are flying down to West Palm to visit my parents in a couple of weeks, something we haven't done in 6 or 7 years (they come up here every fall). DH told me it's actually cheaper to rent a car and fly home from Orlando so I convinced him that we should drive up a day early and wait for our flight at the Magic Kingdom.

Seems legit.
Did he buy it?

These are the arguments you can win when you have an AP burning a hole in your pocket.

Well, then it's pretty much a no-brainer, right?

No update yet.
I'm being lazy... and loving it.

However.
Something occurred to me today.
I had a little 'incident' in the kitchen today.

It's either funny, or weird.
But if you tell someone you stabbed yourself with a knife,
even if you said you needed stitches,
you'll probably just get laughed at.
Or called a doofus.
Or both.

But if you mention that while you were peeling potatoes,
the peeler somehow got caught under your nail...

You don't even have to finish the sentence, do you?
You're going to get flinches and shudders every time.

And... I didn't stab myself.

I'm confused. Why does anyone need any excuse to call you these? ;)

But if you mention that while you were peeling potatoes,
the peeler somehow got caught under your nail...

You did NOT just say that. Or do that.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

(Ok, I"m done now.)

You're talking to a nurse. Ummm, no.

Yikes - I know that must really hurt. And I know the sheepishness you feel. I recently had to have my boss meet me at work to give me a few stitches for a cooking accident. Jim is quite sure I should no longer be allowed sharp objects..

On another note - we have a Hawaii trip planned!!!! Our cruise for next April with Ryan's fam has changed to Aulani and Hali Koa next March! We took a vote - Jim and Ryan were leaning toward cruise, but Dana, Mason and I all voted Hawaii. Evan just wants another Yehti. :hyper:

DDIL Lindsay is quite creative with Londynn's hair, so I've learned to notice these things. :goodvibes

As an (almost) former dance dad, I notice hair buns.
Messy buns, sock buns, high buns...

We did a Survivor theme Dance pool party a couple years ago.
One of the team challenges we had the girls do was sock buns.
Fastest team won.

I have an idea! Lets let someone else cook from now on!
I'm sure Jim and Ruby can learn...

They're different aren't they?
What did you think?
It was awesome, but I could only eat two bites because my jaw was hurting from chewing so long.:rotfl2:My DH had no trouble finishing it off.

That just made my day.
She wore it all day yesterday as well.:goodvibes

What did she name it?
Sparky. Original, yet still cute.

Aren't they good?
Amazing. Love the song.

Aw, shucks...
It's true.

That will be the next prize. Just a box of bubble wrap.
Now I really need to up my game. A box of bubble wrap!!! The kids will be thrilled!

I didn't even notice that.
"What's a heart braid?"
Went back and... oh!
It helps keep her baby hairs in, yet getting that perfect heart is a pain.

But if you mention that while you were peeling potatoes,
the peeler somehow got caught under your nail...
:scared:Yikes. :earseek: Hope you feel better.

I try and be creative, but sometimes she wants no part of it. I like to watch videos on different ways to do her hair. She's my only girl so I need to enjoy it while I can, right?

That sounds like a blast. I love buns too. My favorite bun is a micro braid inside a regular braid bun. My DD has been resisting buns because she hates the bobby pins. Sock buns are great because you don't need bobby pins, but she hates having a sock in her hair. She's very picky.o_O

I might have muttered a four letter word just reading about it.

The last time I got stitches was about an hour after I had been attempting to separate frozen meatballs with a butter knife. (Who knew thumbs had arteries?)

The doctor kept trying to halt the bleeding so he could start stitching, and he knew I was starting to get anxious. So he says, "You know, they teach us in med school that the patient ALWAYS stops bleeding." Makin' funny with the ha ha! But it did make me laugh. In other news, nobody wanted anything to do with spaghetti and meatballs that night or any other, for a long long time.

I looked up our dates for the fall and we'll be there from 9/11 - 9/18. For some reason, flights are cheap on 9/11 and often the plane is only half full. :confused3 We often do Disney in September because of our anniversary on the 15th and because we went there for our honeymoon. I'd love to meet anyone who would like to get together.

Good. You know... harem and all.

:grouphug:

"I don't always hurt myself when cooking. But when I do, I ram peelers up my nails."

Glad you cleared that up.

You're welcome.

I like it.
When I met Ruby, that was her dog's name.

I can pretty much guarantee some bubble wrap...
unless Ruby threw it out... which is possible.

It helps keep her baby hairs in, yet getting that perfect heart is a pain.

Interesting. Didn't know about the hair holding part.

:scared:Yikes. :earseek: Hope you feel better.

Oh, it wasn't too bad.
I cried like a baby for a while,
then put a Band-Aid on it
and went back to peeling.

I like to watch videos on different ways to do her hair.

Sounds just like Ruby.

My favorite bun is a micro braid inside a regular braid bun.

That sounds hard!

If she gets into dance, she'll have plenty of practice.

Ouch. :thumbsup2

"Stop making jokes and save my life!!"

Okay, I'll keep it in mind... and probably ask again if necessary.

For some reason, flights are cheap on 9/11 and often the plane is only half full. :confused3

:rolleyes1

I'll let you know... if and/or when.

The Caramilk candies are chocolate with caramel insid
Now those sound really good! But nothing will ever be as good as the caramel bars we sold in choir. Those were heaven!

And... I didn't stab myself.
So what do you call it? And how the heck did you manage that? Was there a lot of blood and cursing?

So Ponzi, you keep talking about WDW. Are you thinking about a fall trip?

Nope. You can't just come out and say that without proof.
Now you have to send some to everyone reading this.

I meant I didn't stab myself with a knife.
I managed to peel about a quarter inch of
finger nail off.
Too bad I'd just trimmed them that morning.
Wasn't a lot of blood.
It did sting for two days though.
It's the little ones that sting the most, it seems.

So Ponzi, you keep talking about WDW. Are you thinking about a fall trip?

It's just a possibility right now.
Certainly nothing concrete.
I already know I'm going to have
a really busy summer at work.
But Kay might (Big might) do a
student exchange to Japan.
If she does, then any money for trips will have to go there.
